Mike Denbrock leaves LSU to become Notre Dame OC. Matt Moscona gives his suggestions as to who he thinks could be a contender for LSU's new OC. - Sport
Sloan is my number 1 realistic option he’s locked up great qb recruits and simply helped Jayden become a heisman
Not enough play calling experience.
@@bradjohnson1229maybe a co offensive coordinator set up would work
Sloan no doubt is a critical figure for this LSU team and the future. Sloan definitely played a huge part in Jayden winning that Heisman. But the real reason he won that Heisman is on the way to South Bend. Without that great play calling Jayden would not have had such a great season. And i just don’t think Sloan has enough experience to take on this job as of yet. He’s still young and needs more experience.
@@bradjohnson1229 he was the oc at louisiana tech for 2 years. he has the play calling experience
Cortez Hankton or Joe Sloan should be OC
Joe Brady will prob be made the OC of the Buffalo Bills so I doubt he will come back to college.
Brady was not THE playcaller but Brady was allowed to call plays on certain 3rd down situations and redzone inside the 12.
Should only be Sloan before they lose him. Joe Brady is a terrible idea. Once you remove the nostalgia glasses, you learn that he absolutely hates the recruitment process. That’s a big problem.
J Brady is happy where he's at.
And he hasn't had the same success anywhere else that they shared at LSU
The only possible con with Sloan is he hasn’t had a ton of OC playcalling on his own. Bk did hire Tommy Reese who had no experience and he is doing fairly well at bama. We’ll see
Joe Brady should stay in the NFL. That's where he thinks he belongs.
Yep! It was the perfect situation! Brady didn't have to recruit. He struct while the iron was hot and instantly jumped back to the NFL. Tons of college teams wanted Brady and offered a lot of money. It's a reason why he's not in college.
Sloan is the guy for the job
Im Thinking he's a future great OC.
I’m more concerned about the defense at this point because there’s an old saying: defense wins championships, offense sells the tickets.
Not so much in this day and age....that said....nobody can win with a Defense that bad
2019 LSU should prove you wrong
@@cooperfontenot1100 LSU defense only allowed Clemson 8 points (all in the 3rd quarter) in the second half of the championship game. 😎
"Defense wins championships" used to be true. Ask Iowa how well having a great defense has worked for them.
@@WhiteLlamai mean it dosent work when your offense averages 3ppg
Kevin Johns from Duke has been an OC under Norvel and Klingsbury. He did wonders in the development of Riley Leonard and is the real reason Elko got his $42 million dollar gig.
I get the feeling that the bowl game may be Sloan’s “interview”
Good stuff but you did get the Tommy Rees info at ND incorrect.
BK will come up with a DUDE. 💯
My issue is the D. I’m all in on BK
Coming from a ND fan, don’t be all in on BK. He may not even be there next year. A lot of reports of him going to Michigan if Harbaugh leaves for the NFL.
Why is Hankton not a consideration??
He has never been an OC. LSU is not the place for a coach to get his first OC or DC job.
@@tonytemple4351 Who cares? He’s beyond qualified/capable for the job. Most first time OC’s haven’t been successful passing game coordinators for 2 of the top programs in the country. The man was more hands on for our historic offense than Sloan was.
Joe Brady’s first OC job was in the NFL after being a passing game coordinator for a grand total of 1 year.
@americancow9055 and Brady was fired in his first OC job because his offense was terrible.
@@tonytemple4351 Huge difference between college and NFL
@americancow9055 True, Nick Saban will tell us this.
How much was that's JD5 making the offense go.
My choice:
#1 Joe Sloan
#2 Casey Woods
#3 Dan Mullen
#4 Tommy Rees
BK also said he's not leaving for Michigan. I'm beginning to really wonder who to listen to ??
My question is who's going to be the replacement of the defensive coordinator or head coach?🙄🙄
Joe Brady gotta have superior talent in order to be a good OC 🤷🏾♂️ give it to Sloan
What are your thoughts on Steve Spurrier JR from Tulsa and, he is also the QB coach...
Bud lite?
Joe Brady doesn't want to be in college football as OC. Joe wants to be NFL HC. only way get Brady back in college if he takes a HC job and use that to get NFL hc job. there for I wouldn't want brady as Lsu oc again. He will leave LSU in a hole again.
Nobody’s hiring Brady as a HC lol
Crazy people still bring up Brady 😂 the guys literally got one the best offenses in the NFL at the bills he don’t want to be in college he’s made it clear his plan is to be a nfl coach even though he would have a insane pull recruiting based off his 2019 work but reality is he’s done he’s not ever coming back to college ball.
So with that said now we can talk about reality lol.
not true on joe brady not calling plays, he called 3rd down and red zone plays at LSU in 2019
From time to time only, not literally every 3rd down or red zone opportunity.
