FAUX LOCS WASH DAY | HOW I WASH AND MAINTAIN IN 5 QUICK STEPS

- Hey guys so here is a summarized version of how I wash and maintain my faux locs I try to do this about 1 a week if i go to the beach then i'll do this again right after I get home
You can apply the oil whenever you feel you need some extra hydration not on wash day. Same thing goes for the leave in Conditioner
For itchy scalp apply tea tree oil. Going to your local beauty supply store in the oils section you will find several oils and sprays that help relieve the itch, Tea tree oil is the one ive tried.
Mixing apply cider vinegar with water in a spray bottle into your roots helps remove some of the product build up you get.
I apply the cleansing conditioner with a pray bottle to get into specific areas I want and to also avoid clumping product onto the locs to prevent it getting stuck on ridge of the loc and causing more product build up.
For the locs coming loose I like to pull on the bottom re twist it pushing up the hair and then seal it again with hot water or a lighter.

How long do you wait before you do your wash routine?
After you use the spray bottle with cleasing conditioner. Do you rinse out in shower? I got lost on the next step.

My scalp used to be itchy and irritated all the time when i was wearing box braids, but apple cider vinegar saved me✋🏾😪just washit the braiding hair before putting it in helps A LOT.

How do you make them flatter? I wanted to try something new so I got crochet faux locs but they're too poofy. I tie it up every night and I've been using hot towels but it hadnt really made a difference. I've had them for about a wk but im tempted to take them out. She put in 60 braids. I didn't want a whole lot but it looks like it is. And we have to wear the graduation cap to walk.

gracias amor Lo hago mas o menos una vez a la semana a veces cada 2 semanas depende si voy a playa. Pero lo de aciete y el leave in conditioner lo hago cuando siento que mi cabeza lo necesita mas como "peinarme"
What type of faux locs do you use
are you saturating your head when rinsing out the cleansing conditioner? if not, how are you washing that conditioner out?
I was wondering this too. Trying this method now I think the 2nd best way to rinse other than getting your whole head wet is filling a different spray bottle with just water and saturating your scalp in that, section by section, massage the water in and then blot with the towel. Repeat until it doesn't feel sudsy anymore

How do you part your hair for this style? The parts don't look very uniform but they look so freaking good. And do you recommend square parts or triangle parts for this look?
yea i do that so it looks more "natural" lol thanks so i basically do whats considered the brick pattern but instead of sectioning it with a comb i use my fingers just so the parting isn't perfect looking. thanks!

Can your hair dread up from washing it under the faux locs?
not if your careful, havent had it happen, but I concentrate mostly on the scalp area to get rid of sweat and hydrate it. I also stick with a cleansing conditioner and not a shampoo because a shampoo is a bit harsher it isnt as soft.
Can the tea tree oil for face be used too?
Yes but be sure to dilute it. You can start off with a few drops in your toner if you like. That’s how I use it on my face (and back cuz this back acne is not the business lol😑) - it helps with dark spots and also ensures your face is clean after a wash bc sometimes there can still be dirt or oil left over. Hope this helps!

Ive updated that my routine since. I mix water in a bottle and i have a braid spray, i might update the process video soon. But i end up doing that to help a little , i end up taking them down soon after that✨
