Beyond words. I feel we didn’t get half of what he was capable of and yet his 50% rivals the 100% others could do.
Un gran genio
He had more Talent in his pinky finger
Then I do in my whole body and that's a lot of body 160 lb
Prince... a TRUE Renaissance man!!! An individual with exceptional talent displaying overflowing gifts from God!!! 💜🎶🎹🎶🎸🎶💜
Father’s Song/computer blue/venus de Milo//unidentified/God/raspberry beret/unidentified/do me baby/moonbeam levels - TOTAL GENIUS MASTER.
Oh, yes, it is a compilation of all of those! I didn’t realize he had written Venus Dym Milo, and others so early.
The song before Do Me Baby is "You're My Love"
I think I read somewhere that piano was his first instrument. If so, its only fitting that his last tour was just he and his piano...RIP
I don’t write ‘em down. I don’t have to.
This was beautiful
That was my least favorite line... Not writing them down pretty much insures that your music dies with you.
Yes, we're lucky with recordings, but having the music written makes them different beasts.
@@3amMusicShop I agree completely
A few scenes later the Kid found them… all written down. 🤣 The father was the original hater.
If this doesn’t hit your heart, what will?
❤❤❤❤❤
So beautiful. Prince was a _Master_ of his craft .
so true I miss him more every day 💜
The thing that most impresses me about Prince's piano playing is how much he has his own style. He really does and he was obviously very confident in that style. He was a really good player and he isn't massively known for his ability on the piano, beyond the fairly basic piano, keyboard and synth parts he plays on his albums.
Solo piano never sounded so beautiful❤
I am sooooooo grateful this one escaped the vault and shared been rightfully shared with all of us to hear his genius. THANK YOU!
#Prince rehearsal is better than others final projects.💜
this thing made me emotional. i love him so much and i miss him so much. there will never be…🐐☔️🎹
Their is a new one coming! But you are right Prince was one of a kind. But this next prince that is coming has more Rock & classical mix, with a little surprise favor sound. I love Prince I wish he didn't have to go so soon🎼🎶🎵🎹🎤🎧🎵🎶👑🎸🎶🎵
Makes me so sad that we lost him.
In the blink of an eye, a lifetime passes by. 😢
I've had this for years but this quality is so much better!
The last time I saw you, it was the Piano and a Microphone tour. You left us 2 months later. Listening to this made me burst into uncontrollable tears. We miss you. Say hi to mom for me.
I could hear how playing ("rehearsing"), gave him his peace in that room. So beautiful.
Venus De Milo a full 2 years before it's official release! WoW.
Father’s Song, actually. Check out the Purple Rain movie, as well.
So sorry. Only now I realize this is a much longer recording. And yes, indeed!
Somebody send this to Quincy Jones. Prince was a master instrumentalist and a musician’s musician.
He would clame it... 😶
Ya, Quincy was just hating on Prince , because he didn't jump when Q said to jump .
Quincey Jones has slagged off so many people that he is hardly a credible judge of anything anymore. He always sounds bitter - what does he have to be bitter about?
For those who want to know:
00:00 Father's Song
02:06 Venus De Milo
04:37 God
08:56 Raspberry Beret
10:02 You're My Love
11:49 Wednesday
12:48 Do Me, Baby
13:38 Moonbeam Levels
Thank God this was recorded and I got my earbuds in blasting this beautiful music. Love you Prince 😘
Prince was truly the epitome of an artist. Stay true to himself and was destined for greatness. 👑🐐💯
Prince on piano is sublime!🎹 ☮️💜🎶
The legendary Sunset Sound. Thank you for sharing.
Some of the most beautiful sounds ever! You are a once in a lifetime! So glad I was a witness💜💜💜
So beautiful from this musical genius! 💜🎹
Just a few mesures and ... magic.
That Computer Blue is goosebumpy.
Simply beautiful
Awww 💜🎶🎩 Prince has gone to the other side ….the day the music died ☔️✝️
Master of his own game perfect love ❤ u prince
I still play variations of this theme based on what was heard in the purple rain movie, when his dad was playing in the basement
fathers song
This is so incredible ❤ thank you for sharing this magic.
Will we ever understand the level of Prince’s otherworldly talent? No…
He played so beautifully. 💜
THANK YOU SUNSET SOUND! This is beautiful! 💜💖💜💖💜
Genius 💜
Incredible!
Thank You so much for sharing this I love Prince!!😢❤❤
OK you've managed to make me tear up and make my bottom lip tremble. It's hearing unearthed gems like this, that really reminds me just how much I miss Prince. If you listen to this loud in a room by yourself with your eyes closed, you can almost visualise Prince sitting at the piano, eyes shut and drawing on personal/life experiences, painful, happy and letting them out while playing and when he's done he stands up with a clear and focused mind (and Peggy in the booth doing her thing.) Well, that's what I imagine anyway ......
what a gift. T h a n k y o u T h a n k y o u T h a n k y o u
"You're my love" that ended up on a Kenny Rogers album in there too
Amazing to realize when things were WRITTEN vs released. UTCM music played (i think) pre PR release (summer 84?)
And its clearly fleshed out already. Reminding us that he didnt REALLY have TIME periods in the way we think of them. He simply put them together to fit style of record. He was incredibly diverse at STYLE. I can only tell WHEN by the equipment used. And even then no guarantee of timeframe. Best who has EVER been
after computer blue, there's some music from Under the cherry Moon which hadnt came out for another 2 years or so
Wow Moonbeam Levels !!!
Oh me, oh my! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!
Way to go, Prince!
This was done on my birthday Feb 7..so great he was
I needed that this morning
Beautiful.
He's a good lad 🙂

