  • I had these delicious Prawn Curry on my last day of the Sri Lanka trip and I absolutelyyyy fell in love with it.
Served with Pol roti, coconut sambhal and a beautiful onion chutney, SRI LANKAN CEYLON PRAWN CURRY was a true flavor explosion.
The mix of spices, the aroma, the subtle sweetness of coconut and the use of moringa..all come together to create this mouthwatering dish.
When I made it at home, my family became a fan of it-they just couldn't get enough!
So today, I'm sharing the same recipe
    with you all.
    đŸ„˜Sri Lankan Curry Powder
    2 tbsp coriander seeds
    1 tbsp cumin seeds
    1 tbsp black pepper
    1 stick cinnamon
    4-5 cardamoms
    10 cloves
    2-3 dried red chillies
    1 tsp mustard seeds
    1/2 tsp fennel seeds
    1 tbsp rice
    1/4 tsp turmeric
Dry roast the spices on low heat till fragrant. Cool down and grind to a fine powder.
    đŸ„˜Curry recipe:-
    500 gms prawns
    1/4 tsp turmeric
    1/2 tsp salt
Marinade the prawns in turmeric and salt for 10 minutes.
    2 tbsp refined oil
    1 tsp of mustard
    20 curry leaves
    10-12 cloves of garlic sliced
    2 stalks of lemon grass
    1 inch ginger chopped
    4-5 fresh chillies
    1 large tomato chopped

Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
    Tamarind paste - 2 tbsp
    Moringa leaves - 7-8 stalks
    Salt to taste
    Coconut milk 2 cups
Heat the oil, and saute the aromats till the onion is transluscent. Add in the chillies and tomsto and cook till the tomatoes have softened.
Add i the prawns and saute for 5 minutes. Add in the coconut milk, curry powder and other spices and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Add in the moringa leaves and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve hot with coconut sambal and pol roti.
    đŸ«“Pol rotis
POL ROTI is a coconut flatbread that goes great with all sorts of dishes such as dals curries or with a chutney.
Think of it like a yummy coconut paratha. I enjoyed mine with Sri Lankan prawn curry, coconut sambal, and different kinds of chutneys. You can try it with whatever you like!
    Here's how to make it:
    1 cup dessicated coconut
    1/2 cup coconut milk
    Salt to taste
    1 medium chopped onion
    2-3 chopped green chillies
    1 tsp sugar
    2 cups flour
    Water to knead a dough
Make a dough of everything. Dough should not be sticky.
Take a ball of dough and flatten with your hands to make 3 inch circle. I like my pol rotis thin so i flattened it as thin as possible. It can be made about 1/2 inch thick too. Depending upon how you would like it.
Now cook on tawa without oil for 3-4 minutes each side, till its slightly golden on both and centre is cooked through. Please make sure to increase cooking time if you made thicker pol rotis.
đŸŒŽđŸ„„Have you heard of Sri Lankan Coconut Sambol
It's this amazing chutney-like dish that's super flavorful and just the right amount of spicy.
    The best part?
You only need a few ingredients to whip it up, and you can eat it with literally anything - dosa, roti, parathas, rice... You name it!
Once you've tasted it, you'll want to make it all the time at home. It's just that delicious!
    Here's the easy peasy recipe:
    1 cup fresh grated coconut
    1 medium onion finely chopped
    1/2 tsp red chilli powder
    1 tsp red chilli flakes
    1 red chilli fresh
    Salt to taste
    Lemon juice 2 tsp
