The deal with Barbara actually went through (often they don't) and now Luna magic is physically in Wal Mart! Good for them!
Barbara actually has a 60% closure rate! That's pretty good especially compared to the other sharks. But if you meant that the deals often don't go through in general then yeah that's true. More often than not though it's the entrepreneurs that end up backing out of the deals because they don't think the conditions are favorable to their company even though they took the deal on TV. I'm glad Luna Magic wasn't one of them tho
@@veledwin1I think the entrepreneurs often back out is because when they’re pitching, they’re being pressured to make a decision quickly on the spot just like how Kevin pressed these two women in this video. They may not be about to think clearly when they’re being pressured with little time like that, but yeah I agree with you😅
@@charenny7797actually I think it’s more often the sharks who back out. They get a look at the financials and go nahhhh I’m not investing in this. The entrepreneurs always give a positive depiction of their business and sometimes even mislead or omit something with the numbers.
Honestly I’m relieved that they accepted her offer cause they were really going to collapse on their own.

@@roqmanknowsbest2179 i do not think a bank would fund that, even with the wallmart deal on the table. There is so much logistics needed to make the deal happen, it s just too big of a risk for a ban to take. That is why vc is needed. I think they will benefit organizationally from having barbara as a partner, too many companies go out of buisiness because they boom and they bust and burst in flames. I looked it up ands it seems they are doing well and growing steadily, glad to hear that

Those brushes are the best brushes I’ve ever tried. They are so soft, pick up pigment well, and they basically blend the eye shadow for me. These brushes are better than sigma, it cosmetics, morphe, eco tools. I def wanna check more of there stuff not just from my boxy charm
People like to meme on Barbara but she would probably be the best shark to work with. She only invests in companies that she has a strong connection with and she always takes at least 20 or 25%. This means that your company will get a lot of extra attention from her or her team. So many times ill see a shark invest in something so dumb or risky and I know that they really dont care if they fail or not. Just rolling the dice. Barbara at least goes with people she likes or believes in and she makes deals that she is confident in.
True she doesnt have much in her portfolio but she only chose something she likes so that is great

I’m a logistics coordinator for a Berry company and let me tell ya what. Kevin is 1000% correct. Walmart logistics is so heavily demanding. They expect perfection and will charge you any fee possible for not hitting it in addition to their demand for the amount of deliveries you have to make.
I like the sisters’ attitude and their sense of humor. Barbara will make a good business partner with them.

If people tell the sharks how much they need the money, sharks will use that to take more equity of the company, because they know there is a hiiigh high chance they'll take the deal. That's how businesses works, just do what is best for you.
There was no way to hide it. They really did need the money. Bad. And they got it.
The sharks perform due diligence before actually investing what they comitted to. Unlike poker, here the bluffs will be exposed pre-money, or the entrepreneurs will continue bluffing, which would make it a fraud.
I remembered where there's a millionaire who got a deal and rejected because he said that he just needed the exposure or something lol

The formulas look decent but needs a bit of work. The packaging looks rough. They need an investor to get to the next level. They need influencers like Manny Mua or Lushcious Massacre who have that Latin community influence. Unless the brand is Estée Lauder most people won’t give a brand the time of day unless it’s promoted by an influencer.

@@bellabean463 For the longest plenty of makeups brands were made specifically just for white woman or only had their skin tone in mind. NOW several companies offer more shades which wasn't always so and some still do not hence the reason people had to create more brands to cater to those of color. As for these ladies it's not as if they created foundations, concealers etc. so I understand your point.
I identified with the metaphor of the boat fishing for a whale. (I'm still at that stage). Fortunately, there is always someone with more experience with a bigger boat willing to help. Happy for them.

I too am impressed that a small company like that could get a huge rollout at Wal Mart. That's a big opportunity, and if I was a shark I'd take a shot just for the upside. When I worked at CVS, we sold this cheap makeup from a company called "Wet N Wild" that sold pretty well among lower income and teens. If you're got a good value and price point I could see this taking over. But I'm not a woman, so I have no idea.
Lol Wet N Wild is pretty big drugstore company.. I love their lipsticks it's honestly better than some higher pricey brands

I am a little confused. Isn't a line of credit essentially a loan with an interest rate? If so, they basically gave up 30% of their company for a loan that they will eventually have to pay back with interest? I am not sure I understand how this deal makes sense. Basically, either they would accept this, or, they would Go broke and lose the oportunity of their lives, if you see at their website right now, they are at ALL wallmarts It seems, so, better having 70% of a huge thing, instead of having 100% of nothing because they wouldnt bê able to close the deal with wallmart
Yeah, they basically didn’t have a choice. They DESPERATELY needed that Walmart deal and they made that pretty obvious to the Sharks. There options were essentially take Barb’s deal or go bankrupt.
Some have said on this kind of show, it’s better to own a smaller piece of something huge than all of something remaining micro.
