      @monty niranjan On one match point, against Serena she came to the net,and knocked of a volley, started out rallying Clijsters, plenty of people being down that far in the score would have lost. This is Clearly a Great 👍 Serena comeback. We will have to agree to disagree.

    Serena's footwork is unmatched by any other. She moved so well and covered so much court. That's what got her so many Grand Slam titles. When she's able to move so well, she's able to place the ball very accurately on court. Boy I miss her footwork.

    • @mithungangolli
      @mithungangolli Před 2 lety +4

      what got Serena so many grand slams in the times of super hard hitting includes :
      - the most effective unreadable serve
      - a tremendous one two post the serve
      - arguably the most effective return of serve
      - ability to read the opponents service pattern more effectively than most girls, exception being Justine Henin who I thought was better at reading unreadable serves
      - actually better mobility than Venus, who everyone says ran down more balls, but never was able to counterpunch from the back with the power than Serena produces on the backfoot
      - a tremendous overhead which is definitely one of the best on the wta
      - not bad volleying either, although not the best, but very underrated
      the fact is Serena does not have any real weaknesses in her game.
      the reason she could beat Seles and davenport was her mobility and precision of serve and ability to counterpunch their harder shots. Seles due to lack of mobility couldn't stay with these girls and davenport was great only when she had the ball in the range of hitting her shots, moment you got her mobile she was absolutely comical.
      EVEN TODay, with lesser mobility, I am sorry to say that apart from say Osaka who is Clijsters with a bigger serve, I wouldn't see any girl being able to beat Serena regularly.
      the only girl who could beat her on a consistent level for a few years was Justine Henin and before you go along dissing that tiny framed girl, it took massive hard work for her to achieve what she did , so hold the diss.
      was it not for Henin doing those wow years from 2004 to 7 , Serena would have been well over 25 slams today. so while Serena is the greatest of all time , you have to accept the truth that Henin was TRUMP for the short few years she had serenas number

    • @MalphasMikaelson
      @MalphasMikaelson Před 2 lety +1

      You're crazy. This footwork is nothing compared to stuff we see now. As you can see here as well Kim is literally either hitting at Serena or barely away from her with lack of pace. Shotmaking that's happening today in the WTA is way better. Now all the WTA needs is consistency and preferably in multiple players.
      The up and coming players also don't have such abusable serves anymore. Us Open final this year had both young players hitting consistent 80-90mph 2nd serves.

    • @mithungangolli
      @mithungangolli Před 2 lety +2

      @@MalphasMikaelson I agree. at this stage Clijsters had just no power in her strokes
      this did change when you seee her on her comeback ... hitting the ball more like a monster .. and her serve was better and so was her confidence...
      she did get the better of Serena both times they met on her comeback... and Williams at this point was hitting the ball like harder than any woman on a consistent basis.. with a serve that was in the best form ever.
      todays girls I can't say have better groundies but have finally managed to learn serving at an acceptable level , which cannot be abused by Serena Williams.. and that has truly helped the tour..
      anyone who has a weak serve actually anyone with even a good serve but very predictable , is going to be blasted off the court by Serena. this is why Serena has the upper hand on Venus ...
      Venus has a big serve but Serena finds it extremely predictable.. on the other hand Venus is unable to predict serenas serve because of her ball toss wrist strength and placement and precision.

    • @mithungangolli
      @mithungangolli Před 2 lety +3

      @@MalphasMikaelson also Serena seems to be playing smart and not producing too much power for Clijsters to munch on since she is a super counterpuncher.
      here she is making Clijsters make the power to win a shot , which Clijsters was finding rather hard to do.

    Two years after that disgusting Indian Well incident. Just to beat the same opponent. Margaret still has one grand slam more than Williams but Serena is definitely the greatest of all time.

    In the 3rd set ,kim looks so hungry for finishing the match . she took a very few seconds after her 1st serve that's why she made number of double faults.. and Serena looks so calmed..

    Imo: Clijster’s A-game is better than Serena’s BUT Serena kept her A-game up way longer which makes her the GOAT.

      @@miguelteirlinck6942 It’s not an ad hominem argument since that would imply an insult directed at you rather than your opinion.
      Furthermore, where is the evidence that Kim’s best is better than Serena’s best? Serena’s best translates to all surfaces, not just hard courts and she held all four Slams twice, compared to Kim who only won 2 in a row once in her entire career. Moreover, their h2h is 7-2 for Serena and Serena had managed to give epic beat downs to just about every great hall of famer whereas Kim has not.
      Kim’s best is not better than Serena’s best.
