About this Ankara travel vlog:
After making the November 10th vlog about Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s Memorial Day, I explored the city a bit for another Turkish travel vlog. This time, I saw some other interesting sights, including Ankara Kalesi (Ankara Castle), the Roman Baths of Ankara, and the Temple of Augustus and Rome. I also came across many interesting bazaars on this Ankara city tour.
I also ate some delicious Turkish food. I stopped at a restaurant called Ankara Aspava. I ordered a Servis Döner, which came with a Döner and many sides. I especially liked Çiğ köfte and Cacik. If you travel to Ankara, you’ll have a great time. There are many friendly Turks, historical attractions and unique Turkish cuisines!
About Ankara history:
Ankara, Türkiye's capital, stands as a testament to millennia of history, boasting a rich tapestry woven with the threads of ancient civilizations. From its humble beginnings as Ancyra, the city evolved into a pivotal center for the Hittites, Phrygians, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans, each leaving indelible marks on its landscape and culture. Anchored by the imposing Ankara Castle, a symbol of its strategic importance as a trading hub and military stronghold, the city's story unfolds through its ancient ruins and historical landmarks.
In the 20th century, Ankara witnessed a transformative period under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, whose nationalist movement paved the way for establishing the Republic of Türkiye, with Ankara as its capital. Today, Ankara thrives as a modern metropolis, seamlessly blending its storied past with contemporary life, offering visitors a captivating journey through time and culture. Explore Ankara's history and heritage, where ancient echoes resonate amidst the bustling streets and vibrant neighborhoods.
About Ankara tourism:
Ankara, Türkiye 's capital, offers a diverse and enriching tourism experience, blending rich history with modern charm. Visitors can explore ancient ruins dating back to the Hittites and Romans, including the iconic Ankara Castle and the Anatolian Civilizations Museum, which houses artifacts spanning thousands of years. Must-see attractions also include Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's mausoleum, modern Türkiye 's founder, and the Roman Temple of Augustus.
Beyond its historical sites, Ankara boasts vibrant markets, bustling cafes, and a thriving arts scene. Explore the lively neighborhoods of Kızılay and Kavaklıdere, where traditional bazaars and contemporary galleries coexist harmoniously. The city offers picturesque parks and green spaces for nature enthusiasts, perfect for leisurely strolls or picnics. Ankara's culinary scene is equally enticing, with many restaurants serving authentic Turkish cuisine alongside international fare.
Whether you're intrigued by ancient history, fascinated by modern culture, or simply seeking culinary delights, Ankara promises a memorable and rewarding tourism experience for all.

Hello, the studies you have done about the places you have visited are truly appreciated. I am always surprised that all of them are learned correctly and in detail. I am quite surprised to hear from you details that I think even many Turkish people do not know. I appreciate your respect for your work. I have no doubt that I will continue to enjoy watching it.
I appreciate it! I do what I can to help people learn things. Thanks for watching!
Cacik made with yogurt, cucumber, dry mint, garlic, olive oil& water as a refreshing side dish. Cig kofte is made by soybean&spices with pomagranate souce on top, eaten wraping in lettuce. And the one guy called ‘turkish, is called ‘kopoglu’ very small pieces of turkish onion salad with much spice , and you were correct about to eat that with your pita bread on top.

Turkeye is beautiful
Bitmediniz .. what makes you think that the perspective of Türkiye is bad? Who gives a shit about what Westerners think about Türkiye. Know who you are and put your head up.
@@TheTraWELLer i actually agree with you. Who cares what they think? If they couldnt learn modern Turkia till now, then it is ok if they have a bad view. We have much bigger problems, rather than considering what westerners think about us.

8:43 in Turkey main roads are generally named after where that highway ends up getting. So there is like İstanbul, Eskişehir, Konya highways in Ankara and they are all in the middle of the city but they end up arriving cities they are named after. That sign means you are gonna end up in the highway named İstanbul. Kinda weird but yeah that's the reason.
Interesting! Makes more sense when you explain it like that hahaha
Very nice. Never saw
anything about the capital of Turkey before. Thank you!!

@@TravelLordOnLoc thanks! I'm hoping to explore the country as much as I can as well
10:08 What you see here is the first floor heating system known to history; these cylinders had stones on them, and these stones formed the floor of the house. In modern floor heating technique is still realised by a similar principle. The Romans, in fact the entire pre-electric era, heat was very important. You couldn't just leave the heated water, even if it was dirty, or the heated air, you had to find a way to use it again and again. Ottoman architecture was very much influenced by Roman architecture in this direction. The foundations of many mosques and baths(hamams) were built and operated with the same Roman culture.
I am definitely waiting for a video where you talk to the Turks and try street flavours!
Thanks for the info! Those were better than I expected actually

You have visited some very beautiful cities. I hope you will visit my hometown, Yalova, on your next trip. Yalova is a city that Atatürk used to rest and called "my city". It is a city that is highly appreciated by those who love thermal spas with its healing waters. Thank you for visiting Turkey and for these beautiful videos. 🧿🙋🏻♀️

I can add some explanations from Taste Atlas for Turkish meals. I don't want to add any link because of spam protection.
14:30 Çiğ Köfte: "Nowadays, due to food safety regulations and health concerns, the meat is almost always replaced with bulgur and ground walnuts,"
Pomegranate sour sauce is poured over the raw meatballs. It can be eaten wrapped in lettuce.
15:02 Cacık: Cacık is served chilled and it is used for virtually everything from various appetizers to main dishes. It pairs especially well with classic Turkish meat fare such as köfte and kebabs of all kinds. As a side dish, cacık is typically enjoyed in place of a salad, diluted with water and eaten with a spoon, like soup.
15:21 Acılı Ezme: is a flavorful Turkish dish that is traditionally served as a meze, especially in places that serve kebabs. It consists of tomatoes, onions, chili peppers, garlic, parsley, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, sumac, and a bit of dried mint. The vegetables are always hand chopped and never blended because the concoction becomes too juicy. It is recommended to serve acılı ezme with lavash flatbread and ayran on the side.
Thanks for the info! When I went there actually I didn’t know what food they had so I wasn’t so prepared. I wish I had this info when I shot the video!

The smaller dishes used as appetizers are generally called meze (mezze). This one in particular is ezme. As for the main dish, well, it is culturally appropriate to enjoy it the way you see it fit. I'd personally wrap it up and ask for more bread. Comfort over anything in Türkiye
