  • The Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk is a very easy to use sunblock, and it fits into my morning routine very easily. It also layers well and has a super light liquid texture. It has a light tint to it which helps to cancel out any redness to your skin tone. I love that this is an SPF 50 and provides great protection. What I didn't like is the high amount of fragrance and denatured alcohol. Although, if you like this sunscreen you are still better off using a great sunscreen every single day, than trying to find one without fragrance or alcohol.

    I use and love the Missha Essence (light green cap) and I have dry skin. What I love about the Essence formula was it leave my skin dewy and moisturize, so I was super surprised to learn today how it contain denatured alcohol. I also have skinceutical sheer physical uv defense and use it only on the weekends because the white cast is strong on this one and it messes up any makeup application. I have to wait more than 10 minutes before the white cast diminishes. I will try the Volution Prismatic Luminizing after I finish the Skinceutical

    While I completely agree about the harm of alcohol denat with long-term use, there is a dermatologist here on CZcams stating that AD is actually a good stabiliser for chemical sunscreen, which is why it’s so prominent in a lot of chemical/combo SPFs

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  Před 5 lety +4

      It is certainly better than some other stabilizers and preservatives that are used in sunscreens, that is for sure. It is still better to use a sunscreen even if it has alcohol in it than to not use any sunscreen at all. If it works well for someone I'd much rather than use the sunscreen than go without. that is for sure!

    Please correct your video! Your title says Soft Finish but you are showing the Velvet Finish. I love your videos and am surprised this still is not corrected, and I’m glad I noticed before I made some purchases. It’s not a good look for someone that puts in as much research and care as you do.

    Looks like it might work great for people who are pale, but that color correcting would make me look like I was in a casket.

    I have been using this sunscreen for 2
    years, the things that scare me in it are alcohol and isopropyl palmitate, may be thats why i always get comedones. 😐

    My first foray into Korean sunscreen is the blue version of this. I loved it! I think I might try out this version as well. I have combo oily skin and it worked so well with my skin type. I would prefer no fragrance, but I did like the scent.

    Thank you for reviewing this! So interesting how it has chemical and mineral UV blockers. I avoid chemical sunscreen because it irritates my skin, but I always appreciate you taking the time to review sunscreen! 💜💜💜

      So glad you found the review helpful! It's kind of odd, for quite some time I had the same problem with chemical SPF filters, but nowadays I'm finding that mineral filers make my skin super itchy but chemical filters aren't bothering me. Very strange, you just never know!

    Can you make a video or recommend your fav mineral sunscreens that doesn't leave a white cast & works with/without makeup? BTW have you tried the replenix mineral cream sunscreen or their sheer physical sunscreen? Chemical sunscreens always sting my eyes!

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  Před 5 lety +3

      This is a great idea- there are more and more mineral sunscreens that don't have the dreaded white cast. A few I love is the newer Coola Sun Silk Cream SPF 30, the Paula's Choice Defense Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30, Peter Thomas Roth Naked Max Mineral SPF, and the Clinique Super City Block SPF 40 are all great sunscreens that don't have a noticeable white cast. I haven't tried the Replenix sunscreens- but I have heard very good things about both of them, going to have to check those two out!

    I have a sort of particular question. Does vitamin C boost the effectiveness of ALL sunscreens or only some, like chemical or mineral? I would love to know this!

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  Před 5 lety +1

      Vitamin C definitely helps with all kinds of sunscreens. It really gives skin a boost of antioxidants which helps skin and your SPF fight off free radical damage. Certain types of Vitamin C serums help more- ones that have a higher percentage of vitamin c, ones that are fragrance and alcohol free also help your skin fight off pollution, the sun, and will help with skin brightness as well as helping to prevent acne a bit better. Some vitamin c serums have too much fragrance or alcohol, which can do the opposite of what you want to accomplish by using vitamin c. Hope this helps a bit!

    • @susannadler9791
      @susannadler9791 Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the information! It does help! I’ve been using the newer L’Oreal vitamin C serum which has been wonderful in terms of texture and not having harmful ingredients (not to mention the price).

    missha soft finish has alcohol at 12 number i think it worth trying it 🙄

  • @jenlauren143
    @jenlauren143 Před 5 lety +1

    Ugh why is everything that’s coming out lately that seems good have denatured alcohol in it , fragrance or some other ingredient that is bad. That stinks! What’s your thought on the ingredient called “retinol palmitate”? Everything I’ve read about this says that it can cause cancer and that it’s not the best form of retinol because of the fact it can be dangerous. 😔

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  Před 5 lety +1

      Retinol palmitate has been touted by many skincare companies as being the next best retinol, but I'm not totally sold on it. I really just prefer plain old retinol when I have a choice. It has been used much longer and there is so much more research baking up it's reputation. I've tried so many retinols, tretinoin is such a strong retinol, people love it for treating acne, but my skin almost burns just thinking about it!

    • @jenlauren143
      @jenlauren143 Před 5 lety

      No BS Beauty oh yes I’ve heard of it and I’ve thought about trying it but any product with retinyl palmitate I avoid like the plague 😊
