Mahashivratri is one of the biggest and most significant among the sacred festivals of India. The festival celebrates the Grace of Shiva, who is considered the Adi Guru or the First Guru from whom the Yogic tradition originates.
The planetary positions on this night are such that there is a powerful natural upsurge of energy in the human system. It is enormously beneficial for one’s physical and spiritual wellbeing to stay awake and aware in a vertical posture throughout the night.

In India, on Mahashivratri or any other auspicious day, there is a specific alignment of stars and Nakshatra. When you live in another country, where there is a difference of time in that case, is there a similar alignment of stars and Nakshatra repeated as in India?
Nakshatra is the same throughout the world if they use Vedic system. The stars would fall in a different alignment in western system.

Hey dear, if you really wish to meditate on this particular night which is happening on 8 of march as mahashivraatri. Then simply you can join sadhguru live and do meditation and enjoy program from 8 march 10 pm to 9 march 6 am but if you dont wish to join and awake till 10 pm to 6 am full program then do just "aum meditation" for 20 30 min between 8 march 11.30 pm to 4.30 am of 9th march...but
My advice is that, go join the program and rest a bit in between if u want bcz there is gonna be some performance but stay awake in night and when they meditate you should be meditating with them...I'm mean common it only happens once in a year😊

@@delvinci8016 u can doze in a sitting position befor noon.. Post noon u can lie down... !actually on the day of shivaratri people keep a fast so that the body is free to receive the energies. However people can eat fruits or juices since they are raw and easy to digest... Next morning a feast is prepared and offers to the Lord before eating... Post noon people can lie down...

Start chanting Shiva mantra or Shiva nama from sunset in the evening, continue this till sunrise in the next day and if possible go to the nearest Shiva temple before and after doing this.

I always find it sad when Sadhguru puts people above other animals. In this video because we have an upright spine. Sorry, but I have never heard such a theory from any other master. On the contrary. As far as I know, many Indian teachings in particular also attribute a certain possibility to enlightenment to animals, for example Buddhism (and I suspect also Jainism). And if you really look closely and look at your environment, you'll see the extent to which animals can feel (you don't even have to be enlightened to see that).
I didn't hear it as him putting us above other animals, it's just he is talking to us, at this point in our evolution, I figure if we are incarnated as human beings in this life we will have already lived as other species in the past. I feel like I have been many other consciousnesses b4 and we can tap into them in many ways, like people call them spirit animals maybe they are past lives we lived and can identify with. IDK maybe we are all just one consciousness experiencing itself from infinite perspectives and timelines, for the pure joy of expanding and growing in knowledge.
If you think you are the same as animals then maybe you should walk on your hands and feet.
There is nothing wrong with being different. It’s only evolution.
