I think Billie is finally starting to come out of it, she is in more control of her body, she can even fly now, but since it happened once already she is prone to have another seizure.

As a fellow budgie owner, my heart goes out to you in the fullest and I'm truly hopeful for your birds improvement. I think its so beautiful how impactful the social bonds of some animals can be on their overall health and well being. Watching the way the green budgie immediately noticed that he needed to come and help her eat moved me to tears. And then to see how such a strong social relationship can help her along her recovery is really something beautiful. My heart goes out to you and all your feathered and furry friends, I will be keeping an eye out for more updates and I wish your beautiful little angel a steady recovery â€ïž

I'm happy to see her looking better. Looks like some love from her fellow budgie was what she needed to really help turn things around.
When I saw Neo and Billie together I said AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! I have been waiting for an update for days now--I kept checking and checking YT to make sure I didn't miss it. I just checked now, and I got to see this a mere 15 minutes after publishing! YAY! I was so happy to see Billie Girl is getting better! TY for being so kind to her! I have 3 budgies of my own and I can't imagine one of them getting ill.
Neo is! He's a comfort and stress reliever to Billie. So sweet and loving.

Wow this is such a good update! I'm so happy Billie is recovering!!!! I was reading the comments of all these other bird owners saying their bird died after similar circumstances so I'm hoping Billie recovers and you have many more happy memories together! Letting your two budgies be with eachother to have billie taken care of at hte end seemed like a wise choice!

Thank you for the update! You've done an extraordinary job with Billie. Neo will help you take care of her. My little boy lovebird suffered from seizures. My Avian ran every possible test, but we couldn't find the cause. I learned some of the things that triggered his seizure...flashing light from a camera flash, sudden stress. I held him during his seizures to calm him and waited until he regained control before putting him down. It never took very long. My little boy lived a long, full, active life. Billie will too. You're in tune with her and you've got this. We're not your average birdie moms, and that's what makes the difference in the health and lives of our fids. Billie will have a full recovery. Believe that. â€â€

I thought it was a stroke. I cried so hard, I don't think I'd have kept it together as well as you did.
So glad she's doing better, and Neo you're an absolute star
strokes can happen to every bird and every other animal too. they are stressfull for them and the humans around. it's not rare for vets to tell birdowners in case of a stroke, that it would be better for them to put it to sleep. but that's not true. it's the easy way out for the owner, 'cause it needs a lot of care for the little patient and is very time consuming. But they can come back for some time to show you their happy little selves again. It can repeat...and my little canary girl didn't survive her second stroke...but the time 'till then was worth it.
My canary stopped moving in my hands while I was putting her on the cage door after a vet visit, I think it mightâve been a stroke or something with her heart. She got back up and was able to loft her head a some seconds later when my older sister took her from my hands.
Our vet said she probably died of heart failure less than a week later

My society Finch had a stroke after laying too many eggs. She recovered and lived a long time after the stroke!! It took her about a month to recover 90 percent. She lived for a long time, and had a good life!!!đâ„ïžâ„ïž
As a bird owner.. this is so painful to watch.

I completely understand the fear and stress youâre going through. Rather recently, my cockatiel Richie got incredibly sick, both bacterial and yeast at the same time. He lost a ton of weight, wouldnât sing or play or eat. Heâs not even a year old and I was NOT about to let this baby bird die. After maybe 2-3 weeks or so at least of fighting off his illness, heâs back to his happy go lucky self and has gained his weight back plus some more since heâs still growing
Point being I know how scary it is and I cried many tears and spent many hours watching over him. He scared the F outta me but he got through and with the right supports and time Iâm sure your little Billie will make it through as well

I'm glad she is fine now. I had a male baby bird called ' Benny ' who had the same color as Billie. He was only about 3 months or so but one morning I found him passed away on the food casket. I cried the whole day. So it warms me to see Billie is fine now and she has a good partner like Neo!

My mom thinks its stupid if your bird is sick and you take it to the vet which I think is just sad to see my mom think this
You have to be a separate individual from your mom and have your own set of values. I gree with you. Take your budgies to the vet when needed. Best.

Iâm so glad to ur budgie successfully survived the whole stroke and her paralysis. My budgie had the same issue I took it to a vet where she examined it as stroke and half paralysis. Unfortunately after putting all of my efforts he couldnât survive.

Im so relieved sheâs doing better! Once we found a paralyzed sparrow in our backyard, we brought him in for the night. The next day he started going crazy and flapping his wings but couldnât fly, he died a couple minutes laterđ đ . Hope your she has a full recovery and is herself again â€ïžâđ©č

My budgie RICO once had these constant seizures. The first time, he scared me to death, but luckily he recovered mostly on his own. Soon after though, when he seemed all right a month or so later, I came home sometime in the afternoon after being away for an hour or so and I found him lying on the bottom of the cage. His head seemed crooked and I didn't know what to do. I was deathly worried. I tried taking him out by restraining him carefully with a towel and tried to give him water. He didn't make it through the night. Since then, I have been struggling to get another budgie because I thought I had a lack of knowledge that was needed through veterinary care. For this reason, because we have no avian vets near us or even within a 2-hour drive away, I have been back and forth on the line of getting another budgie. I think after 4 years of this mental battle, I have convinced myself to try again. This time though, I have done my research, read the books, watched 100's of avian videos of yours and other budgie owners, and have educated myself enough to a point where I can treat most problems, or prevent and spot them before they get worse, without help from an avian vet whom I do not have the time, nor the money, to go and visit with a 3-hour drive. I have researched the tried and true diet, cages, and almost everything you may need to know, but I came here to thank you for all your help in the times I have struggled or worried for my budgies, and its thanks to you, that I can give my new budgie a happy and well-lived life.
