  • @graemebowyer4901
    @graemebowyer4901 Před 4 lety +1

    Very interesting footage. I noticed the control box for the Forage Box is just laid in the cab on a piece of cloth and not bolted to the cab as many others do. You seem to take far more care of your cab than most people. I have seen many 3 year old tractors, particularly on dairy farms that are covered in muck inside, the passenger seat chewed by a dog and been used as a store for pig sticks etc, etc.whereas your tractor is in very good nick and presumably that is reflected in the Trade In price you are offered whenever you decide to change ?

    An excellent and very natural video. I’m in northern Ireland and we did our silage last week using an 1986 krone 2900 turbo wagon. Do you have to move the chains back during filling or do they move automatically? I always feel sorry for the man on the buck rake, but must say this man is doing a fine job and at least he is looking forward and not over his shoulder. Would you recommend the front loader for this job? Thank you again for this great video.

  • @rich7584
    @rich7584 Před 4 lety +1

    Good vid. What's the reason for not putting the bigger Massey on the wagon and smaller one on the rake?

    • @CowfarmerDan
      @CowfarmerDan  Před 4 lety +6

      The big one does the mowing and raking, so the little one stays on the wagon. The little one runs the wagon better because it has more hydraulic flow which is needed for unloading.

    👍👌🇨🇦❤, is the front mower ran by hydraulic pump and the rear by pto? Or both hydraulic driven, nice job, great drone shots

  • @masseyman-oc2fe
    @masseyman-oc2fe Před 4 lety +2

    Person I’ve found when opening out a field with front and back mower I have the rear mower near the boundary becuse the rear mower has a brake back so if you hit something hard the mower swings back but the front mower the tractor will just push the bed into said object and then you’ve a mess

  • @AlextheDutchDairyfarmer

    Got to ask. Why don't you drive up the pile with the loaderwagon instead of pushing it all up with the kubota? If you bring the grass where you want it on the pile, the loader tractor has more time to drive back and forth so making it tighter. Brings me to my 2nd question, why no duals on the kubota? You can get closer to the walls. It's not critisism, I'm very curious. Grtz from the netherlands ( maybe you want to take a look of how we're doing it, on my channel you can see it)

    It looks like hard work on the pit with the tractor and loader.why not a tractor and buckrake?

    • @CowfarmerDan
      @CowfarmerDan  Před 4 lety +3

      Because it's easier to look forward all day than have a buckrake on the back of the tractor.

    • @alasdairmeredith2711
      @alasdairmeredith2711 Před 4 lety

      @@CowfarmerDan why not a buck rake on the front links of the big massey and kubota on the rake or is the kubota purely for loader work?

    • @CowfarmerDan
      @CowfarmerDan  Před 4 lety

      Big tractor does both mowing and raking, it's just easier to leave the Kubota to do the clamp.

    • @CowfarmerDan
      @CowfarmerDan  Před 4 lety +2

      I did a little bit of mowing one evening, about 25 litres/hour at 12kph.
      I have no idea what that is in litres/acre as I'm too simple to work it out 🤣
      The 5712 would tell you, but the 7614 doesn't.
      I've been a bit rubbish at watching other videos lately, I might have accidentally bought a new toy I've been playing with.
