Is This Artist Going Crazy or Has He Always Been That Way?

- Hello. Peter attempts to make an opening meal to the day that will leave him satisfied and smiling, with mixed results, and then he goes on to do a drawing in his sketchbook. Ink. Pen. This is a Rotring Isograph 0.35 and a Moleskine sketchbook. Peter's Spotify Wrapped 2020 was pretty unsatisfying since for a large portion of the year he had the habit of listening to the same album over and over again every night as he went to bed, so that skewed all of his spotify statistics.

As a wise man just said “Sometimes you want to ease into the day, instead of belly-flopping into it.”
I will forever remember this quote
66
Idk. You never really complain about the coldness of the water if you have belly flopped into it. Ur just like, “ow. My balls hurt.”
@@jacksonlaframboise6257 my oh my that was profound, for me it was anyway
I know a lot of people say this, but watching your videos is like hanging out with a friend. Just sitting around, drawing and chatting about whatever comes to our heads. It's a very relaxing intermission in the day for me.
relatable bro, telling from watching this while eating. Like hanging around a restaurant with friends
I couldn't agree more!
It's what I like to call life ASMR. It reminds me a lot of my relationship with my mother. It really puts me to sleep when he starts drawing too.
Only if Peter had a discord server he could Livestream nd we all could talk ;-;
@@peanutbuttertoast7742 That'd be so cool
Peter 2019: no coffee anymore
Peter 2020:umm never mind
2020 has been a shit year I say we allow it lol
I live alone and due to COVID I don’t see people that much. This intro made my morning a little less lonely, as do all of your videos. Thank you :)
sending you love, i was in the same situation at school and it sucked. things will get better my friend, you're strong and you'll get through this!
me too. 7 years now. And they say to celebrate the holidays with your immediate household. Ummm......??? Doesn't work for a whole LOT of people. If I had celebrated ANY holidays in the past 7 years I would have already been homeless long time ago. The only human contact I had was talking to people in the leasing office. And they've been closed. All the community areas are off limits.
@@recoveringsoul755 I’m sending you love , friend. Stay strong
@@DanniWearsPrada You too. If I don't get cat food today he'll start to eat me. Try to have a nice day no matter what day it is. Art helps, and music if you have it. Heck, send a card to yourself
living alone is great tho
I really really appreciate the blurry out of focus footage of the top of your head
Hah, I’m glad, you’re welcome
Everyone is talking about the intro but no one is talking about how Peter is branching out and using brush pens. I love it
Yeah!
Wait... hotdog chef extraordinaire Peter is afraid of dirtying his kitchen floor? Just when you thought you knew someone...
Well, a greasy floor would be slippery. I microwave a couple of eggs. Sometimes I put cheese shreds and broccoli in there for an omelette. I can wrap it in a tortilla. Easier to clean. He just needs a splatter proof cover for the fry pan. Apparently the best way to cook bacon is in the oven
I cherish people who make me food, for they must also clean.
I have belly-flopped into the day way too often.
School is being forced to belly flop into the day every day every month every year.
I am here for whatever the heck this intro was. Also, a French press cozy is a great idea!
an old sock would work, or sleeve
It was a gift from an unboxing fan mail video. He got a mug cosy too. I always think that whoever sent that must get a little warm fuzzy feeling every time they see it being used.
How inconsiderate of you to post during my online school.
Peter I will be taking this up with your manager!
You should have checked with me if this video matched my schedule first!
I always love seeing how peter’s coffee techniques and practices evolve
they have evolved? just like his hair style hmmm 🤔
@@squintygreeneyes he used to keep his coffee machine on the floor. This is perhaps a backward step but a more civilised step and a cafetière encourages a more moderate coffee consumption.
You've always been slightly crazy but in a enjoyable and artistic way
0
What kind of crazy isn't enjoyable ...? And aren't we all crazy?
I love the journey that peter's videos take you on
I remember when you unboxed that coffee sleeve from the po box 😆
Alright, good morning everyone

@@snakeysstyle783 👋
The fact that the lower diagonal line on your cutting mat doesn't align with the corner of the squares is something I will never unsee. Great job on the 5k Peter.
That line is a 30 degree angle, so it does have a purpose
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t. Almond Joy has nuts, Mounds don’t. Which are you today?
I'm a nut
I got mounds.
tell me will
i always be feelin like an almond joy
I always feel pretty nuts...
Wow. I like this one. I like the background rising sun effect is nice. I’ve wanted to do another video with that background pattern. Thanks for posting!
For me: running has always been meditative for me. It’s cleared my head a lot during these crazy 2020 times.
spent 5 mins watching this man make a cup of coffee and sandwich,
came for the art stayed for his charm
I ran my first and only 5k at home on my birthday several years ago... I figured if there was any day to tackle that goal, that was it. But I HATE running. You aren’t alone. I’ve never regularly achieved a “runners high” or increased my times as I trained. I finally gave up and got a dog to walk instead. Good for you on the 5K! At least you can say you did one, right?
Buy a splatter guard for your cooking. It basically looks like metal mesh. It allows air to escape but stops splattering. It even has a handle. One of the best inventions.
