Smoking and eating cannabis have different effects because when smoked it goes straight into the blood whereas when eaten it gets metabolized by liver enzymes into hydroxyTHC

I'm an alcoholic in recovery. Cannabis is a game changer for me also. I think there's a lot of neurodivergence in recovery meetings and untreated anxiety. Calling it untreated alcoholism seems to sound stupider as people become longer term abstinent but struggle with day to day life after years of putting down the drink. I would love to share my experience at an Aa meeting but the archaic set up won't accept this. 3 years using cannabis and mu life is so much better. I get so much peace.

SSRIs never worked (we tried every one out there), but farm bill hemp CBD with small amount of THC Delta 8 has been amazing. I call them electrical brain storms where he suddenly melts down... The farm bill hemp totally reduces these storms and brings him calm, anxiety free for a 3 to 4 hour intervals.

I pick up my prescription but don't use them anymore. They have a vile effect on my whole system but b4 using cannabis I used them for fear of consequences of a melt down.

I thought you were describing me for a second 😂 except the helmet part but he’s probably less brain damblaged than me lol I got so violent and I really never understood why and I look back and feel so guilty for that but I wasn’t managing my symptoms very well and hadn’t tried cannabis for it only occasionally hitting a joint but when I did it regularly it really helped even me out I’m also bipolar so it’s a great mood stabilizer and not harsh like the medication they gave me

Brilliant I hear you. Used to go to my bed and want to die after another episode. Mad episodes of ranting in the street supermarket public transport 😢 I don't do it anymore 3 years ago was last time. That was when I decided to not go out the door without a dose.

Makes me crazy when people say CBD didn't work but THC did. You didn't use enough CBD. If you go by the amounts on the bottle, it's not even close to enough for what our kids need. Where it says 4 drops, I was using 3 dropperfuls because I had a doctor and a CBD expert helping me get my son off antipsychotics. It took a year and we eventually added in THC, CBG and CBN.
If THC works, then CBD works, you just need a lot of it. Irritability comes from the body getting the itch scratched too lightly. They're now aware that CBD enhances how well THC works in your body. A THC booster if you will.
Also, buying from a reputable seed company and growing your own is far superior to buying anything at a dispensary, in my opinion. I can grow enough for a year from one grow, have it tested for less than $200 and know exactly what I have. It's easier to control your own grow conditions than depend on a grower to do it the same every time in a mass grow.
I enjoyed your podcast, lots of good information. This needs to be a more normalized conversation. Thank you for putting this information out there!

Everyone is different. And not everyone has the $$ to pay for large amounts of CBD, which is (generally) a lot more expensive than thc.

That's why the best edibles are 1:1 THC CBD for a fuller high or even more CBD when u need it more for medical reas9ns

@n.folch77 you are correct, high doses of CBD makes it very expensive. I was lucky enough to get a CBD company to sponsor us. All the CBD was free in exchange for a promotional video they did after using it for a few months. It doesn't hurt to ask a company to sponsor you.
Growing your own CBD and infusing oil is how I can afford it nowadays. Again, not everyone can do that. But you can do it, there's enough information on the internet to learn how to do it.

The level of certainty you have about what works or don't FOR OTHER PEOPLE is amazing.
      Everyone is different.
Your experience is not evidence about how other bodies work or don't.

Cannabis makes my Asperger's and adhd worse, how about that. Couldn't hold a job down, interaction with people was more difficult even two weeks after the use. It must be specific cannabinoids /strains, not just your high THC stuff. CBD alone was not effective either and made it slightly worse after a few months. So it's worth a try but don't get too excited over the hype.

The schedule - 1 designation came in w Nixon- in order to have something to arrest hippies (aka anti war demonstrators) and people of color for- widespread use in America since before the revolution. White people of the right social status didn’t get prosecuted to anywhere near the same degree. As a person mid diagnoses in my 60’s the notion that somekne would have to demonstrate out of control behavior in order to access medication that helps them is terrifying to me in its’s Dr. as overlord overtones. Please don’t advocate for “suffering means testing” to be part of cannabis access. That is utterly demoralizing to even hear anyone suggest it. Kind of like how women have to be dying of their non viable pregnancy before they can access an abortion. Whose side are you guys on???? Your kid only and never mind about everyone else? Ouch.
And - on the other hand terrific info and thank you for fantastic content otherwise.
