We have currently Shreya Ghoshal filling the void left by Lata Mangeshkar so let's be happy with that.
Lata's voice is unmatchable but when people mentioned Alka or Anuradha as Lata's replacement it was humiliation to Lata Mangeshkar because these both were not in the range of songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
Today Shreya is singing the most difficult songs like Lata Mangeshkar & people will agree that she is competent enough to render any song in any language.. She is indeed singing for the best banners in the South. Today no one can replace Shreya Ghoshal like the way she replaced her female seniors. She has evolved hef singing style like Lata & Asha...But again if you hear Lata & later Shreya, Lata's voice still rules... It is one of the most underrated songs in terms of views. Rani Mukherjee is undoubtedly my favourite actress. She can Ace any role given to her.
Not just a movie, rather a masterpiece, as all Indian movies I've seen. It makes me fascinated to look at how rich, sophisticated and at the same time, traditional this is, so diverse. Of course, I'm a realistic person and I look at the painting as a whole, not discarding some controversial points as in my own culture and country, still, appreciating it even more under this perspective.

She is such a beautiful dancer and actress. The way she can convey a whole conversation with just her eyes, just marvelous. It's evident that she might not be as great as Madhuri when it comes to dancing. She never received any sort of training. She is beautiful and gracious even then. God knows what she would have been capable of if she had been formerly trained.
But the way her eyes sparkle with emotions in each close shot, I got no words. She is priceless.

@@NathaliaSthovik The robe she's wearing is called 'Anarkali', that has its roots in Mughal culture of India. It's said that it's named after a famous Mughal courtesan (court dancer and poetess) Anarkali.
Even though pretty historical, it's still a popular choice of dress up in India, it's used as an occasional and regular dress option by Indian girls mainly in north and central India. A recent comeback into fashion trends had made this even more popular and diverse.
You can see Anarkali in the songs from magnum opus 'Mughal E Azam', 'Pakeezah', 'Umrao Jaan' (of both Rekha and Aishwarya Rai), 'Devdas' and many others. They're all worth watching and well recommended suggestions.
It was worn as a dancing costume as well as common lady's robe in those days, as it has continued upto this day. It's one of two main dance costumes of classical dance Kathak and court dance of respected courtesans, the Mujra style (this dance is Mujra up in the video), the second costume being Ghagra.
As a result of British rule, the courtesan system got damaged and courtesans became falsely labelled as prostitutes since the fine divide that separated the two was broken. Thus Mujra became a dance of brothels (as shown in the above video) from a high court dance which it used to be once. It has continued today as the dance of dance bars, brothels and stage performances. But Mujra has started coming out of it's stigmatic identity lately. That's a positive development. Mujra of Lucknow is particularly famous for being iconic and the most authentic.
Anarkali is one of the most exquisite Indian robing styles apart from the evergreen Saree, iconic Ghagra, comfy salwar-kameez, royal Gharara & elaborate Sharara, plus several others. A new revival is Mastani dress that was showed in the song Deewani Mastani by Deepika Padukone in movie Bajirao-Mastani.
Indian clothing culture is as diverse and beautiful as the country itself.