Idk why but I love this kind of video it's just "a day in the life"
Been watching your videos for years super cool to see that years later you are still making videos and they just keep getting better! Keep at it, Peter! Hope to meet you one day
I just appreciate everything in this video so much.
I have seen the artist paint with a hamburger and then eat the hamburger mid-painting - and then continue the process with onion rings. He lost his mind long ago. :)
Just saw this new video... and it is to interesting to watch and listen to, while I'm doing something. (usually I draw while watching your videos)
Going to keep this one for breakfast tomorrow morning. Chill, with coffee and a sandwich... on my couch...
Glad to see you started it with a little vlog part again.
My 6 year old said: I like this guy but that's a weird looking boot 🧐
this is easily my favorite drawing of yours you've ever done, really good job peter!!
I love all of those close ups you do, especially in the intro and such. Its so satisfying. The art is great too :)
Thank you for the top-of-head footage, we appreciate it very much
Beautiful work ❤️
You know how sometimes videos can make you calm and content? This video makes me calm and sad. It’s strange.
Its interesting. Can we call it Dysphoriasmr? (Dysphoria + ASMR)
@@shitbag. absolutely
❤️ I enjoy your art so much but love the little spaces about random things in between! I hope you are staying safe and doing well! ❤️
Great job on the 5k Peter!!! I've been running for 16 years and can say that you're absolutely right when you say that at some point it becomes enjoyable if you keep at it. There may also be some personality preference as well. But when I've been out of shape it's a miserable activity. When I'm fit, it's a pretty good time. Keep at it!
Yeah, it would be really cool to be “in shape”
get yourself a splatter guard for your frying pans.
Merry Christmas peter!
This cracked me up 😂 you are a kindred spirit. I totally understand this
Hey Peter! We love your videos! In regards to cooking in the kitchen, you could always give everything a quick wipe down after you're done making the foods! I actually took your 'eggs in a basket' idea from a previous video you posted and it was DELICIOUS! Anyways, loved the intro. Keep on keeping on! And congrats on the 5k :)
nahhhhhhhh you're fine. every artist has gone at least a little cra cra ya know
Your so close to a million. Let’s gooo❗️
The time has come, the walrus said, to catch up on Peter's videos.
Glad to see you doing well, guy! Your apartment looks so cozy. I really love the brick wall in that one room. Looks like a room I'd probably spend most of my time in.
You are my therapy, please don't stop making videos. Or stop if you need to, I also want you to be happy and you have a lot of videos that I can watch over and over again (as If am not currently doing it...) So yeah, just do what you feel like to do, but know that whatever you do, you are making me happy.
Low key loved the intro! I wish I lived like this, big admiration for Peter
Freeze your bread. Makes it last twice as long and just toast it up!
I have to agree about drawing/sketching. Art is the greatest form of letting everything out on paper. In some sense, I feel like it shows how your mind is working. I've tried drawing because of you when ever I have the time and feel the NEED to draw. It helps me escape for a brief moment. It's like when people read to go to different worlds, or when people Jog/run. It provides a euphoric feeling that makes you want to keep doing it!
"Maybe a little bit more"
*puts literally an immeasurable amount more on*
Watching your videos sort of calms me down; it's like some form of meditation, therapy...... hanging out with a friend, ye get me?
everytime i get super depressed for awhile, i somehow eventually get back to peterscontent. i havent been drawing lately because ive been so unhappy, but you always somehow motivate me to create, even when you arent even talking about drawing. thank you so much peter.
i like your mug too, and the sandwich looks tasty. made me want a sandwich tbh.
It was actually nice having company for breakfast, we should do this for lunch.
Beautiful drawing! I love this!
This is a favorite of recent memory. Both the episode AND the drawing
The first video of yours i watched i thought omg thats Napoleon Dynamite drawing with a glass fountain pen... Alas it was not, but ive been a subscriber ever since and ND is one of my fave films. Have a good day Peter!! :)
Just was checking on the channel and damn your pretty close to one million
very good that the way you're positioned in front of the ceiling light makes it look like you have a halo. nice work
You look really healthy atm peter and new house is lovely. Take care and if you see this merry christmas hehe
Peter your drawings remind my of some of the Portugal. The Man album covers. Love the style, with the almost-liquid dripping shapes
Love it.
the way you create these thin negative space lines and dots astonishes me every time I see you doodling
thats a super sick drawing!! you should make prints of this one, i would buy one
Bro I loved this! You should totally do a vlog!!
The title is so relatable to me honestly wtf
Love this guy.
congrats on completing your first 5k!
Love the drawing Peter. Miss seein you on twitch man!
"Is this artist going crazy?"
Well, hes terrified of cooking real food for himself, so Id say yea, he is XD
He could warm up that sandwich by toasting the bread, or popping the whole thing in the microwave for 30 seconds, melt that cheese. yummy
You looks like a really nice guy. And those pictures running are adorable.
