I love this series. I love Victoria way more than I thought I would. On the promo pictures I didn't like her lips and make-up but irl it actually looks pretty good. She is actually one of my favs now.
As for accessoires, I think, instead of hangers, blow dryers and sewing machines they should come with an unique and functional purse or backpack which suits their aesthetic and where they can put their stuff in, such as their phones, laptops, waterbottles etc. I'd also love to see tablets or notebooks/diaries as accessoires.
I always wanted more accessories in RH. It felt weird that only fashion and music focus characters got any and I feel like giving a film/photography focus doll a camera accessory wouldn't have been too hard but I'm really disappointed in these. We don't need a million eyeshadow pallets and brushes, a ton of hair dryers and sewing machines. I really hope RH makes better accessories going forward cause these aren't it. My hope is also that we'll get second outfits for these dolls and SH s2 dolls in the fashion pack blind bags.
Im worried for the future of rainbow high cus half the dolls in this series look budget and then the accesories are all the exact same few molds, in place of the unique and different second outfits. and all of that stuff just for them to be $3 less
@@uniquan7221 i begg to differ . doing accesories is probably more expensive than the outfits. while yes they couldve been more specific to the character or their major but i wouldnt write them off just now because these are kind of one of the first waves that come with accesories at all and i have hope that they'll only get better with time. considerering how wave 1 of rainbow high was a little basic with later waves and shadow high being more unique and doing way more in terms of design and representation. doing second outits and accesories would probably drive the price up by a lot so that wouldnt be a good solution in my opinion. overall i feel like them now having to focus on 1 outfit makes them look way more cohesive and thought out . i love how they started adding more fabric detailing to their shoes be it fabric boots or shoelaces . overall i feel like this has a lot o potential and the abscence of a second outfit could easily be fixed by selling charakter specific fashionpacks. as a community doll collectors tend to be very quick to write things of and overall i just think these arent bad dolls . compared to whats on the market rn and their quality overall these are actually very good. while this may not be everyones cup of tea , ifeel like these have a lot of potential and while u might not likes these rainbow high as a brand has been evolving continuously so its only going to get better from here.
@@jeremymueller0404 If accessories cost more to do than clothes to make, I would be highly surpried. The clothes are made by hand, while the accessories are made with machines, wich makes them automatically cheaper to make. Oh, and as an ex art student, I'm starting to get ticked of that their supposed art scool have no one using paint as a medium. Where are the sculptors, painters and so many more? Their school is not a art scool, it's a fashion school. Sure, they got pretty close to the girl/boy ratio you usually get, but other than that Rainbow High does not feel like a art school.

isn’t more expensive, they’re just little pieces of plastic with reused molds, so already those are cheap to produce, meanwhile clothes have to be thought out, designed, sewn, all that stuff. we can see with aidan and kim their outfits are pretty basic and cheap looking, so when you see the clothes on those two with the cheaply made accessories i just don’t see that being worth the same price point we were getting older releases at. i was really only talking about those two though, i like the rest of the series and think they’re worth the money
Olivia is my fave too, but I will also grab Victoria for that ginger representation 😹Really wish they gave Olivia a phone. Phones are the best accessory, but I'm so tired of the makeup and hairdryers.
Honestly,I could do without the accessorie entierly. They cost a lot, so if they cut off the extra clothing to make then more accessible, they should'nt have added accessorie.
Yeah phones are the only one I like being repeated frequently, only because every student is likely to have one and it's easy to make them unique to reflect the student. Laptops too to a lesser extent. The hairdryers are so annoying - unless the student has a focus in hairdressing or something, it adds nothing and takes up a slot where they could have given the student something interesting. I'm a little less bothered by the sewing machines since we know these are fashion focuses and, unlike the rainbow divas with their blowdryers who are still on shelves, Jett is much harder to find if you wanted a sewing machine for your dolls. I loved the mic and mic stand that came with Glitch, none of the other 11 characters have something unique like that.

Happy to see Victorias is more detailed than I expected it’s not my favorite fashion but out of just the dolls not thinking of their fashion she’s my fav. But for fashion Olivia wins for me. I do really like Kim but seems like there’s a lot of bad bangs going on unfortunately. The other 3 are passes for me.

Between those 2 my favorite is Victoria. In the entire series Victoria and Priscilla are my favorites. I wanted to order Priscilla online but when you said they have some defects, I'll wait for them to be in Target and look at them myself
You don't have to wait long they actually started to put them out even if they aren't set let.
I still think that the new shadow high and new rainbow high dolls are not a new series. I think that they're just themed like rainbow vision. The symbols over the name doesn't have written "series" plus they're all fashion focus? I mean, you all can't deny it's strange and unusual
Tbh i agree with this. The listings on amazon for both of the core dolls don't say "series" in it so its gotta be something mga created that will only last a short period of time.
I think this discussion was had back when SH series 2 leaked months and months ago. Everything point to this being the new series they’ve just moved away from that labeling just like they moved away from second outfits etc.

