Big shoutout to Tony Anderson instagram.com/ptonypterodactyl and Brady from Alaskan Tapes instagram.com/alaskantapes for helping to score this video. Fantastic musicians so check out their work!
Hi, I adore your videos. I'm from Kazakhstan and here are many mountains and beautiful places. I wish you come and get a good pleasure from the infinity of a large spaces here! 😄
So I wanna change my life, I'm poor and have nothing but me, I don't have family due to being in a children's home when I was younger.... Can you help me. I would love to just experience what it's like to survive for you self for a while before I make that big step to travel the world.. Please if you are reading this I'm serious and I really need you're help. I do understand if you can't or don't want anyone traveling with you. Thanks man, thanks for giving me a but of hope.
It’s amazing! He doesn’t have a cameraman...and he have to go and return for take some good pictures !!!
Good job 👍 Greeting from Russia
@@ForestForester Id do it for free and I wouldn't think twice about getting on a plane tomorrow
Hi Kraig, love the videos! Can you talk about how you got over the fear of hiking solo in bear country? :)
I can’t believe how can i watch this type of content for free
Bro shut up , now he’s gonna charge us ..
Seriously. Everyone I know watches TV & pays for it. Celebrity negativity instead of this

Nothing is for free..
Yeah,,, thanks to the supporting channel members, occasional sponsors, Adsense and Kraig's own zeal to travel and share that experience with us. The internet's amazing.
My man fully commited with minimalism got rid of his belongings, now he's out there in the wild living the present, so proud of him.
Watched this video when it was released and two days later planned the trip. Completed this loop with my wife last week. We did it in 8 days.... stupid beautiful.
@Chamaka Senarath
Of course!
See that's what freaks me out. Bears!!! In Switzerland or Austria....Zero bears....comparable nature
I’m a local of Boise and I’ve been up in the sawtooths a bit and have tons of friends that have as well. Nobody I know has ever seen a bear in the Sawtooths. The forest service says there are black bears but again; I’ve never heard of anyone seeing any. None of us locals use a bear canister or do any beer hangs. I don’t even bring bear mace. It all seems unnecessary especially since there are no grizzlies.
If there's no grizzlies, I'm sold on hikin' this trail!
@@mattmiller6246 No offense but this is bad advice. I did this loop last year and ran into two black bears within 20 minutes of each other. One of which was literally 6ft away from me when I rounded a blind corner. Not hanging your food is irresponsible. Statistically more people are killed every year by black bears than by grizzlies.

That would be me LOL! Just got home yesterday from my summer hikes. Was a good summer and it was crazy to see Kraig on the trail! He's taller than I thought he'd be. Good times!
@@DarrellAnglen I hope you enjoyed those hikes. PS: Sorry I misspelled your name!
The sound of walking on gravel is low-key ASMR. And I love how you get the sound of the next shot, before seeing it.
Feel exactly the same way Tanya...and I love the Sawtooths
Lol his channel's theme is asmr. No talking. No nonsense. Just beautiful nature and it's beautiful natural sounds. Minimalism.
just tying to show not tell. natural sounds done well can almost be like music :)
Yes very true...
He's a better director/producer than Rian Johnson...
Dunno why but these 'no talk just hike' vids are really chilled. Anyone know of any other channels like this?
Heavily inspired by Kraig, I'm trying the same aesthetic!

👍 Denis Isaev - fantastic cinematic videos czcams.com/channels/ZjxR-b9yPPjhbTVKsdKtLQ.html
Eric Normark, Bruno Pisani. Eric is in Sweden in the forest near the ocean ,not so much in big mountains with views. He goes out all four seasons with very little talking and the sounds of nature. Bruno is in the Italian Dolomites. Very into filming in high up spots with great views with the sun and stars.

