  • How to use Mixamo animations with Blender 3.0 and how to combine multiple Mixamo animations in the Blender Nonlinear Animation (NLA) Editor.
Mixamo has free 3D characters and animations which can be combined together using Blender's nonlinear animation editor (NLA). This tutorial will show you how to download characters and animations from Mixamo and import them into Blender. It will also show you how to upload your own 3D character to Mixamo to be animated. We will cover the Mixamo Blender add-on and finally the best part: How to use the Blender NLA editor.
If you've never used nonlinear animation before, it's about to change how you look at 3D animation. It changes animation keyframes into animation actions that can be moved around and mixed together.
Some other things we will cover is rigging with Mixamo, inverse kinematics, the human generator addon and just a general overview of how to use Mixamo with Blender.
Here is a link to the Mixamo Blender add-on:

Thank you so much for sharing! I love this tutorial, very straight forward. I had a little problem where the Mixamo plugin didn't work. For anyone else having this issue, there's a problem with some characters in mixamo that when you are importing it to blender, the bones are not properly aligned. To fix this, just choose another character in blender and download the animation again. For me, the default bot had some problems, so I just went with the character called Cypher. I suscribed btw, ily.

Thanks heaps mate. Really clear and concise. I'm very new to this. My next aim is to upload daz 3d figures(using Facegen or Face Transfer) from daz bridge to blender then as OBJ. to mixamo. Import FBX back into blender then re-target to original clothed, haired, facially animated figure. I tried uploading FBX files to mixamo with no luck. With OBJ I end up with a workable armature Yet to sort out teeth, eyes and decent hair. Will look into Human Generator. Cheers

Combining Mixamo mocap animations like this is really powerful. I haven't used the NLA editor yet, so I'm looking forward to using it.
Thank you for taking the time to create this video. I'm looking forward to checking it out! 😃

Thank you for this. I am getting errors with the Mixamo rig. It destroys the model/rig (doesn't look like yours, and even removes the animation even though all 3 boxes are checked), and throws up a Blender traceback error message. Has anyone experienced this?

there is a time signature you can change the time to adjust the strip start and stop so you can put the strips on the same line one after another

This works perfectly, but if we apply Control Rig to have how to manipulate the main it doesn't work, at least I couldn't. Do you have any ideas on how to merge the actions after applying the Control Rig?

16:54 I keep getting the error "AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'frame_range'" when trying to bake animation. I did it the wya you instructed. Edit mode, selected all the animations. What is causing this issue?
