- In this video I explain the common symptoms of a bad oil pump and why a vehicle’s oil pump fail. I also explain what to look for when an oil pump is going bad. For example, odd noise such as whining noise, rattling noise and strange noise can be heard when the bearing is failing.

Can a bad or weak oil pump causes Tdi to knock at cold start? My Tdi knocks when engine is cold and gets better once it warms up..

So I have a 06 trailblazer . The oil pressure gauge kept moving up and down then all of a sudden my engine started knocking and smoke was coming out the oil cap.. so it’s safe to say my engine is damaged correct?
If gaskets are leaking do you need to replace the whole oil pump?
My oil pressure drops when I come to a stop . Would it still be a bad pump?
Can burning oil no visable signs of oil on groubd be a system of the oil pump needing repairs....please let me know .

Possibly bad or worn piston rings.
I have 2003 Cadillac Seville. It makes tapping or ticking sound . Goes away after I'm stopped and accelerate .but comes back abd sknetimed goes away. Heard mught ve lifters or sonething else . Heard Northstar engines are bad . Got from Neighbor tgaf was moving who insisted no issues with car . It happened one week after buying it. Fruebd saud use slick 50 i did thihght was gone two eeeks later it's back. What is it what can i do. Mechanic said could be lots of things vety expensive to find out. Im unemployed no money used last of it to get car. What can i do to it to help fix it that's not expensive

Guys I need help I have a 2010 vw polo 1.2 petrol (CGPB engine) 110k miles I have replaced the engine with a new one (80k miles) the engine runs perfect when it is started but as soon as I rev the car at idle about 2000rpm above the low oil pressure light comes on I have checked the oil pressure and it’s at optimal pressure i have done a oil change with a new filter too. I am due to change the oil pressure sensor as it is common they become faulty there is no engine knocking or anything. What could be the reason ?

It fails because it breakes
But why did it break?
