  • Get a detailed look at the features and benefits of the all new 2023 Aquaglide Cirrus 150.
    The Cirrus Ultralight 150 is 15’ long, yet weighs only 18 pounds - it’s a true tandem kayak designed with the extreme light weight and stowability of a pack raft that offers unparalleled speed and performance. It’s Aquaglide’s lightest tandem touring kayak thanks to the TPU/ Nylon construction and TPU drop-stitch floor. This technology yields minimal weight in a kayak that doesn’t sacrifice an ounce of performance. This boat comes with a compression storage bag for packability in extra tight spaces and serves double duty as a drybag for clothing and gear. The Cirrus 150 is designed with ease of transport in mind, perfect as a 2-person tandem kayak, but also for solo paddling, with a furry friend, or loaded down with gear.

      It's also doubles as a compression and dry bag, all rolled up into a storage bag 👌

    when will the cirrus model be coming out, that sits in size between the 110 and the 150?

    This is the kayak I wanted and the rep sold me on the Blackfoot 130 which he assured me met the sub 62" linear measurements for check on luggage on airplane. He was wrong the Blackfoot 130's bag is more like 67" to 68". Super bummed.

    I like it. I have 2 aquaglide kayaks, and now I'm wondering how much they way compared to this one. I think one is the Chelan, forget the other one.

      The Chelan 155 is 38 pounds, compared to the Cirrus 150 at 18 pounds!

    What are the approx. dimensions of the bag when fully packed?

    • @AquaglidePlatinum
      @AquaglidePlatinum  Před rokem

      Good question! The folded dimensions are 21 x 20 x 9 inches measured as an “average fold”. Some users will fold smaller, while others may not fold this tight.

    @aquaglide Hi, i was looking at purchasing the blackfoot 160, but the weight and packability of TPU is much more desirable. Will you be producing an angling version to replace the blackfoot 160 and using frame seats, or can this version be used with frame seats? Thanks

    • @AquaglidePlatinum
      @AquaglidePlatinum  Před rokem +1

      Hey Rob - great question! We have considered a TPU Blackfoot, but it is not in development at the moment. Our 2023 Cirrus 150 is likely the closest thing to what you're looking for, but it is not angling specific and can't be used in conjunction with our frame seat. We will be releasing more details on the Cirrus in the near future before they are available for purchase in Spring. Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Is the floor removable like in the Chelan line or is it permanently attached?

      The floor is fully removable for cleaning, etc.

    Thanks. Would it be correct to say that you have halved the amount of material required (and hence halved the weight) since the TPU material is tougher than the 1000D PVC used in your other kayaks like the Chelan? The drop stitch floor is also made from TPU?

    • @AquaglidePlatinum
      @AquaglidePlatinum  Před rokem +1

      That would be correct! As you say, the TPU material is really tough, so we can use it with much thinner film thickness, and with much less fiber reinforcement at the core. The Drop stitch material is also laminated with TPU instead of PVC, and so the same applies to the floor.

    • @TheKayakCrew
      @TheKayakCrew Před rokem

      @@AquaglidePlatinum sounds good. I gather that TPU is easier to pack up too than PVC. I guess it’s just the extra cost of TPU which is the drawback (currently at least).

    • @AquaglidePlatinum
      @AquaglidePlatinum  Před rokem +2

      @@TheKayakCrew that would be a fair assessment - TPU is an innovative material that takes leaps forward, but new technology comes with the cost trade-off. We're excited about the possibilities of TPU!

      @@AquaglidePlatinum considering the cleaner greener aspect the cost is worth it for many. I'll just have to save a little longer is all.

    Just looked at the price, looks about $1700. I'm going to have to wait a while to get one of these at that price though.

    • @AquaglidePlatinum
      @AquaglidePlatinum  Před rokem +1

      We understand! New technology comes at a premium, and it isn't always immediately accessible - we wish the materials and technology used in the Cirrus were more affordable as well. We do have a few sales this summer that could help ease the pressure.
