  • If you own a sailboat or powerboat, eventually you will need to do a night navigation passage, but before you leave the dock or anchorage, it is important to consider your watch schedule and your safety gear. In this video I walk you through how we create a watch schedule for Karen and I onboard our sailboat Sea Rose. Further, I step through the personal safety gear and procedures we employ, including the use of marine navigational instruments such as radar and AIS, to ensure we avoid collisions and arrive at our destination safe and rested.
Be sure to check out our other boating how to videos on our channel. We cover a wide range of topics, such as varnishing, solar power, and navigation electronics. We also post regularly on our sailing adventures onboard our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 ‘Sea Rose’.
Lastly, check out our blog site - www.lifefourpointzero.com. We periodically post written stories and pictures of our sailing adventures on our blog.
