  • Ever get your bow back from the shop to find it doesn't hit peak weight anymore? Or maybe you did the string and cable changeout yourself and things just didn't go back right. In this video, I share my process for swapping out strings and cables to hopefully avoid the mess ups.

Great instructions. Q to loosen the cable is it clockwise or counterclockwise? Do most string companies have older bow specs?

Hi Ryan i really like your videos. Well I have one question. Since I am shooting 145 meters (bhutan archery) with fingers without a scope. I would like to seek help from you. I shoot 65 lbs and my arrow is 10.7% FOC shooting Axis 5mm. What do you recommend?

Wow! that's far. I don't think my current setup would reach that distance on the sight scale for me. Maybe 120yards tops but my arrow is slow relatively. I don't know the specific application you shoot in but from a pure consistency standpoint, yeah something 10-15% FOC is probably a good idea for long distance. If you're expecting a sight to reach that far, maybe some speed or higher peep height setting could help. Short guys like me can't really get a sight that far without some special application modifying.

Hey Ryan, which d-loop size do you use? #23 or #24

Please tell me. When I execute the shot my bow hand lifts up. What would be the problem? Thanks

Could be a number of things, so it would be hard for me to assume without seeing it myself. But a few things : Maybe your bow is rear weighted biased toward you so on firing bow tilts up, maybe you tend to hold low under the target (very common) and folks may try to sneak the sight up from the bottom and fire it on the way up causing an upward motion on firing. Hard to say without seeing. And unfortunately, a fix for all the reasons it could be may be different for each and doing the wrong fix for a misdiagnosed problem could make it way worse. Best would be maybe video yourself and have a look.

I want to say, “just don’t do that.” But that isn’t much help perhaps. If you’re holding low and sneaking it up just to try to punch it when it hits middle, that could be a problem. You could try a drill just drawing the bow slightly above target. Aggressively come to center and hold it in the middle as long as you can. Don’t fire. Do this a bit until pretty easy. Then incorporate shooting. Be careful not to regress back into the old habit. It happens once, go right back to beginning. It maybe a tough habit to break. Even I do that sometimes. Not sure that’s causing the problem but it could be one. Best would be to video yourself and see
