      I’m a local of Boise and I’ve been up in the sawtooths a bit and have tons of friends that have as well. Nobody I know has ever seen a bear in the Sawtooths. The forest service says there are black bears but again; I’ve never heard of anyone seeing any. None of us locals use a bear canister or do any beer hangs. I don’t even bring bear mace. It all seems unnecessary especially since there are no grizzlies.

Hike with background music and overlay the sounds of the hike itself. Last part of the video you explain the technical stuff. Some damn fine editing to boot. I don’t know whether it’s Kraig’s film style or him as a person or the awesome places his hikes take us to - or all the above... but I hope he’s flattered that I too am trying to record my adventures (In Kansas, no less) using a similar technique on CZcams. Kraig’s style - and let’s be real - this is all thx to him - takes us back to a time where it was more important to listen and be present, appreciate the splendor of a visual, the serene environment and how it sounds - than a droning monologist giving you all the info in rapid fire segments. Kraig’s stuff just hits the right tone and is a constant reminder that simplicity is often the right answer. Bravo man! Seriously!

    The perfect person to have with you when your 50 miles away from civilization and your Car breaks down and the cell phones are dead. I can hear it now " What are we gonna do now, no one will find us were doomed" Kraig " Hold my Beer"...walks out knocks out a quick 50, and has everyone back in camp for dinner. Love your Videos!

    Music only and wilderness scenes is the next best thing to being able to escape the suffocation of society right now. Love it. Your work is excellence itself Mr Adams, as usual. (obviously the talking that did happen....was also excellence. I've been on the Sawtooths for trail work, and its great to hear its pretty well maintained still. Also, just in case it helps anyone, Idaho trails routinely undercalculates its trail mileage, which I think is great....because it burns out the weak people and the trails are nicer as a result)

      @lukerz00 Před 3 lety +1

      @@5thlakeadventures Yo! To the best of my knowledge, there is no restrictions for non-Idahoans coming to visit. However, Boise/Ada County and a couple other places have legal mandate for wearing masks outside and inside. Stanley, Idaho, where the Sawtooths are located does not have a mandate right now. A few backpackers and hikers were wearing masks just while passing people on the trail. You should be alright.

      Thank you very much. I also called the city office and asked, but that Lady said stage 3 right now and that is 14 days quarantine for outsiders. I got to think about it, atleast 6-8 hrs total to get there by flight so I want to be sure. Thank you once again my friend. Namaste 🙏

    I knew something was different about this one, I thought Kraig must be experimenting with a new frame rate...and then you confirmed it in the BTS. Just my opinion, but I prefer the look of your older videos (specifically the drone footage and 24 fps full frame), but love that you experiment and are always trying new things. Much respect as always!

      I get where you're coming from, but when it comes to hiking or outdoors adventures I associate the term 'solo' with 'challenge' or a 'first', breaking a record or something considered risky or extreme, which have their place. But the term 'alone' in this context seems apt. It has a kind of 'Yearning, searching for something, a need to reconnect with something other, to find completeness, wholeness' ring to it, and nature provides.
