Please keep this in mind, I do not classify myself as a "comp", "casual", "realistic", or "cheesy" player. I play different playstyles throughout the year, and mainly play both sides of the floor. So this has nothing to do with pandering to a specific playstyle, and has everything to do with holding 2K accountable and providing solutions for any current issues 💯
The real problem is the community..Everybody wants different things and 2K can’t find the balance for everybody even tho I think the game is the most balanced it’s been in years

I feel like I have no issue launching out of breakdown combos. Timing and correct input helped me out honestly because I can’t L2 cancel to save my life. A lot of people don’t care to try other styles. But you were right with the majority of what you said. Around Christmas 2k makes the game tremendously easier. Compared to launch shooting is wayyyyyy easier now. Screens have been the longest ongoing issue I don’t like I can literally put my controller down and I still get pulled into the screen. They are too out of touch with basketball and have no competition so they do whatever they want knowing people will buy the game eventually

2k bread and butter was 5 vs 5 regular team basketball. Anytime they got it right in the park or myteam was an accident. Which is evident by them not being able to do it again

EXACTLY. The problem is 2k doesn’t know how to balance anything. 24 has to be some of the worst dribbling and most of the moves in the game don’t do shit. It’s crazy cause we get a 2k game every year. You would THINK they figured shit out by now right? 💀
24 has the most realistic dribbling since forever and that’s why most of y’all mad..I get ankle breakers like it’s nothing still

Man i just don't get dribbling anymore. After 2k22 i just gave up on dribbling cuz there's so many specific animations you have to use just to be effective but my problem with that is, for me to be able to use those specific animations; I have to make a build that doesn't play how i want to play and/or i don't have fun on. So at this point i just play on whatever build i have fun on with whatever animations and try to have what little fun i can cuz the meta is so tiresome to me. The one time i made a "meta" build, it was the worst and least fun time I've ever had playing 2k. I don't care about winning if I'm not having fun and fun is the whole point of video games existing
The game is just not good ... Having to create multiple Jumpers because the servers are time delayed. Taking sometimes ten minutes to join multiplayer games. 2k just sucks now

That tweet always pissed me off. What do you mean you hate "speed boosting"? How can any guard, or player for that matter effectively use their dribble moves to get into open space lmao. They think speed boosting is some type of glitch or something meanwhile we've have badges named quick first step and LITERALLY SPEED BOOSTER.
The comp vs casual skill issue thing is so funny because a fighting game in Tekken, has a mechanic called a Korean backdash. That backdash is the standard in movement because without it you move like a snail just trying to back away from your opponent. The legacy players want it to continue to be a mechanic that new players have to learn, but newer players think that something as simple as basic movement shouldn't be gatekept by a tech. Kind of similar to 2K.
Yeah I don’t get why some people instantly get hateful when they see a “speed boost”, I get if something is too fast but we gotta be able to change speeds to even get by a defender
If y’all can’t dribble just say that..Speed boost is definitely not needed to get ankle breakers or even to do the cheesy ass side to side move
@@shinsukecorbin425 If you are an idiot that is ok too! The Ai even burst out of dribble moves, so I don't understand how me wanting to change my pace is me not knowing how to dribble. Nobody said anything about getting an ankle breaker, because you can't break someone's ankles with a speed boost, or anything about going side to side.

It’s so many animations in the game and all these seasons and we don’t even have that many compared to how many are in game . Then everybody has the same moves so everything is predictable or spammed
And sad part about the animations is alot of them are copy and paste from players to player..i went through pull ups looking a nice step back. And Luka, Lavine, Derozen, Gordaj Hayward, all have the exact same step back move animations. Lazy LAZY game design.. i literally changed from Lavine to Luka and thought i must of forgot to equip it because it was exactly the same. But it wasnt smh.
I think the stamina affected non ball handlers the most. If I try to dribble with a post player too much I can’t do anything lol. Not mad about it but idk if I feel it as much with my ball handling builds
What kills me is when you beat someone off the dribble and drive your player slows to almost a jog and the defender ends up catching up. It’s so wack, it’s even like that on fast breaks. They don’t give a fuck about this game and they won’t until y’all stop putting so much money into your builds. That’s why I’ve only played MyNBA, at least that’s free after purchasing the game

I always said the it’s the defensive aspect of the game that sucks not offensive you nerfing offense just makes the game boring and repetitive. I really think they just don’t have the ability to improve the way defense is played 🤦🏾♂️
They been nerfing dribbling the last 2ks. They nerfed it this year giving the appearance defense improved more than it really did. 2k22 you could burst out same side ball hand or cross over. Starting 2k23 you had to choose between having a good same side burst or good cross over, same for 24.

