  • We were advised to put Davey in a stander to help with weightbearing, a task that is not easy when you are dealing with a child that cannot stop moving. He hated it and would scream and cry for the whole therapy session. Unless he was well entertained, it was very difficult to use for both him and the caregivers.
In the end, we realized it was not the right equipment for his needs and would no longer even consider using in the future due to the unique nature of issues arising from LND

I just found your channel. I'm the mother of 14 children, 2 special needs. All my kids are adults, and one of the special needs adults has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He is 41 years old and uses a power chair to get around. His speech is mostly unintelligible to those who do not know him. He's diagnosed with mild MR, but he is super smart in many ways. He still utilizes his stander, not really for a physical reason, but for being able to stand up like everyone else. He likes to fit in. At age 30, he requested a trial at a community group home and loved the friendships & freedom, so the rest is history. Im going to enjoy watching your channel. ❤

You are great, don't give up, you are doing the best for him and I'm sure other kids like him will benefit from learning this process and struggle and how you overcome things that not even doctors were helping with