Me too, it hurts
Thank you for this, really. Thanks.
Prince is believed to be the modern day Mozart
Many thanks for sharing 🔥
Wow, just wow 💜💜💜💜💜
Rasberry Beret 1984 🔥🔥🔥🔥
bro played like there was no tomorrow

💜💜💜💜
Moonbeam Levels toward the end (13:37); never released while alive. So many gems from early days.
Moonbeam Levels was actually released on the compilation album Prince 4Ever.
@@purple925677 after his death as I said
@@purple925677 So after his death... as I stated.

Fast forward to the top of the 2024 pop charts: the only musical instrument Drake or Shaboozey know how to play is their laptop
Laptop is an instrument. ;)
@@CurtOntheRadio - True, it can be... 🙂
Different space and time. Prince was cultivated in an environment and school system that was nurturing to musicians. Drake is an artist in his own right. They both are true to themselves.
12:52 ❤️
Computer blue for the first 2 minutes
Kinda - Actually Father’s Song. The inspiration for Computer Blue.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing!
Never have a artist again
Wow. Part Keith Jarrett, part George Winston, all Prince.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LIST THE SONGS? THIS IS AMAZING❤
@katiec6935... this is what I could pick up:
Father’s Song
Venus de Milo
A Case of You (with some improv riffs)
God
Raspberry Beret
You’re My Love
(some riffs?)
Wednesday
Do Me Baby
Moonbeam Levels
(some riffs? can’t recognize what he ended with)
1st ❤❤❤
That’s Computer Blue. Apparently he did a lot of different versions of it
Reminds of Keith Emerson a wee bit. Keith was a well accomplished pianist.
of ELP?
He was a lot better than a well accomplished player. Keith Emerson was a brilliant player.
And Quincy Jones said that Prince was an OK piano player.....🙄
The 3rd song is still unknown, as is the one after Moonbeam levels. If anyone knows which songs those are, let us know - it would be much appreciated.
Il joue déjà des morceaux de Parade ... qui paraitra 2 ans plus tard !
Is It Raspberry beret around 9' ?
does this have improved sound quality & is it official?
A super early version of The Grand Progression is after Raspberry Beret?
No, that is "You're My Love"
@@Fur2007Y I think you might be right. It just reminded me of the chorus of The Grand Progression
12:03 what song is this?
Just prior, it's noodling that sounds like an early incarnation of Venus De Milo. Then, it sounds like an improvised snippet of Rhapsody In Blue by Gershwin.
He then plays a short fast version of Wednesday and moves into Do Me Baby.
Wednesday....for Jill Jones
I didn’t even know he could play piano
A Renaissance man
He could play all instruments in making a song, like a one man band(literally)! PURE GENIUS!!
There some proto "Computer Blue" hidden in parts of that!!!
I caught that too!!! It fulfilled so much 😭 wow
Dunno about 'proto' - the song had been recorded live for the album at FirstAvenue six months earlier and was still being edited down (from 14 minutes) for the March pre-release and April final version of the album (4 minutes). Seems the final editing was done at Sunset Sound (just a few weeks after this recording) so there seems good reason he'd have it in mind (maybe he's trying out prospective edits here?)
Father's Song was incorporated into Computer Blue.
Self taught.
May Allah be pleased with his soul! 🙏🏿
Noodling. Like any improvisational pianist.
Noodling several masterpieces in one session...
@@dafonk7091 it sounds like you would be very surprised at what a typical improvisational keyboardist can do when playing a chord progression.
Simply beautiful
