Unfortunately there are some very cruel people out there in the world.
The person who abandoned her near the trash bins have risked her life, someone could just take the box she was in and throw her inside the trash bin.
She and I are both lucky that we found each other.
We treated her carefully and she now looks healthy.
The next step would probably be to find her a new home.

Edit after 1.5 years, birds can't see at dark, they are literally blind and frozen.

I rescued a domesticated budgie after she walked up to my porch on a windy day. She has been part of my family for 3 days now 🌟.
I did same with Zebra finch. Just flew to the doorway-had her for years!

The precious little soul looked so happy to have food, water and care. How thoughful of this man to save this baby. I hope he keeps it.
We had a very similar experience with a cat. Someone left her on the sidewalk taped up in a cardboard box with airholes and a note saying her name was Lady and she was 12 years old. We adopted her immediately and took her to the vet to make sure she was healthy. She passed away from jaw cancer 8 months later but at least she was loved and cared for up until the end. I can't believe how cruel people can be! You are one of the good ones!

The fact u took her in was enough for her. I’ve lost one of my cats and honestly it’s so painful so I just can’t imagine ppl throwing their pets away. Pets are family. Some ppl honestly don’t deserve them
@@jiyan2220 i know that pain you are talking about. Our 22 year old cat passed away and it has never been the same! At the very least, they could take the animal to the humane society where it has the chance to find another home!

I am glad that you got to the bird in time . It's sad how people do this to animals. Animals have feelings just like us. They are God's creatures we got to love , take care of and protect them. I hope the bird gets a good home.

@@Dwaxxx Many people don't know how to have a balanced diet without eating meat. I don't know what would happen to me if I didn't eat red meat - my iron level is low as in many women. But that doesn't mean eating meat is not a sin. The whole Western culture and well as Christianity has to be changed I'm accordance that killing animals is a sin. If it ever happens, it will take centuries. But you should be able to consider the complexity of the situation (about eating chicken in a restaurant) as opposed to the bird that is still alive and can be saved.
May we take a moment to thank the OP for taking the bird in and tending to it's needs. The world is full of cruel and horrible people, but it's the angels hiding in human clothing like this person and all others who tend to these animals that are the heros that these animals need.
The people that throw the canary in the trash should go to hell!

I think a child was trying to care for it, and when one or both of the parents found out, they told the child they were taking it to the vet, only to throw the poor bird out. They probably went back and told the child that, "oh, you're not allowed to own birds like that, so the vet is sending it to a sanctuary" sounds outlandish and horrible, but I had a friend that had evil parents like this.
Yeah my mom did that with my budgies when I was a kid . I have yet to get over it

@Esau Davis And I agree, but what isn't fair is throwing the bird in the trash in a closed box. It literally had a 0% chance of survival for two reasons, it's a domestic bird, and the box was closed. I agree, kids should never get pets w/o parent's permission, but the least the parents could have done was try to rehome it.

Could’ve also been some horrible keepers that only kept a canary because they wanted it to sing, when it turned out it was a girl, and couldn’t sing they threw the bird out.
She will love you forever for saving her from that nasty box! Give her a little salad with her seeds and she will think you are the best thing ever! She will probably like apple too! My canaries liked those foods so much. Bless you for taking care of this little animal. You are a treasure to the world because you care for helpless creatures!

Thank you so much for saving the poor bird. The people who put it out for garbage are garbage themselves. If you hadn't found it and the trash collectors hadn't noticed the airholes it would have been killed in the truck. The thought alone is disgusting🤬 Thankfully you have ensured it's survival and the possibility of a loving new home.

Some people really think that small birds are just decorations you can just throw out whenever. I used to think the same about my finch when I was younger, but I now realize just how sweet these little guys can be, and each and every one of them deserve the best.
I still have my finch, and I make sure to spend time with him every day to try and make up for how I ignored him when he was younger.
Edit: My finch passed away May of 2022, his name was Tuesday and he was 16 years old. He died peacefully, surrounded by his favorite seeds and in his favorite spot by the window. Rest in peace lil guy, I still miss you.

I’m not trying to throw shade on them, but I’m not certain that they even rescued it. The first video this dude had about saving a Budgie that was in the garbage was a tad bit sus, but I decided that it was a one time occurrence and so it was likely true. But that video got likes and views, and since then, there’s been more of them. It really is super suspicious now

It looked so happy while it was eating the seeds! I love birds ^w^ there was this robin fledgling that was abandoned by its parents (it should have been able to fly, but slight deformities made doing so very difficult), so I took her in and took care of her. With a bit of help, she managed to learn how to fly! She's mostly where my strong love for birds comes from.

@@hardcandy7295 Yeah, and I think that's great. But, there are help animal channels that, unfortunately, deliberately put animals in these situations so that they can do videos for their channels. So, I always have trouble trusting all help animal channels now. Just suspicious that he happened upon an abandoned animal amongst his neighbours trash. Not saying it wouldn't happen and also not saying that he did this. Just saying that I have trust issues with these videos and am in two minds about it. I don't want to support someone purposely doing this.

I actually have 2 parrots at my grandma’s house. the story is: My great-grandma got these birds. My great-grandma had a surgery but she was so old that she couldn’t recover from the surgery. The parrots were never named because she died. She just called them “birdies”. I was crying the whole school even coming home. I will call them birdies as to honor my great-grandma.

The only thing I have to say is when anyone decides to get a pet of any kind, no matter if it's a large dog, a small fish, or tiny little bird, please think before you get it as it is a life time commitment on your part to properly care for it. If you find you can no longer care for it due to circumstances then please find a good home or give it to a good humane society so they can find a home for it. Throwing a living creature out to slowly die is cruel and heartless. I am thankful for the kindness of Salvador Budgie to have helped this wee little canary. Such a precious little bird.
