Is the McLaren 570S better than a Porsche 911 Turbo? Both are raw - but this British beast is very different.

I live in manhattan as well, getting this McLaren in September! all the insurance agents told me its going to get KEYED, Amazing car so might as well just take the risk!

There is no "standard" 570, just the 570S. It's not a "sportier" version of 570. 570C also exists, a slightly detuned version that was introduced after 570S and is not available on US market. And the bit more luxurious 570GT. That's it, no 570.
you're right there is no 570. Also its the 540c not the 570c.

Thanks for the comment, Jasmin. We were keeping things simple - but you’re right, compared to the 570GT, which is, like you say, more luxurious, the 570S is more 'sport oriented.' (Though both would blow the doors off of, well, pretty much everything else on the road.)

ghost Silva GT is a little heavier and softer. Probably the better of the two cars though.

I recently decided on an almost new Porsche 991.2 instead of the much sexier and more exotic McLaren 12c due to reports of poor reliability and ridiculous repair costs. I'm now watching the resale market for 570s with hopes that in about 2022, they might be available for less than $150k and (importantly) reliability and overall cost of long term ownership will be significantly improved. So far I don't hear much about this. Surely I'm not the only auto enthusiast who wants to actually drive my sports cars every week. BTW I do think McLaren currently makes the absolute best looking cars on the planet... Exterior and interior.
Best of luck with your search - the 570 remains an absolutely stellar car. If you find a reliable example, you won't regret it for a moment.

Hello, @GearPatrol i am moving to NYC soon but all i've seen from videos are roads that are so congested, crowded with people and unlevelled tarmac, the roads that you shot this videos from are they from the outskirts of NYC? or if possible may i know which part they are, cause im have a hard time to choose a place to stay due to the imaginated congestion.

This guy doesn't make any sense whatsoever. First he says you can hear all the horse power, sorry but it's a Turbo. You can't hear it all, turbo's muffle the exhaust sound. Secondly he says that a Porsche 911 is "Raw" because it's had 50 years of evolution and precise step change. LOL. What language are you speaking?

I think the bit about the raw 911 and 50 years of evolution is code for the 911 is is a very old VW Beetle.
The 911 Turbo is "raw" because "it's benefitted from 50 years of evolution"?! Surely it makes it refined, perfected, indeed anything but raw? Why does being born of Formula 1 make the McLaren "raw"? It might make it clinical, sterile, over engineered by the pinnacle of motorsport, but not raw. These are $200k cars filled with driver aids and alcantara, they are anything but raw. A TVR Cerbera is raw because it's an archaic V8 bolted to a tubular frame with wheels attached and little more; an Ariel Atom is raw because it's lack of body exposes the driver to the elements; a Morgan three wheeler is raw because it's exposed wooden chassis demonstrates the craftsmanship that went in to building it. I can see how you would want to find a common theme between the two and go full circle for your summary at the end but you picked the wrong theme.
