They never cross the ball when he's on the pitch. Even his Free kicks weren't that bad. Either on target or just over the bar.

Bernardo playing as a winger is also a big issue for width. He stays wide in build up but doesn't have the pace or ability to beat a defender 1-on-1 often simply because he doesn't have that elite short burst acceleration. They should be using another out and out winger at RW, maybe even start Dalot RB and playing Cancelo RW would be better imo.

hes been one of the best but every sportsman needs to know when its time to bow out and he seems like hes going the way of Ali getting outboxed by journeymen at the end. This Portugal team will be a lot better without him and unfortunately there is no one big enough in the Portugal setup to tell him its game over.
Playing 120 min in that game when he had done nothing and hit every free kick into row z sums it up. I think most people respect Ronaldo but denying that his personality and character doesn't have an effect on people around him would be silly. In most national teams he would be a sub you play at the 60th minute, but because of his personality and status, Portugal managers are basically forced to start him no matter what or else they will be berated by him or the media. He is also insanely expressive in both a good and bad way. He does these little tantrums throughout the game that aren't exactly uplifting for his team. I think having a conversation about him is totally fine and his status as one of the greats shouldn't automatically shield him from criticism.

And it was like that until his last day in Madrid, as Cristiano couldn't stand not being the best paid in the world (and he also had problems with tax authorities) he challenged Florentino but he refused his financial requests, and since he couldn't stand that, he decided that the best time to announce that he was leaving was right after the end of the Champions League, to turn what was a moment of celebration into a moment dedicated exclusively to talking about his departure.

Walk down the tunnel crying again making it all about him knowing full well he'd make the headlines. The truth is, as great as he has been he is not one of the worlds best players anymore, nor is he deserving of a portugal space other than because of his name and legacy, for his age he is insanely good- but compared to younger players he simply isnt which some people seem to find it hard to grasp. His fanboys seem to think hes benhamin button and ageing in reverse
Portugal would be my favourites to win the tournament if he even accepted a bench role and supersub role but nope he starts every game, takes every freekick, whole team has to be set up to cater to him and he STILL throws a tantrum if he gets subbed
The reason everyone walks on eggshells is his fans are as unhinged as taylor swift fans, even my comment will be met with people saying im biased and hate ronaldo

Ramos isn't a world class striker, at least yet as he's still young. But the best performance I've seen by Portugal in a major tournament was with Ramos scoring a hattrick. Against a Switzerland that always put up a fight as we've seen in the last decade. They play better without Ronaldo. Jota or Ramos actually work off ball. Try to combine with teammates. Ronaldo is about Ronaldo and his records.
