Celtic have quite a history with the MLS and the US college setup. Going back many years. But its not been fruitful. AJ is the exception, and he is brilliant. Andrew Gutman was ok in the friendlies he played but never quite developed as hoped. Manny Perez never got a chance. And many European players who never made it at Celtic have done well in MLS. Its a growing sport and its getting better, but whilst the players are usually exceptional athletes as most US sportsmen are, they have still got a journey ahead to be tactically and technically ready for European football. It would be great if Celtic could have a partnership tie in with an MLS team for the future benefit of both clubs.

@@Kevinmcfc94 Celtic currently have 6 wingers in the first team, 6 Centre backs, 2 LBs, and Rodgers has said they will be signing a striker. Why do we need more than that? We have by far the best and deepest squad in Scotland.
Improving for Europe isn't worth it, would be an illogical decision by the club...it achieves zero except eating into cash reserves for no reward.

To suggest the club needs to be bought over is ridiculous and short-sighted. The club is at the most stable and secure position it's ever been at. We'd all love to see shiny new signings but the clubs position has ALWAYS been to be frugal and sensible with money, the clear strategy going forward is to invest in youth development and that is why they're putting together the new youth training facilities. In terms of financial strategy they'd see it as just not worth the risk to speculate any higher for European success, not when they can save money by focusing on continued domestic success. That's just the way it is.

Unfortunately we are ran with non football competitive ambitious men who purely see this as a profitable business for themselves. No ex playing staff or football men in the boardroom is a big tell. Look at Dutch clubs for example. Directors littered with a rich history of ex players who make football decisions while being sensible financially. Ajax a few years ago reaching a CL semi, feyenoord and PSV are miles ahead in the European club rankings over us. Something needs to change but too many of our fans are allowing it. Wouldn’t be surprised if seeing our main domestic rivals struggle financially again has tightened the purse strings for us. Sick of it.