Its how I feel for a long time … they need to change the engine, complete revamp. I play myteam and playing defense is just impossible between cheesey moves & getting stuck on screens on ball & offball.
Its just so bad atm … sliding sucks and the input delay makes it impossible to actually play proper defense. Plus the offense gets bailed out with fouls when you properly contest.
NEED A REVAMP OF THE ENTIRE ENGINE! STOP RECYCLING THE SAME SHIT PRODUCT AND GIVE US A BETTER SIMULATION

The best thing that 2k should do and should have been did is adding a actual realistic hezi mechanic where u can press square and if let’s say u have a high enough pump fake masteyo then he will pump fake with out picking up the ball and the shot meter can pop up as well compared to in real life where a hezi is one of the most used moves in backetball that keeps the defender guessing
Dribbling is too animation based so it makes it clunky and takes away all the smoothness that it once had

You have to combo out of it… time it right and do an escape out of it. It’s not meant to break your opponents ankles, it’s meant to help chain together combos. You’re using it wrong.

@@Z33dottI feel you & am aware of the part of chaining together your combos into your escape move, but i’m trying to highlight that if a defender reaches during those size ups, I should be able to burst rather than waste time with an extra move that might just allow them to catch up (Like in real life “you reach I teach” sort of thing).
And that’s something that used to be in the older 2Ks but the new ProPlay engine I guess restricts that this year

Im not understanding how everybody complains about dribbling but yet they use the same exact dribble moves as everybody else to cheese. Its wild that yall say that "There are no dribble moves to use" but yet you have to pick the most blatant exploitive moves (Jamal Murray, John wall and the hesi into the speed boost and left righting with it especially). I purposely use different ones from everybody else and still have fun with it and get open but not every time. Its okay for people to get a stop and clamp you. Every possession is not supposed to be you getting past the defender and that's the issue that most people cant accept. You don't need the super speed boost out of a move every single time. Sometimes you just gotta use finesse ad I could see some more realistic takeoffs out of a dribble move but lets be honest. Even if yall are still gone cheese with the best moves regardless and if it dont work you just gone hide behind a screen and spam these moves too. Nobody original anymore and I think that's the problem. Yall want to be the best rather than just what yall need to win. If you want to be explosive it should be only for certain builds at this point also. If you 6'7 and up trying to constantly speed boost then we shouldn't be even pushing for that. Leave that shii for niggas that at least 6'5 below which makes more sense. I dont see an issue with a Kyrie type build dribbling on me and getting open. I do have an issue with a 6'9 power forward throwing the ball around and taking off from me faster than I can even come out of a strafe to keep up with even with a good angle or even with a bump, they continue they stepback, dribble and do the same thing and it works because its not about how you finesse with it and actually break down a defender. Its about how much you can spam the same moves until 2k allows the defense to finally breakdown because something you know shouldnt work, ends up working. There is no size up dribbles into a speed to at least do something different, there is no triple threats anymore its automatic put the ball to the ground and do the same string of moves hoping for success with it. Its not good basketball regardless of how you look at it. Comp, cheesy or just casual for anybody because its just the community itself at this point.

We are playing the game that 2k made. I haven’t used John wall pullback since early season 2. I use triple threat I got some crazy clips. In previous years in 2k you could use non meta moves and still win. This year you need certain moves bc you will not score on a good defender with out them. Anybody can score on the majority of the bums in the community with non meta. But you will not get a 3 off on a good defender consistently w/o the Murray btb. Without Murray’s btb and L2 canceling you would not score on a good defender. The dribbling is to trash and predictable. You’ve never played a 99perim 99steal lock and it shows when y’all say stuff like this.

If u cant get to the rim without Magic Johnson, devin booker, or john wall u shouldn't be crying about dribbling. My main mode in 24 is 1v1 theater, and dont use none of those moves. U dont have to speed boost or have an explosion out of a hesi to score. Maybe if ppl would be themselves in 2k, nobody would get patched as much, BUT everyone has to be meta.

Skill issue. Old 2Ks made offense greater than the defense meaning the offense had a significant advantage whether it was dribbling movement/speed vs lateral speed, realistic steal vs no steal, and many more. Old 2Ks when a dribbler gets beat to a spot by a defender the dribbler would still get past with zero bump/cutoff animations. Or when a dribbler is dribbling in front of a lockdowns face and the lock can’t get the ball for some weird reason. Spam dribbling isn’t realistic it’s just acarde-like and if you’re gonna go that route make sure the defense matches that kind of level of play. Spam dribble vs spam reach let’s see how fun that is. 2k24 and up will just make offense vs defense more balanced and I’m glad it’s going in the right direction.

There's a plethora of things that are wrong with this game and franchise. But the biggest ones are that 2K and VC are just completely out of touch with reality and greedy as hell. I loved to hate on EA for being greedy when still playong fifa, but honest to god 2K beats them in all regards on that front. You can't even play around with builds anymore without cashing in or be a complete nolifer. In 23 and 24 I have one build each and never even maxed them out while I had 3-4 builds each in the previous games with at the very least 1 maxed out. I started with 21 and only ever bought the games on sale and still feel ripped off. Almost 200gb on my SSD just to be frustrated when trying to have some fun online? Hell nah, complainig ain't worth a damn, deinstall that ish and install some singleplayer games worth playing. The only solution there is to this bs. The devs have brainrot and the playerbase is dumb at best and ridicukously toxic for no damn reason at worst, people literally start crying 10 seconds into a rec game.