I realy like your videos they make me feel calm but at the same time excited to go on adventures.
That shot at 5:44 deserves an award
I agree! I was wishing he'd flipped the image to look like a still shot, then the leaf falls
Ha! The moment when you find your old comments by chance
The greatest thing about this is the amount of work this guy put in. Not only did he hike 70 miles, he also had to carry some kind of camera equipment with him. That could potentially be a lot of extra weight. Everytime he sets up a camera he has to go back and get it. This is crazy.
I grew up in Jackson, WY, just over the border from Idaho. Such a gorgeous place. I hiked all the time as a kid, I'm so glad I picked it back up now. Daily hikes have changed my life!
I don't think I'd ever be able to finish the trail. I'd just plop down in awe of one of those vistas and realize five hours had passed and I hadn't moved an inch. Beautifully done! A spectacular way to remind everyone that there is still natural beauty in the world and it is worth preserving.
I have the same problem when I do these hikes in beautiful places. I make slow progress because am constantly stopping to watch the view and take photos and video to remember.
A lot of people laugh when I tell them I’m from Idaho. I’ll just send them this vid from now on 👌 thank you, great job man.
C.A. Newcomb keep it a secret for as long as you can.
why would anyone laugh! you can be from any part of the world. why would it be something to laugh at. Idaho is gorgeous!!

This channel is one of the best I’ve come across. Less talking. Less music that is overwhelming. Great job!! 👍🏼
Idaho native here and I can attest to the beauty of that high country. You truly feel like you're the first human to set foot there.
Until u find trash. Watch Les Stroud. There is ALways rubble. Slobs.
I don’t meditate .. I don’t need to. I watch Craig Adams hiking videos. Then I’m at peace and my life is in balance. Work of art as usual.
This is wild. I was there just yesterday! Native Idahoan backpacking for the first time. Went to Alpine and Sawtooth lakes. Beautiful place, thanks for this!
I don’t know whether it’s Kraig’s film style or him as a person or the awesome places his hikes take us to - or all the above... but I hope he’s flattered that I too am trying to record my adventures (In Kansas, no less) using a similar technique on CZcams. Kraig’s style - and let’s be real - this is all thx to him - takes us back to a time where it was more important to listen and be present, appreciate the splendor of a visual, the serene environment and how it sounds - than a droning monologist giving you all the info in rapid fire segments. Kraig’s stuff just hits the right tone and is a constant reminder that simplicity is often the right answer. Bravo man! Seriously!
Videos like this are just what the world needs to see. At a time when there is so much ugly going on this type of video lets you see that there is still rare beauty to find and see. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I will say- Kraig, that this video is very giving than your other hiking videos. You are inviting people who watch to have a similar experience or want the same experience and providing clear and explanatory information to give us the power to do so.
All-in-all, I like this format and encourage you to keep going =)
30fps gives it more of a TV Nature Doc feel, but I think it works. It gave the wind blowing through the grass and flowers a dreamy feel. Love the longer updates at the end, let us know how the nomad setup ends up going this time around.
I was a backpacking guide up in the Sawtooths for the last five years. Honestly, haven't found anywhere else that feels as magical as this hidden gem in central Idaho.
Any chance you can advise me on what to bring on a two night backpacking trip in the sawtooths? I am going mid-september with my gf. Thanks!
"Hidden" lol
When we drove through Idaho on the way back from Montana, I was astounded at the incredible beauty everywhere I looked. Stunning and the most beautiful place I've ever been!! This video is incredible!!
The "ripples" shot is my favorite shot so far (13 minutes in).
Reminds me of that quote by Mother Teresa "“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” With 436k subscribers, you better believe you have influence.
I love seeing creation through your lens, it brings a calm to me in the middle of the chaos. Thanks Kraig.
I only hope he can influence people to be better than Mother Teresa, she was after all a bit of a scumbag

