His philosophy on training is spot on. Why hit a tire all day with a hammer and alot of that other bs you see out there in fitness. He prefers triathlons and nature for his training. One day my Uncle saw me lifting weights and told me that was a huge waste of time. He told me to join him stacking hay bails instead. I did....got paid to do it and it was the hardest workout I ever did lol. So I understand what Nick is saying here

if jose aldo can do it for all these years... nick can as well. Jose Aldo is like the least social person in the ufc roster... especially out of all the top best fighters. It's not because his English is bad... that too... but it's really because he's not a social person in general.

its so easy to see he does not like the media attention . if you have seen what his trainer and school teachers have said about him it may make you understand he is out of his comfort z one . seems down to earth no so full of himself . for this reason so many people are on his side after his five year suspension .go back and watch his pride fights and see him show his concern that the guy he just beat up is ok .
yup. nicks mom raised them very well to b kind & enjoy training. not to hurt others for no fuckin reason & always keep it 100. his fights are genius. he literally showed more RESPECT in pride n strike than anything. making sure his opponents were ok. hugging them & bowing down in asia to refs fighters & fans. nick diaz is the man.
I grew up in Sac and understand nick's simplicity, big cities make you seek a small circle of friends and I respect his honesty. He doesn't put up a front but stays cool most the time. I live in West Texas now and miss the West coast a lot, but there's a lot of shit there that I do not miss.
Nick is a great speaker he just has anxiety with media and I think any normal person would. He's just a real fighter and not trying to speak on Big stages. I think what made McGregor good is he craved media. That's why he hired his own media team

years later, listening to Nick Diaz is refreshing. The thing about him and Nate is that first of all, you know they say what they mean. Even if you dont agree, you know thats really who they are, they not talking on the back of some institutionalised corporate agenda. Also, once the ice breaks and they get talking, they talk some real sense and give you some interesting insights that you would not normally hear from other fighters. likes how he said money takes the fun out of it and how he enjoys training martial arts etc. but hate the money aspect of it

swimming is bomb cause you hold your breath while working out.. any other sport you get to breath when ever so if you want to get some of the best stam ever get into swimming!

It's anxiety combined with an overall dislike of media and being in front of the camera. He doesn't care about fame or being a social media darling, his main concern is taking care of himself and those close to him. It sounds like his circle is extremely small but extremely loyal, a ride or die loyalty. I wish that someone gave Nick the ability to express himself and voice what's on his mind because he is such an interesting, intelligent human being and I'd love to find out what's going on in his head. Nick doesn't fight his friend - that's awesome, it shows how much the people who Nick allows to become close to him really mean to him + (I bet his friends are like sweet, I'm not gonna get my ass kicked today)........Both the Diaz brother are real, nothing fake about them. Nick has a harder time with anxiety, you can see it on his face when he is in public and a lot of people are around him.....but he is on of the great trash talkers.....Nate handles the business side a little better, he is not overwhelmed with by some of the things his older brother struggles with. But Nate is a terrible trash talker - neither express themselves very, you can tell the education and lack of positive role models in their lives. It's not hard to find there gym, it's in Lodi California, NOT STOCKTON, there's basically only one busy street in all of Lodi, basically the "downtown" area, and across the street from a big sushi restaurant you will see a black and white Cesar Gracie style "G" hanging outside, says jiujitsu on the window. If you don't want to stay in Lodi or Stockton then stay in Sacramento where I live and just drive 30 minutes to they're gym.
Nick reminds me of the super intelligent shy kid that always sits in the back of the class... never says a word and gets 98% average on every exams , but when it comes to talking in front of the class he's a no show...I know that kid...I know him very well .

Nick reminds me of the super intelligent shy kid that always sits in the back of the class... never says a word and gets 98% average on every exams , but when it comes to talking in front of the class he's a no show...I know that kid...I know him very well .
