It's really sad the number of people that dismiss Eric Esch (Butterbean) as a novelty. As a professional boxer he has 77 wins out of 91 fights, 58 by way of KO. and is a 4x World Champion. These weren't 'Harlem Globetrotter' fights, either. Those are amazing numbers for a boxer of any size.

The thing is, these "fat" guys are damn strong where it counts and that's in punching power. Plus they have the technique and experience.
That's for sure. Just seeing that "fat" dude swinging the other very big guy around like a rag doll, slamming him into the floor! He basically did that to a 150+ kg opponent, who even tried to fight back!
This is why there are different weight divisions. A world champion in a lighter weight division can be easily knocked out by an average boxer in the heavyweight division. The light boxer might be able to connect many punches, but the heavier boxer would only need a few to connect to get a stoppage.

I like the fact that I know who's gonna win every one, because of the title. I just ask myself, who's fatter? Bingo, that's gonna be the winner.
Twice the opponents weight doesn't count as a win.
We have some thick guys no muscles type in our M.T gym and it's interesting to see how flexible they are usually and have good Ko power punching power more that the super stiff muscular guys. It doesn't look like they have explosive power but you would be surprise by many of them when holding pad for them where i could see how heavy they could punch and I'm just mentioning regular guys with 2 years of boxing once a week...

the important thing to know about the difference between bodybuilders and strongmen is that they don't look the same. actual strongmen look more like fat guys, and bodybuilders look like dangerously dehydrated weightlifters.
Being lean, masculine is a developed power but being fat may be slow but pure straight..

Were is Brian Nielsen? He was the epiphany of fat guy loving food too much, but still a good boxer. I by the way did boxing training with his trainer, Poul Duvil, when he was getting ready to box Mike Tyson. Brian Nielsen fully knew, that he most likely were to slow for Tyson, but that he had a fighting chance in longevity, and he withstood the onslaught for 8 rounds at least. More than most anyway. He also only did withdraw and loose on a TKO, because of an eye damage in an early round. I am not suggesting, that he were about to win, not by a long shot, but he most likely could have gone all twelve rounds and then it would be open match.
The heavy guy in the second match has a ton of muscle! It's just covered with some fat. He's built like a NFL offensive lineman. These heavier guys are obviously better fighters!

Boxing announcers are without a doubt the most annoying people on the face of the earth.
