I was diagnosed with GERD last May and have had 2 EGDs - one with sonar - they didn't find anything but a little inflammation and they still think I have Gerd - they just don't think it's from a hietal hernia. I still have GERD so bad I can't even lay down and for 6 months I drank only water and I cut out fatty foods, spicy foods, and everything acidic. I've since abandoned that strict diet because it did not improve my symptoms. I got my heart checked as well. I feel for this guy because Dr opinions on this issue are so varied and many of them seem to have absolutely no idea what's going on.

He loves believing in weird things and get-rich-quick schemes and each new thing that will be the end of the world. A general gullibility. I don't know if that's necessarily all it's about, but either way, sounds accurate. I knew my dad always had that but didn't know it was part of the rest of his narcissism. I'm sure it'll be an eye-opening book to read.

I love YMH and most of the shows on the network. However, I want to leave this comment to remind everyone that Drew Pinsky is not a psychiatrist and has had his share of controversy. He is an internal medicine physician who focused his career on addiction treatment. There are numerous things in this episode that he says pertaining to abuse or psychology/mental health that are 1) extremely outdated and 2) harmful stereotypes and 3) easily recognized by other mental health professionals as both of those things. If you're experiencing mental health issues, make sure to get in touch with a clinician and avoid taking comments you hear from media doctors as gospel.
He is also a medically trained professional who is aware of his biases and his lack of credibility in certain areas which he states constantly. This podcast (stated many times over the course of its existence) is not a substitute for medical advice, it is first and foremost an entertainment podcast with often helpful advice from a medical physician. Not everything he says will be derived from formal research and studies that he himself has taken part in or reproduced, rather this is an outlet where he can share his collective knowledge from years of experiences and discussions with other trained professionals. Drew is in no way a perfect physician but he has done a lot more for the field of medicine and the online/entertainment communities than most people ever will, and provides insight into a lot of things that other doctors may not want to tackle publicly. Also how many times do they need to have a comedian on telling shit stories or a note saying that this podcast is not a replacement for speaking to your doctor before you feel the need to stop posting about it? This can lead to people who have experienced trauma or abuse to think his personal opinions might be shared by a lot of clinicians, or a generally established symptom according to the latest literature. They may also, especially if younger, not be familiar with all of Pinsky's work (which by the way includes only 2 academic papers, one he did in med school). I like Dr. Drew some of the time, but he was way off base more than usual in this episode. Keep featherin' it brother!

H3H3 is behind aswell. I remember watching philly offensive videos on facebook like 2 years ago. They just react to what the fans send in. Since both channels share alot of the same fans. They receive the same submissions from the same people.

I love YMH and most of the shows on the network. However, I want to leave this comment to remind everyone that Drew Pinsky is not a psychiatrist and has had his share of controversy. He is an internal medicine physician who focused his career on addiction treatment. There are numerous things in this episode that he says pertaining to abuse or psychology/mental health that are 1) extremely outdated and 2) harmful stereotypes and 3) easily recognized by other mental health professionals as both of those things. If you're experiencing mental health issues, make sure to get in touch with a clinician and avoid taking comments you hear from media doctors as gospel.

He is also a medically trained professional who is aware of his biases and his lack of credibility in certain areas which he states constantly. This podcast (stated many times over the course of its existence) is not a substitute for medical advice, it is first and foremost an entertainment podcast with often helpful advice from a medical physician. Not everything he says will be derived from formal research and studies that he himself has taken part in or reproduced, rather this is an outlet where he can share his collective knowledge from years of experiences and discussions with other trained professionals. Drew is in no way a perfect physician but he has done a lot more for the field of medicine and the online/entertainment communities than most people ever will, and provides insight into a lot of things that other doctors may not want to tackle publicly. Also how many times do they need to have a comedian on telling shit stories or a note saying that this podcast is not a replacement for speaking to your doctor before you feel the need to stop posting about it? @@jrmiles5437 I understand that he puts certain asterisks when he engages in medical entertainment, and that IS good, but Dr. Drew does not do a great job of explaining, while in the moment, that he holds views that are not shared by most or all clinicians, or current diagnostic manuals. This can lead to people who have experienced trauma or abuse to think his personal opinions might be shared by a lot of clinicians, or a generally established symptom according to the latest literature. They may also, especially if younger, not be familiar with all of Pinsky's work (which by the way includes only 2 academic papers, one he did in med school). I like Dr. Drew some of the time, but he was way off base more than usual in this episode. Keep featherin' it brother!
