One of my favorite games finally on the PS4... I must be dreaming, because i still can't believe we actually have a new SoTC with updated graphics to play; and in honor to this great masterpiece i decided to compile all of the songs that can play when we are battling those majestic and colossal creatures. So enjoy, cause I did this one with love. ❤️ Oh and before i forget, the songs are ordered in a way that my mind finds memorable and i placed the transitions very close to one another for i wanted that feeling of non-stop excitement and awe. I left out the songs called 'Silence', 'Black Blood' and 'Creeping Shadow' because they are ominous and would get the video to feel very calming, which is not my intention, but i made a video with just those three songs now, you can find a link for it if you go down in the description :)

Dirge is legit the most stressful encounter for me, having to juggle running at full gallop with agro, while looking BACKWARDS trying to Also AIM A BOW at this thing's EYES!! Incredible fight among many unforgettable moments in this amazing game
I love the fact that Dirge is one of the few colossus who has their own theme for the first phase
Yes. The complexity makes the battle fun. I remember finding Celosia battle also very frustrating once its armour breaks. I could never have Wander hit a good stab with that thing charging around and shaking every 2 seconds. I'd give it like 1 or 2 weak stabs before going out of stamina. Good times tho.
Same. Dirge was what I though Hydrus would be when the voice-from-the-sky said there was a water colossus

About five types of human like giants, which are wanderers, miners, warriors, sentinels and sovereigns.
Then comes the animals, which are cattle, serpents, other reptiles and mammalian predators.

Surprisingly enough, these types of beings are the types of creatures that are normally within myth and legend of old.
Pholux: why was this designed. Aberth: Terror embodied. Avus: this almost literally just Avian. Alda Flam: This arena would have taken up almost an entire sector. Dionin: could this have been in the 24 colossi that were scraped and never mentioned. Kyos: you fall off and you lose instantly, this colossus would have required three cycles minimum to complete. Sirius: quadrant G7 would have been much less pleasant with an impossible Collosia clone in it. Monkey: can we get this thing a name and a DLC, it is awesome.

Nooo! I edited them to fade to black at the end there, but for some odd reason when i saved the vídeo they would not do it :[ tried editing it in twice and nothing... But i guess the vídeo knew that more tears would probably drown the community.

I like how even when you know you’ve heard some of these before, as they play for more than one boss, it doesn’t feel re-used. It feels re-purposed. Just as fitting as the first time.
I’m so glad they made a remaster of this game. Without it, I never would have been able to play this amazing game. So thank you bluepoint games

@@eliasacevedo5711 way to point the obvious but guess what, the ps4 was how I first experienced this game too, I knew it was on ps2 and ps3 which for me are the best consoles. I wish I played it when it first came out because it's amazing, also it's not my fault if they don't own those consoles I'm just one of those gamers that don't get rid of their consoles.
Literally one the greatest soundtracks of all time
It conveys absolutely everything the game does visually and thematically while maintaining a charged energy representing the courage and triumph it would take for someone to stand against such an odd land and it's inhabitants. The sorrow, the weirdness, the rush... it's all there.
Exactly. The emotions and motivations that are unspoken through dialogue are very clearly presented in the games music. You can hear the sheer force of will and drive wander has to be able to pull himself through these trials of strength, all for his princess. Such a great game and one of the best soundtracks of all time
I do feel that the rush of the music doesn't just represent the courage of the Wanderer and his enduring detication to bring back Mona. In an empathetic sense, it can also have us sympathize with the fear and desperation of the colossi struggling to fight Wanderer off as we watch them being gradually and torturously bled out strike after strike. The colossi aren't just mere automatons animated by the dark souls sealed within their crumbling, eroded bodies. They are living, breathing creatures that very much have the capacity to feel pain and sentience to act upon the terror of losing their life.
this game in ps2 reached the perfect puntuaction...was catalogued as a Masterpiece in meristation. this game maybe dont have normal enemies but 16 bosses were the best battles in the game. his continuation...Ico....was mainly normal enemies and one final boss...and puzzles and platforms mainly.

There are many theories surrounding this game, but i for one believe that we are in the wrong somehow... Or maybe doing something good(for the shadows) that will lead to something bad in the grand scheme of things(Dormin unleashing his magic on the world).