The soundtrack feels like walking meditation journey, its self, loving your sound choices, bless you Kraig!
Kraig, owner of a digital media company for 30 years. This is some of the finest capture and editing I’ve seen. Keep the same format in your videos, it just works. Hike with background music and overlay the sounds of the hike itself. Last part of the video you explain the technical stuff. Some damn fine editing to boot. Keep things the same for all your videos and you will hit 1 million subscribers. You are doing something unique here and the talent is evident. Keep up the good work Kraig.
The shots in this video are literally insane. Beautiful trail, for sure feeling inspired to conquer it myself and adding it to my list of trails to hike and adventure on. Thank you for the video brother.
insane how I live only 2 hours from there and hardly knew this beauty existed.
You're so lucky mate, go out and explore, what I would give to be able to go there
The sawtooths are a real hidden gem
Yeah, I live in Twin Falls, Idaho and the Sawtooth Mountains are amazing!
I’m from Boise!
Awww your'e so lucky
As always beautiful. Much love from Himalayas, Everest region 🇳🇵🇳🇵
The videography and editing are so beautiful! Never get tired of these, it's so calming and a perfect escape.
That was absolutely stunning! That’s all, when you see such beauty through amazing cinematography you don’t need to say more. I love your silent films!!!
I love this style of quietness ...it truly makes you feel, hear, and see the beauty more. The music is amazing too 🥰. I look forward to every video. These videos are soothing to the soul especially during these covid isolation months. Medicine for the soul
Kraig has show me more beauty in nature than television has ever done in my 24 years of being alive
I feel like the non-narrative style of this was a win. I have hiked this loop and portions of it several times and to see it from your lense is awesome and great drone footage. Thanks for sharing...
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing your adventures!
"Your Face looks like you" 😂😁so wholesome 👌🏻
Beats scenes and edit. Music is perfect compliment to the visuals.
4:07 into the video and could tell how beautiful the scenery, editing and music would be... amazing
this is one of the best way of stress reliever. be one with nature and enjoy every moment without gadgets and internet.
This is the best hiking film I’ve seen in ages. Thanks so much for leaving it with just the music. Some of the scenes are so beautiful they moved me to tears 👌👍❤️
I never realized Idaho is so beautiful.
Love this video style. The silent film style was so peaceful and felt like I was there in nature. I liked the AAR at the end detailing info about the route too. Thank you for the content.
We went to Idaho this year, fully self contained (except fuel refills) and hiked the Sawtooth Mountains as well. This brings it back .. thank you.
Peaceful. Just watching your videos gets rid of my day's anxiety somehow
My favorite just quiet music and sounds of footsteps and beautiful scenery
Thanks Kraig, I enjoyed it. The aerial shots and ground shots were skillfully done. Look forward to seeing more of your work.
Thank you for this one. Needed this so much!
Idaho is severely underrated in terms of natural beauty
No it’s ugly. Just potatoes.
It actually doesn’t exist
@@matwest711 I agree, I heard California is a good place to move!
Magnificent, inspiring, and beautifully done! By far, one of the best hiking vids out there. The "No dialog" approach with such quality video and editing is a breath of fresh air! And the "guide" at the end is so helpful for people like me who would like to hike such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing!
Thank You Kraig, you make my day everyday. The sound with the music, this is one of the best videos. Nice to relax..... I can feel alive again with these videos, Thank You again. Have a great Day, or Night!!!
I must like this before I even watch. Thank you so much for the inspiration and the motivation to start doing this kind of videos myself too, Kraig.
Much love! ❤
Other hiking videos show us a pretty place. Kraig’s videos tell us a story about a man living a free life of adventure while interacting with the beautiful place.
Brandon Davis well said
👍🎂
Yes! Kraig's films are 'deep', but as far from pretentious, vanity or egotistical as you can get. He somehow 'connects' us to the total experience, rather than just broadcast 'look what I did'.
he is rushing through trails because he needs content. Rushing through trails is counterintuitive to the entire idea of being out there. I don't mean to be a dick but how is 20+ miles a day realistic? He says himself that he did it too fast. I just think he should relax more and take his time.
Owen Meany well yea. Or else he wouldn’t upload on YT. And he’s doing it for free so what’s the problem?
Hey, I tried out your Sawtooth loop trail with my 3 kids! I was about to take them to the Wind Rivers, but when we saw your beautiful video, we changed our plans last minute since I hadn’t done the Sawtooths yet. It was amazing! Thanks for the inspiration and keep doing what you do.
Such a beautiful compilation of hiking the Sawtooths! I appreciate the "silent movie" so much!!!! Thank you for sharing!
Lovely video as always, and the extra behind-the-scenes commentary was much appreciated. Hope you're staying safe while traveling.
As always, another beautifully composed piece of art by Kraig. Your adventures have been a good way for me to relive my own expeditions while locked down during university studies. Keep on walking, my dude.
Thank you so much for this clip! Amazing scenery and a great piece of videography! Also thanks for sharing your tips and experience as a hiker!
This is an incredible peace of work that deeply connects anyone to the outdoors. What it's like for many of us when we're out there.
Wow! Didnt know idaho is that Beautiful!
It's not. Everybody stay away.
Congrats on getting out of NYC and living nomadically for a while! I'm looking to get out of the city and do the same. And, as always, the film is masterful!

