My uncle came back, but I was never allowed within 50 feet of him. Very scary. You are first person that really has recognized this. World War II and the holocaust are beyond human understanding. So was the Pacific WWII. I can't imagine the destruction of the human heart. Americans/allies are often blamed for letting this happen. Thank you for recognizing that we offered our families to stop it. Our families lived with it forever also. My mom grew up with her big brother who went through this. It destroyed her mentally. She inflicted this on us. Thank you for not blaming, but understanding it was a mess all around.
My father was a Marine who fought in Normandy as well as other places during WW11. He is buried in Quantico National Cemetery in VA. I am so proud of what he helped do.. restore freedom to Europe.
