- The Slate Drake nymph is one of the bigger eastern mayflies. It's typically a very sporadic hatch, but because of the size of these bugs, the fish seem to pay attention and become opportunistic when they are in the process of hatching. They are very strong swimmers, so don't hesitate to be active with these flies throughout the drift.

I can honestly say I’ve never heard of this nymph. Is this a predominantly eastern fly or do you fish it out here in the West? Great video as always.
