This is beyond outrageous. Politicians who think they know more about medical care than doctors and force their "knowledge" - which is based solely on religious beliefs - on their constituents need to be removed from office. Period. This is NOT acceptable. I am sickened that these lunatics have done this to so many women.

A large portion of our government leaders aren't educated enough to know how basic government works, they sure as heck don't know every situation that would require a woman to have an abortion & they shouldn't be making medical decisions for anyone else! If you don't want an abortion, don't have one - it's not your place to tell someone else that they can't have one. Women's healthcare shouldn't be a political issue, it's a decision between the woman & her doctor.

Thank you for this interview. I hesitate to click the 'like it' button because this is such a painful interview, but I fully support what you are doing here. Women of all ages must speak out about the recent and horrendous loss of women's rights and freedom in the US. While the focus of anti-abortion legislators seems to be on the termination of viable pregnancies, all women are aware that at least twenty percent of all pregnancies are non-viable. This is fact. Under the current wave of draconian anti-women's health legislation being passed across the US, too many of these non-viable pregnancies will conclude by threatening the woman's reproductive health and too often, her life. A safe medical abortion is a necessary health care option for all women, and must, once again, be considered a woman's personal health choice. It must not be allowed to, once again, become an ideological issue controlled by electors and judges. About half of all women experience a 'natural abortion' at least once in their life--where the fetus is non-viable and an abortion procedure is needed to ensure the continued health of the woman. I did, and most of my elderly female friends and neighbours did as well. Sixty years ago we fought hard for the freedom to control our bodies, our reproductive cycles and our pregnancies because we are fully aware of the pain, injury and death that anti-abortion, anti-woman laws cause. And we will fight for the reinstatement of that essential and basic freedom for half of humanity now!

What if she still had hours to go before she crossed the state line? She would have been dead by then. Even if she could travel, facilities in surrounding states that still can perform abortions are booked up for weeks.

But they make it sound like she was upset because she wanted an abortion at full term when that wasn't what she wanted. The baby had birth defects and because she couldn't get it aborted was forced to carry the baby to term and it almost killed her because it gave her sepsis. Totally different circumstances and a big difference between supporting full term abortion and needing an abortion because your life is in danger.
