@@KyleKholin i'd wait until you had more subs which you will as the ptx fans will come! because only a percent will either have the money to spend or will spend the money. and you want to have more people to draw from but its a good idea. also as you are thinking about it in the next while think of things other than just tshirts so those of us that are both poor and can't wear tshirts bcz we're fat could have something to buy. bcz i might have to save up to get something but i want to support you! (seriously i have 6 cents left until the 3rd of next month and that isn't unusual for me at this time :) )

I've been waiting for your reaction to "Video Killed The Radio Star" since your first video. It is the one that made me fall in love with PTX.

One thing I love about Pentatonix is that they didn't take the judges' occasional criticism as something that should discourage them, but rather as advice on what they should work on to keep getting better. And the judges didn't even really criticise them that often and if, then it was on details. Ben's criticism in the last episode was the only time it was a bit heavier than usual.
Yeah, they were just as hungry for the constructive criticism as they were for the praise because it helped them improve. I think if they'd just been told "that was great" every time they wouldn't have improved as much and as quickly as they did, it really helps that any criticism is always helpful, some reactors have accused Ben Folds of nitpicking but I think his comments really helped them become such an incredible band in such a short time.
The pure JOY on your face while watching this brings back when I discovered them during season 3... Great reaction. 12 competition performances plus a 13th at the end of the season and a followup Christmas performance the following season as a return act.
Love your reactions. The next performance is when they really hit their stride in my opinion. I think it's when we first see how amazing they are.

Who is the ONE person disliking this man's videos? I've watched all but one and I've loved every single one.
There were 11 episodes in season 3 of The Sing-Off. Pentatonix was in episodes 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. I wonder if you would be interested in also reacting to the big multi-group collaborative performances that kick off each episode. I don't recall seeing any Sing-Off reactor do that. In the episodes that feature PTX, they are part of the group effort. I think those mega-group songs are very well done, in contrast to the attempts at group performances on other singing competitions like American Idol, X-factor or The Voice. No doubt it's because a cappella singers are used to working and harmonizing well with each other.

Great reaction! Some of Ben Folds' critiques of their first few performances seemed harsh, but he is a performer and arranger who really knows his stuff, and PTX took it all in. There was a clip at the end of one video where they all agree that everything the judges told them was "gold", and you could see it as they grew together during the show. I think it's funny that they had been a group for about a month, competing against a group that started in the 60s! And don't worry - they are only getting started.
I felt that the next 2 performances (#4 & #5) put them in the lead to stay. The judges certainly wanted them to continue because of their potential, taking risks, and interesting arrangements with only 5 people in the group.
Just a quick heads up...in the next performance they talk about the criticism they received and to alleviate any confusion, the second and third performances were done on the same night
I love this performance and I believe this is where they become untouchable in the competition.

I watched Penatonix on the sing off originally about a year ago it's so fun watching you watch them and seeing your facial expressions expecialily when they do something that surprises you!

It's so much fun to watch them find their niche and to see them come together in the beginning of what we know of them today!
This performance is from the same night as the last one - so even if the critique made them want to stop taking chances, they couldn't change for this one. (and don't worry - one of the things that won them the show was their willingness to take big chances - all the way to the finale)
This was the second of two songs done on the same ep/day. When I was watching the broadcast, the Kesha cover just drew a shrug from me (except for the scratch stop), and I was really leery before they started singing this one since Janis is such an iconic singer. Like the judges, though, I was also impressed that they took a completely different angle in the song. Super smart of them to go reggae, and I enjoyed it.
The next song is where I became a Pentaholic, though-definitely looking forward to your reaction to it!
Every week they get better and better imo, can't wait for the next reaction!!
Performance four is when they really started coming into their own.
This was the second part of the same episode as Your Love Is My Drug so they hadn't had time to change their arrangement because of judge's criticism. But they didn't really shy away from anything - they kept saying (paraphrasing) "We're worried that it's too much of a risk but we're going to do it anyway" lol
They were on 9 episodes out of 11 for this season and have 15 performances (some episodes had 2 or 3 performances)
You should react to home free on the song off. They one the season right after Pentatonix! There amazing live!

I agree. I am a pentaholic, but Home Free is amazing as well. Tim Foust sings lower than Avi. Pentatonix members and Home Free members have appeared together in some videos (not sing off ones). Peter Hollens is another CZcams a cappella singer you should investigate. He has sung with Scott and Avi. Most of Peter's videos (especially the early ones), he is the ONLY singer. He does beatboxing and sings all the parts.

Just want to take a moment to thank you for being one of the rare intelligent reactors on CZcams. As I'm sure you're well aware, so many of the reaction videos are unwatchable because of the silliness, the lack of musical knowledge, and the filthy language they feel is necessary to get their mindless point across. Please know you are much appreciated and a real pleasure to watch. It's no surprise your subscribers are growing at such a pace. I'm a fan and hope you are in it for the long haul.

Also you might want to check out Dartmouth airs, urban method and yellow jackets from season 3. Plus season 4 winners home free are also very good and have done really well in the country circuit so if you like country you might be interested in them as a group to check out.

As I watch the beginning of the Sing Off clip, I am reminded of what I thought when I first saw it during the Sing Of Season 3.... Perspective sure is interesting. "The 60s was fun" or "the 60s were an innocent" and "hopeful" time.... Ok, sure, for a lot of people. BUT... Civil Rights fight ring a bell for anybody?.... Then I tell myself, perhaps they meant musically. I TELL myself that so I could go through the rest of the episode without thinking more about it because the music was amazing.
There is 12 performances in all... my personal favourite is #12 :)
There are actually 15 - there are two in the finale as well as the song they sing after they win. (one could say there are more if you include the performances from the christmas show that aired a week later - and their two return performances in season 4 and 5) ;)

Baha!!! You say that every-time, and then you say that too, every-time. Just leave your concerns elsewhere, they are PTX, 5 Angels from Heavens top Choir!!! Pesonally, I think they did this far better than Joplin, don't get me wrong, I liked her music, I liked her band, but I always hated hearing her voice screech out like a great grandmother who smoked 15 packs of cigarettes a day. Anyway, that's my personal preference and PTX perfects everything they ever touch, at least since they went professional. You'll see that there are few of these that just aren't quite up to PTX level of perfection, but here, they are just finding their groove. Peace, Love and Light Kyle.

Agreed! I've been suggesting that on the last two videos. The backstage stuff is great, especially since it always comes right after what the judges have said, so they're still feeling the emotion from their performance as well. I think some of that post-performance interview content actually shows their growth too and how more invested they become with each other and winning the show.

They should've tried to replicate the original because trying to make it their own didn't work. Kevin could've done the singing because he sounded like her when he was doing the horn.

Look up Home Free. There a country acapella group with an even stronger bassist. Suggestion song is Hillbilly Bone by Blake Shelton. It has a lot of bass in it and I think you'll really love it.

The forth performance is "Video Killed The Radio Star" and you may not get to react to that one and download it. Most reactors who have tried, it has been taken down and blocked for Copyright. Just a heads up. It was an amazing performance though.
For about 18months and until about a year ago the video was being blocked but I've not seen/heard anyone blocked for about a year now.
He will be able to react to it because I have been able to watch the whole sing off season 3 on Albert Makalew channel and the episode was not blocked so it’s fine for him to react to it and what I mean by this is if it was copyrighted you would not have been able to watch it and I’ve seen many people react to it and they are not copyrighted
