  • For as long as we've dreamed of sailing in Sweden, Finland and Norway, we have had our sights set on the archipelago outside of Gothenburg (or Göteborg). In this episode, we arrive in that very special place and begin a couple-week exploration of the quaint island communities, beautiful rocky shorelines and narrow channels.
In this episode, we take three 60-80 mile hops from Simrisham all of the way into the archipelago off of Göteborg. First, we navigate to and through the Falsterbo Canal in order to cut off a couple hours and the busy shipping lanes near Sweden’s southwestern point. On the next day, we sail past Copenhagen then Helsingborg/Helsingor and we leave the protection of the Oresund as we make our way further north. We anchor off of beautiful Hallands Väderö but depart very early the next day as our anchorage becomes dangerous with inbound swells and high winds. Tom injures himself on this next leg of our trip and I need to play Nurse Karen!
Join us next time as we really dive into exploring this beautiful archipelago!
    Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the foggy video. My wife and I sailed the same area last fall, so its fun to see it all again. The castle is Kronborg claimed the be the site of Shakespeare's Hamlet.
We also invested in a headset and haven't regretted it since.

Glad you liked it, thanks for watching. That is a fun area to sail. Where is your home port?
      Yes, the headsets are amazing.

Back in the 70s, (I was probably 16 at the time) I was going below on my sister's 22' boat (S2 6.8) and the boat lurched in a powerboat wake just as I was placing my foot on the step below and my foot missed the step and I fell into the cabin, landing on my ribs on the fiddle of the galley. I may have cracked a rib, as I was in considerable pain for a few days.

Thank you for the information. We did know about that but didn’t feel the situation was enough of an emergency to involve them. Appreciate the comment/suggestion.