Thank you brother! I couldn't leave home today. And this has been a phenomenal journey!!! 🔥🙏
The hiking part of the video was absolutely beautiful; couldn't be any better! Your effort is so very much appreciated. HUGE THANK YOU!
I knew something was different about this one, I thought Kraig must be experimenting with a new frame rate...and then you confirmed it in the BTS. Just my opinion, but I prefer the look of your older videos (specifically the drone footage and 24 fps full frame), but love that you experiment and are always trying new things. Much respect as always!
Agreed. 23.98 is always where you want to be.
yeh, me too the clips taken with the A7 on his hikes were something special but can understand going smaller/lighter
Agree with this assessment! Still 24fps for me, but good on him for trying out 30

Congratulations brother for such amazing work, I admire your work and I have to say I may be speaking for a lot of us out here... you’re a pretty cool inspiration!
I'm guessing the 59 thumbs down are from native Idahoan's like myself just trying to keep this to ourselves. Beautiful work!
Just finished this exact loop starting and finishing at Iron Creek, also solo. It's truly an incredible trip.
I plan to be there in September, as of now is there any restrictions for outsiders, visiting Idaho, ? Been researching about quarantine and all that stuffs before I get the flights!! Any tips and advice please do share, thanks a lot
@@5thlakeadventures Yo! To the best of my knowledge, there is no restrictions for non-Idahoans coming to visit. However, Boise/Ada County and a couple other places have legal mandate for wearing masks outside and inside. Stanley, Idaho, where the Sawtooths are located does not have a mandate right now. A few backpackers and hikers were wearing masks just while passing people on the trail. You should be alright.
Luke Kempers awesome,
Thank you very much. I also called the city office and asked, but that Lady said stage 3 right now and that is 14 days quarantine for outsiders. I got to think about it, atleast 6-8 hrs total to get there by flight so I want to be sure. Thank you once again my friend. Namaste 🙏

Why not just look at his supplied link to his 'Alltrails map? It shows 61 miles for the route. Camera work and some brief off trail jaunts after setting up camp in order to seek alternate views can easily add another 9 miles.
www.alltrails.com/explore/map...
I'm only a couple minutes in and I couldn't ignore the thought of the amount of time it had to take to have the tripod set up, record multiple takes and angles of the same dramatic walking away scene. I had to make sure I wasn't the only one who noticed this so I had to check the comments!
Самый годный контент в плане хайкинга. Соглашусь с тем, что не надо вставлять голос в сам маршрут. Удачи и новых маршрутов!
I LOVE your videos. So relaxing, well done and beautiful. Your follow up at the end with good tips and info is icing on the cake! Thanks!
Wow. I worked in the sawtooth valley and did out and back hikes to every peak and lake, but never got to do that whole loop. What a cool trip and beautifully filmed, scored and edited!
It's only 70 miles because of how many times you have to walk back for the camera Kraig :D

absolutely phenomenal. I can watch your videos for hours, it makes me feel like I'm out camping or hiking even when I'm at my desk job
Aren't there bears or cougar's or wolves around!? I would love to hike around such beautiful places, but don't want to become a happy meal either..
Bears yes, they want nothing to do with you. Cougars yes, they would rather remain away from a human sized opponent. Wolves not so much in this area but they are more common elsewehere in Idaho, but it's extremely rare to see them or cougars unless you are experienced and looking for them.
@wayouttatune2 Unless you're in grizzly country there's really not much to worry about aside from moose. They are the real dangerous ones. But again they are generally uninterested in human contact.
Hike with a bell on your pack Manu V. Be loud if you are alone.
@wayouttatune2 They are moving back into northern Idaho but there are none in the Sawtooths or surrounding regions, closest grizzly to this video would be in Yellowstone.
@@nickmcgarvey6463 Hiking from grandjean up to Ardeth Lake we ran into a Bear and then a Cougar and then another Bear ! It was an amazing day the 2nd bear look like a grizzly standing up on 2 legs ...blonde head hair ! He eventually moved up the mountain. I did report it to the fishing game though. I have heard of other sightings of possible grizzlies in the Atlanta area .
I am going to add my voice to the 24 fps crowd. For some odd reason, 30 fps just makes it seem to much like I am watching sports.
P.S. - I hope you got her number!
Love the Sawtooths. Some of the most beautiful wilderness in the country. Thanks for sharing!
Well done! Thanks for letting the sights and sounds of Nature speak for themselves. Outstanding camera work, too.
