- Through the First Person program, Holocaust survivors have the opportunity to share their remarkable personal stories of hope, tragedy, and survival with thousands of visitors at the Museum. This program was recorded on May 4, 2017. It features Martin Weiss, who was born in Polana, Czechoslovakia in 1929. Marty and other family members were arrested and deported to the Munkacs ghetto and later to Auschwitz. Marty was liberated at Gunskirchen on May 5, 1945.
"Despite that we were dehumized, we did not feel like humans, we still acted like human beings"
Thank you for sharing your story!
Reliving every moment. Thank you for sharing your story.
Ive watched Mr. Weiss's Shoa foundation interview more than once. He is a hero. And a true gentleman. 🤘
He is a beautiful human being, thanks for sharing, ❤ from Melbourne 🇦🇺🙏💕
I adore this man
Thank you for your testimony.
Why we have to rush..,this is a very important testimony 😰
Yes, I wonder the same thing...
I'm so sad this was rushed... I wish I can hear his full story
Thank you so much for sharing with me an infamous fragment of the Hitler's Nazi horrendous regimen, via this interview.
It must have been a painful odyssey to recollect such memories and to recount them; they only echo the evilness of Hitler and his followers.
The crimes and cruelties committed against my sons and daughters, my fathers and mothers, my brothers and sisters hurt me deeply, regardless their ethnicity and nationality.
In Isaiah 2: 4, Jehovah God, the Creator and Source of life, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, promises:
"He will be judge among the nations and will settle matters in relation to many peoples. They will turn their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. The nations will no longer raise their swords against each other and learn no more to wage war."
My immediate neighbors are Jews and I am a Jehovah's Witness.
Their hearts are superior than pure gold by far. They are extremely kind.
The gentleman takes care of my trash can every Wednesday without my asking him to do so. They are lovely human beings, and they are not in need of the smallest improvement.
The barbarians! You did not act like a barbarian and nobody can ever take that from you.
Interesting and heartbreaking. On a separate note, he should have written some notes so he wouldn't go off the beaten path so much.
His life didn't include any beaten path; his story should be respected if he wants to turn cartwheels in the middle of it
I think his is the best one I've heard. I respect that he showed emotion
Some people see ignorance as a gem it seems. Not so this born linguist and racconteur. He still has a zest for life.
Remember he is probably in his 90s so he did pretty damn well
