I must have watched this at least five times before realizing it was looping.
I’ve literally fallen asleep with a yt short playing for like an hour before on many occasions. Also it’s not even a loop it just ends and then starts playing from the beginning with no transition so how do you even not realize it’s looping?
I Can tell that this is one of those that looks super easy and burns like a mf’er stealing this for my female clients lol
Sweet! Mike and Menno approved! This is going in my next meso.
I thought you and Mike were mortal enemies 😂😂😂😂
more like Science Bros frenemies.
Eeee no??? He actually even went as a guest ti Dr. Mike's channel
This video was filmed at Dr. Mike's home gym
Amazing video
I approve the cameraman 👍
You approve the tripod?
@@FormerlyKnownAsAndrew It's Menno's girlfriend.
@@monsieurene3366how do ye know?
@@Dave.Mustaine.Is.Genius It was announced on one of Dr. Mike's videos
@@XAUCADTrader l see. Thx
Pretty sure if I did something like this in a squat rack I'd get some very dirty looks for basically curling in the squat rack.
Huh.. after the 3rd time this played, what sounded like a man's voice became audible. Talk about strings or so random shit. Weird.
Whats the upside of this over just back extensions, or even good mornings (for the weighted version)?
More tension in the most stretched position. Probably less low back activation and fatigue than good mornings. Although all of them are murderous if done correctly
I think the biggest upside is you don't need gym equipment. Can be performed as part of a calisthenics workout in the park as long as you have a horizontal bar below hip height.
This is good morning
Men of culture, we meet again
Meno has a tough life eh. Gentlemen we me meet again
Good warm up.
Lmao, but It’s not for warming up
@@jaijaiwanted i understand. But how would this be loaded for mechanical tension.
@@chronometa Just like in the video: grab some weights.
@@user-ii7xc1ry3x I'll have to try it and play around with it. But seems better if something was under the heel perhaps
@@chronometaJust do sldl or GM lol
I have more muscles 😮
What is the point of the gym mats?
Comfort
Without them the bar is going to push really hard into your quads and it's going to hurt quite a bit.
Im never doing this
What do you call this exercise?
Waiter's bows.
The bar at knee height? I see it's above knee height. Or do you mean at hip crease height??
Somewhere above knee height was the instruction.
Oh I noticed, Menno. I noticed.
They say this is Menno's girlfriend
Menno - really?! This is just as hilarious as doing bicep curls in the squat rack.
This looks like a normal hamstring stretch. He didnt mention why you need the bar, it doesnt seem to do anything
It seems like it’s for additional feedback for individuals who struggle with a hinge
it keeps you standing (especially as you add weight), as anyone with a brain understanding basic physics can see.
if you don't have the bar you'd have to flex your knees to pull your center of gravity backwards, defeating the point. and it would reduce the overloading potential.
your feet are in front of the bar
Tbh not a very good demo or explanation. There is a tendency to turn Straight leg deadlift into a standard deadlift. You want to keep legs straight by pushing against the pad
Yes, girls need to do this at the gym please.
I didnt hear a word you said after changing the camera angle 😅
three's a thing called back extension machine
Not everyone goes to the gym.
@@tinybarabo so u have a smith machine but not a back extention, intersting
You don’t need the bar on your thighs. Learn to balance in the leaned forward position. You’ll progress better.
That’s called a SLDL, this is just a different variation of a lengthened hamstring exercise. You can’t do SLDL forever, eventually it will get stale and you will want your second best ham exercise to replace it for a while.
And how did you reach that conclusion?
Idk this exercise seems great for not only stretching but also learning hip hinging and other techniques people might have trouble with
@@jazzyje5ter223 exactly. It is a great introductory movement to get used to using your hamstrings to stop you from falling on your face. But a SLDL with a heavy bar with the same forward shift is much more brutal and safer because you won’t be pressing your thighs. Plus, with the bar on the thighs you can’t go heavy without flipping over it.
@@user-ii7xc1ry3x read my other response. I’ve also done it for 6 years and coached dozens of others on it. The exercise in the video is a the training wheel version.
Pencil neck