Countless movies, tv series i watched, played tons of games heard many stories this piece of art has been the only thing that makes me drop a few tears everytime, so much morality questions in the saddest way possible.
The opened way is definitely one of the most iconic tracks in this game

Man, they *really* nailed the themes for Avion and Dirge. So fitting and amazing.
The opened way gives me the biggest chills when I play. It totally captures the feeling of climbing these beasts with the intent of "im taking this thing down no matter what". And then the guilt with the end of the battle music 😥

They released an image for a new game, the name of the project is 'Beauty and the Beast' as of now, but not the original name i'm afraid. It has some similarities to SoTC that might get you interested.
For Phase Two themes you should've made them Orange.. that would be pretty cool to me.

I always thought it was interesting how colossi who were similar to each other shared the same themes. "Grotesque Figures" is shared by Valus and Barba, who are both minotaur-like creatures, "A Violent Encounter" is shared by Quadratus and Basaran who are both big, bulky, slow-moving quadrupeds, "Liberated Guardian is shared by Celosia, Cenobia and Kuromori who are the smallest and fastest-moving of the colossi and "Counterattack" is shared by Dirge and Phalanx who are both giant serpentine creatures that burrow into sand.

The opened Way is one of the best childhood tracks I remember, such a beautiful masterpiece.
The open way always gets me, played it back on the PS2 ,the PS3 and finally on my PS4 and it didn’t lose its charm, every gamer should experience this masterpiece.
Agreed, i would suggest people to at least rent it to see if they dig it.
My favorite pair of themes has to go to A Violent Encounter/Revived Power. There is simply nothing more insanely epic. I can literally feel the earth shattering when Revived Power kicks the fuckin door down. God almighty... thank you Kow Otani! And thanks for putting this together man! Keep it up!

Dirge's eyes are naturally blue, but in the blattle when he is chasing you, they are orange like when we hit another colossi
The feeling of fighting Valus for the first time, how fkn terrifying it was to watch its eyes turn blue to orange while turning around when I piss it off. I wish I could play this game again with no memory of it

Grotesque figures has ALWAYS been my favorite. It's so damn good and I always get so hype listening to is.
All of the themes go so well together, they perfectly transition into one another, it doesn’t sound stitched (except for the end of the battle), and it’s just all so perfect as if it could be one theme altogether
I love this game so much. It's definitely way up on my favorites list. The story, the design, the gameplay, the music, it's all amazing. I aspire to create a game that's even in the same league as this one day.

This edit has to be the best tribute to the colossus battle tracks I've come across. The seamless transitions between tracks makes it so much more thrilling than waiting for the next battle track to load or play naturally
Thanks for putting these together. I play this compilation when I'm pulling all-nighters for deadlines. It makes me feel like I'm physically being chased by the colossi, hence making me work faster.

We need Kō Ōtani working together with From Software for a souls game, fighting the unsurmountable bosses in the souls games feels just as impressive and exciting as watching a colossus move towards you with their brigth orange eyes.

I absolutely LOVE how "A Messenger From Behind" starts- it gives Dirge such a unique feeling. Like you can feel those big ol googly eyes
love how you presented this with the colossi eyes lighting up and everything :) personally love this OST as a godzilla fan, as the composer also did my favourite godzilla movie, GMK. if you ever want more of his stuff check it out, has more of that mystic sound with some electronic flair

17:48 - Gatekeeper of the Castle Ruins is my favorite, sounds so majestic when you’re fighting the 15 Colossus before facing the last. Plus I love all the battle, the music, background, the tatic used, the Colossus itself. It’s a enjoyment to play. 😌

When the track is reaching the Malus theme, it reminds me how scary it was when playing that stage when I was 14, the thunder, the rain, the staring eye of Malus always give me goosebumps.
A Despair-Filled Farewell is my absolute favorite. All of the music in SotC is brilliant. It always leaves me with some sort of impact. Even cloudy days with some sunlight peeking through reminds me of this game and it’s soundtrack. Absolutely amazing. Koh Otani is such an inspiration.

1st colossus was great, but hearing revived power after climbing the second colossus is breathtaking, and is when I realised how much I Really wanted to replay shadow of the colossus again and again