I just ordered Victoria! She’s so beautiful. I love her full body freckles. Had to order from Amazon US (I’m Canadian) so I hope she makes it here ok lol A little sad that the second outfit is gone (I think a lot of us are) but the accessories are cute, not what I would have picked but cute and the doll is stunning enough to me that it’s fine. Still trying to get my hands on Vanessa, Brianna and Eliza though lol
Seeing these defects like Olivia's wonky eye and lash is making me really nervous about ordering them. So far I've had no issues with my dolls coming with errors, but I really don't feel like having to go through taking a doll to UPS to be shipped off for replacement. The quality control at MGA needs to improve drastically. For dolls that are bordering near the 30-dollar range, these defects should not be allowed to even make it into a box to be shipped or placed on store shelves.
Olivia's hair is looking so tangled! But that won't stop me from buying triples. Triples makes it safe. Triples is best.
I really like these dolls! Olivia looks so good! I really wish they would come with bags though! For as fierce as they look, you would think that RH would start packing bags w/ these dolls but I guess that’s why they have the bags as blind bags (however I’m not paying $9.99 for a little bag, when it easily can just come with the dolls…)
I think since this is supposed to be like a “fashion” line they should’ve definitely came with a fashion bag of some type. Especially since we have these little accessories like the make up brushes/pallets and phone. Its so easy to misplace these or even lose these little pieces. I think it would have been a cute & easy accessory to have.

I love Olivia the best. Her outfit is harder to make and more detailed compared to Victoria. It gives off early Y2K hip hop/ R&B. Plus the green theme. She is my favorite

Honestly I see ppl complaining abt no second outfits but I feel like/ have a theory these dolls are a one time thing to allow them as mainline dolls to be a bit more affordable than the regular dolls. Praying for second outfit return tho 😭😭
Wasn’t there talk that MGA scrapped the second outfits so they could sell outfit packs instead. Gotta make that $$$ in other places.

@Karls_idols There have been leaks regarding this, the price range is 10 to 12 dollars USD and it isn't clear if it's a full outfit but about 20 would be released. Plus it's mystery themed, not clearly stated who's outfit is which. Not a fact just a leak. 😃

Love these two, I actually picked them up myself, but I'm not going to lie, super disappointed that they don't have second outfits anymore, and the fact that they still come with hangers is really weird. There have been multiple RH dolls that I've only bought because the second outfit was great, and was sad when I really liked a doll color but the outfits were both bad. (Poppy from series 1 comes to mind) I like keeping them within their color schemes, so don't mix and match a lot. Basically, I'm just a bit worried that there's a higher chance I don't like the 1 outfit, and have to skip entire series of these dolls... to be fair my wallet will probably be pretty happy though.
I think the reason they’re $26.99 Vs the $24.99 for the shadow high dolls is that the RH series come with more accessories/and or bigger accessories. Like none of the SH dolls came with palettes that big or sewing machines. Also I’m pretty sure MGA has a lower price point for SH because they aren’t doing as well as they hoped. Let’s not forget the SH clearance situation. I think they’re trying to keep them going because they aren’t selling that bad but they wanna boost the sales so I understand that SLIGHT price difference and why 🤷🏽♂️

I am totally team Olivia, she was the first one I saw and fell in love with her immediately. Victoria has a cute hairstyle, dress and earrings but her lip makeup is 🤨 And overall doesn't make such a huge impression after the first "wow" pass away.. too overhyped imo :c

Victoria's base doll is absolutely adorable but tbh so far it seems like these dolls are having a lot more variations in quality than series 2 of shadow high. But that's just me. I am not connecting much with series 5 in general and despite vic being my fav i kinda am disappointed with the material used on her outfit. Not sure if im gonna be getting many of the newer dolls this year 😭😭😭
I feel the same way, it's difficult to connect with these dolls and I won't be getting any of them. A few also seem basic or lacking something. 😕

Victoria was the only one that I liked from the beginning, but Michelle is growing on me. Kim and Olivia have nice base dolls, but I don't really like their outfits, so I'll only get them if they go on clearance. I don't mind more accessories bc they're fun for posing and displaying the dolls, but I don't like that everyone seems to have the same stuff and no one has any sort of bag to hold all of their stuff. I feel like they should have fashion packs (that aren't blind box) that come with hangers instead of including them with dolls that don't even have extra clothes to use them with.

I love what I've seen from series 5 so far ! However, my biggest criticisms are:
1. Prices are jumping everywhere, please make it make sense MGA !
2. Please stop repeating the extra accessories and have each doll come with accessories more personal to their character.
3. Lastly, they need MORE JEWELRY- especially Kim and Victoria ! I feel like it should be a given at this point to have every doll coming with earrings and at minimum one other piece of jewelry.

I agree I think they shouldn’t keep using the same accessories for every character 😓 I would love to see roller skates, maybe headphones, diaries, a cute backpack or duffel bag. Accessories that match their study that they are doing would make more sense in my opinion. Hopefully in the future they give us something different. 💖
