Nice work. After watching your videos I’m convinced that is the most poorly built building out there lol. No disconnects on the roof AC’s, three way switches wired with 14/2 and so much more. That’s the type of stuff they could get away with back in the day. When it wasn’t built right to start with it can be very difficult to work on but you do an awesome job.
If you don’t know what refrigerant is in the system… check the standing pressures and get the corresponding temperature and you’ll be able to see what it is based on a PT chart or just looking at the app for your probes.
Why don’t you ever install expansion tanks, just curious because plumbers seem to make a huge issue if you don’t . They say by not having one causes sever damage to your plumbing from back pressure plus it’s now code in most jurisdictions . Are they really necessary? We’ve never ever had one and we haven’t had any plumbing issues.
@Vic-59 exp tanks are good for gas water heaters. All of mine are electric. There is not one on the entire property. If there was a psi problem, I would install one. Or if there was a well water with a pump
i think u can do a continuety test using the thermostat wires by wiring the a/c wires together at the stat then doing the continuety test on the thermostat wires going to the a/c

The first AC job you need to have the panel cover on the air handler otherwise the motor won’t go on to the high-speed godfather of air-conditioning

I hear you but that would be a bit of work, would have to open each ac to check the wires. this way its a non contact test and its very fast.