Hey Peter! I love your art and your videos. If you ever decide to give turkey sandwiches another try, here are some things that I do to make them really good:
First, add a bit of seasoning. I usually put a fair amount of black pepper and a sprinkling of garlic powder onto the turkey meat. I also use spinach instead of lettuce, it's a bit healthier and in my opinion tastes better, but it also spoils pretty fast so I don't always have it. I also use ranch dressing instead of mayonnaise, but it's possible that the taste could clash with particularly flavorful mustard. My favorite is Hidden Valley original, because it doesn't have that vinegar taste a lot of ranch brands are marred by. And finally, most important of all, you gotta add some onions. I know some people say they don't like onions, but for me it really brings the whole sandwich together. Happy eating!
for me, running is mostly enjoyable. it didn't use to be, but running with friends makes it a lot more fun. i think the best way to get into it is to make it a habit and have people to accompany you every once in a while
This is the mst relatable thing ive ever watched especially the ice berg lettuce thing
I loved that intro XD also dude you are my hero!
Peter draws adds a nice little crunch to the ham sandwich of my day
The intro was great more of that top ,
Drawing feels intimidating and scary , interesting ,,, and beautiful good work
👏♥️👏
I can relate to this video on so many levels! From the kitchen and stove getting all grimy if u cook..😣to the lettuce not staying crisp 🙁.. the running (not a fan of it either)😬
and DEFINITELY drawing being a way to vent out emotion.
I like to refer to my drawings as..
“Meditation or Trauma Art”
Creative Healing so to speak🙂
MUCH♥️LOVE
Dudes really chill
wow that drawing is impressive!
Also, I used to work in produce, we had this trick called "Crisping the greens" which involved slicing a thin slice off of the butt of the stem of the head of lettuce, then soaking it in some cool water for 10-15 minutes, this helps to get rid of the floppy wilted leaves, but it's not foolproof obviously :)
"oh no, I *do* hate running" puts the feeling i have very well into words
One thing love about your channel, is it does feel like an audio journal with a time lapse drawing. Your quirky and weird in a good way.
Hope Dan had a good thanksgiving. 🥳🥰🤩
One thing that helped me have fun on a run once was running to the intensity of the music I was listening too. Led Zeppelin was being played. It was also during the night. No people around = no problems Thank you for sharing your awesomeness with the world, Merry Christmas :)
The beginning of the video where the kitchen light makes a halo 😁👍
Oh I despise cockroaches too. They make me shudder...ewwww
Looks like Peter's moved again, looking good 😁
Hey Pete! Actually really enjoyed that intro and wish to see similar stuff in the future. (if you feel like it ofc)
You look majestic in that first shot with the ceiling light behind your head lol
We all need to "scream" sometimes ... no matter in what way!! You take care of YOU!!!!! We need you healthy.
You really made me think that someone was doing a drama video on you. 😭😭 I was like, “wait a minute, what they got to say about Peter?????” 💕
Peter you are living my exact morning😂 And although I agree the cleanup is a hassle, it is worth it to have a nice warm meal, toasting your sandwich for example would have probably made it a little better. I do however love turkey way more than ham.
So proud of you doing the race Peter! woo woo! :)
I just want to say that I’ve bought all of your books on Amazon UK within the past 6 months. Love them. I’m going over top top with Roting as the quality is a little grey. Wish you would come to UK. We have a spare room
So you know, Peter, the Cheshire cat covered the madness thing. "We're all mad here." You are in good company. 😁
i really enjoyed the intro for some reason, i think i just enjoyed the pure simplicity compared to the more produced content so many content creators make lol
Good luck finding a bike path, it will be worth it! I like to explore via bike because it's the most efficient way to experience a lot of my surroundings still on a personal enjoyable level. Take a different route every time. Watch for potholes. And if no one is around...you go right ahead thru that intersection, I won't tell.
That picture looks like how I feel, screaming into the pillow, into the wind as my face melts off into stringy worms. Its a good image for 2020. Maybe a T-shirt or big sticker or print
Oh wow I needed this! Haha!!!! What a wonderful way to start my day. I thought I was the only one....!
I particularly like this piece, dunno why, it just speaks to me
I had to immediately make coffee when this started.
I hate running, but take me to a field with a ball and I'll kick and chase it all day - go figure.
The Art Deco Moth exploded all over your drawing - a lot of this one made me think of vintage jewelry pieces.
Hey Peter. I lived in Taiwan the last two years and just got back to America in August. I fell in love with their coffee. They make what's called Drip Coffee.
You put the bag in the coffee cup and it has little paper arms that hold onto the cup. Then you pour water into the bag.
I just got some from my friend and if you want one tell me! They expire in May!
( I also rode a bike there hahaha traffic it nuts and they will hit you.)
And he said " Drawing has been the cathartic equivalent of screaming into my pillow. I'VE BEEN LIKE SCREMING THROUGH MY PEN ONTO THE PAPER".... A year later and I relate to this on lvl 💯😂
I loved that intro 😂 very cozy
Peter... in the dollar store, you can find a screen for your pan! it looks like a large round wire mesh fly swatter. It's intended use is to put over the pan and stop the splatters from going anywhere outside the pan. and it doesn't hold moisture in like a lid does so your cooking won't get soggy. :)
Art is my life line, especially this year.
