In Fixed Grip, Whistler Blackcomb's latest ski documentary, the chairs are the stories; the anticipation, the excitement, the comradery, the relationships, and ultimately the access. From peak chair to après, the adventure starts and ends at the base.

Awesome production, scenery and display of young/older talent!! Brings back fond memories of being a member in Liars Lodge back in the 90’s😁. We’ve been in Rossland for 25 years and the mountain culture never gets old! Thanks for this film🍻
To me the saddest most missed loss to WB has been to old guard grooming crew that was lost due to management shifts and certain recent health policy. The mountains havent been the same. You can't replace that experience, mountains are too big with too much to know every nook, cranny, stash, valley, vein.. shaded vs sunny. I havent seen a back run get hit for 7-8 years. Top mountain is untouched, ava doesnt start till like 8.00am.. its def lost a beat from Hugh Smythes vibe.
The community is so loving and caring for everyone. I love Canadians. I love whistler. I am looking forward to this season, I would love to work with/ for whistler Blackcomb one day!!
I queued this up to watch, but Vail delayed playback for 4 hours until they were sure it was safe.

I went on a bluebird top to bottom 40cm powder panic day & got in the creek upload at 0730, then red, then peak, did Peak to creek via West Bowl & was back at Creekside at 11AM. Powder days are busy. I urge everyone to ride magic chair, olympic or P2P repeatedly on powder days. 😂

Still can’t build a rope-tow halfpipe night park for the community. Denying the community from the opportunity. We want a rope-tow halfpipe, and there’s nothing you can do to stop us from building one.
As a culture we deserve whatever we want, not what this greedy foreign corporation decides for us

Alright so you’re not a real snowboarder that snowboards for the culture… back in the 80s &90s snowboarders around here did what they want… we built half pipes all over the mountain, on the glacier in the summer time there would be 3 half pipes. But now Vail denies us from this simple pleasure. No thanks to people like you who aren’t interested in having more fun or progressing the sport. Thanks for your help in the matter!
The park scene has been under invested for the last 5 years. Most of catskinners parks havent even ran for the last 5 years and these parks had sponsors.
Snow making was pitiful we had to complain to vail last year. We had record cold. Some of the coldest days in WB history with 0 snowmaking bottom run and entire ski in and out hotels with 0 run access... guests walking? It was a travesty of mismanagement.

Great short, loved all the content and shots...not so sure on the demi-Warren Miller-esque voiceover ripoff though. Not the voice or accent itself, of course, but the writing and layout.

Yawn Yawn Yawn. Let's mythologise WB again. It's gone seriously downhill (no pun intended) sine Covid. Grooming seriously sucks these days and you'll have to wait an eternity for Symphony and Peak chairs to open.
If the territory you filmed this on is unceded, why did you release the film? Either you have no problem with it being unceded and can post the movie in good conscience, OR you think its totally wrong and evil and shouldn't post this. Pick one lol. Just saying you acknowledge it is hilarious. Like great job you're such amazing people for acknowledging it and then talking about skiing for half an hour hahaha
