  • This video shows the basic method of using our unique tools for basketweave buttons. I'll show how to work with thicker thread (a tapestry wool) and thinner thread (No 8 perle cotton). Both these sizes of thread are supplied in the kit.
The kit contains five specially designed reusable acrylic tools, designed to create woven pieces to cover button moulds.
Weaving directly onto a button mould - as was done in the past - can be very difficult, especially at small sizes. Using these tools, you can create woven covers that can be used to cover the moulds
The kit is available on our website:

Thank you GIna. My button kit arrived last week, along with the Christmas one. I haven't had the chance to make anything as yet, other 'stuff' gets in the way. Love the videos of all your button, etc kits. I will be one of the first in the queue for the future book.

Clever, clever engineering! Kudos to Team Silkworks! It will take some of us a while to 'get' the process but look for some wonderful buttons in the near future. I think I'll send a link to my pinloom weaving friend - we may turn her into a button maker yet! Charlotte in California