Tommy Rees did not leave ND the winningest QB in ND history...😆 not even close. Tommy Rees is a mid OC, LSU can do much better. Don't let the genius of Nick Saban fool you into believing Rees is elite, he isn't.
Chip Long would be a good hire. Sloan would be worth a shot too, especially if you believe he had the impact on JD that some have suggested.
Chip Long and Brian Kelly do not get along, the story is the Chip Long went into Kelly's office at Notre Dame and demanded that Jeff Quinn the offensive line coach be fired (because he was incompetent) but the Line coach was Kelly's friend so in the end Chip Long was the one who got fired at the end of the season, Kelly hires friends not always the best man for the job, now some of his friends happen to be talented coaches but Chip Long will not even get an interview at LSU
J Sloan knows way more than most of our fans realize.
Sloan is a goat
Sloan should get the Job.
What do you think is the delay with OC hire?
Can’t decide or BK can’t get who he wants?
I fear if he leaves it too long it might destabilize our offensive squad/commits etc.
Look at what’s happening to the D room ….. and they already got their DC/D-line coaches [the ones they wanted]
Hell naw leave Little Tommy in bama
Actually I had Joe Brady in mind for the Saints OC. Don't think Carolina was all his fault.
Why would Brady leave the Bills?
@@sls4009 it was a older thought. When I was thinking they might can Carmichael.
Why do I hear coach O saying “da joe Brady offense” now?
Tom Herman should be considered
lol 😂 he’s not taking a coordinator job
@hotelalphawhiskeykilogrunt7925 Herman makes 750 if LSU offers 1.5 I'm certain he would consider
Here's a thought. I think Brian Kelly is a very intentional guy. If he wanted to keep Mike Denbrock he would have. Perhaps Denbrock wanted to return to Notre Dame very much so he and Kelly cooked up a way for that to happen. I think Kelly always has alternatives in mind. I'm not worried about the offensive coaching. That's Kelly's warm spot. I agree with what you said about changes coming on the defensive side. I can't imagine Matt Haus being retained, the defense was just past awful and showed no indication it would get better. The player talent is there, good coaching is all that is needed to make it effective. Geaux Tigers!
Defense was in a rebuilding year do to Coach O and taking older guys in the portal the first year. Defense will be much better next year, With Matt House.
Hahaha, you just told us that you do not know shit about the LSU program. There was a complete lack of talent on the defensive side this year. Lack of talent and lack of depth were directly responsible for the down year. It's funny everyone LOVED House last year when the defense was the bright spot. Last year, you were probably one of the mental midgets who wanted Denbrock fired.
He had no chance at keeping Denbrock! BK is BK lazy recruiter decent coach that only wins games he should win! He’ll never win a natty
@@doubledown4682 You better clean your crystal ball, we comin’!!
@@doubledown4682 I agree with this when he was as ND. BK will win Championships at LSU.
Cortez Hankton
It's going to be Joe Sloan, BK knows he has to get the number one recruit out of Michigan.
Why are we not having this discussion about a DC?
Most LSU fans are wanting Sloan, I was one of them. After thinking for a few days I’ll wait til after the bowl game to decide because there’s countless position coaches that don’t make good coordinators. There’s a big difference from coaching up positions to in game adjustments and play calling
Tech fan here. It was Skip Holtz calling plays. Sloan bears no blame for Tech’s decline in offense those two years
Joe Brady doesn’t like to recruit.
Did you see the organizational problems? Mike did not take Head Coach position but the lateral movement. I prefer to young OC.
What about Dan Mullen? I think he should be one for the job best playcaller history and know for running good numbers with qb play that lsu has rn.
Just like Brady he has trouble recruiting so it’ll be a misfire
Thought Joe Brady hated recruiting and was an NFL guy
Jayden is a once or twice in a lifetime player. He made Denbrock look good. Just like Burrow made Brady look better than he was!
If Hurley is what we hope he is going to be, he’s going to make whoever is calling the play look pretty good unless they bring in someone like Matt Canada!
Denbrock has been successful at every stop cut the cap and admit you’re mad he ditched. Just a couple of days ago it was “No way he isn’t leaving” 😂😂
Throw bullfrog In there Matt 😂
Who dat
@@joeparker7508dude who notoriously when on a lot of lsu channels and would type 10 paragraph comments on why Jayden Daniels sucked and limits our offense and we need to start nuss. He hasn’t said a thing since around Mississippi state 😂
Sloan due to the fact of his development of Jayden and his recruitment of top QB’s !
if somehow someway bk can lure will stein away from oregon i think he can turn nuss into a mini joe burrow. with what he did with bo nix the last couple years i think it’s very enticing considering nix’s and nuss’ similar play styles
True
Doubt it! Nuss is a mini Jarret Lee!! Pick 6!
Is BK going to Michigan or what
Love LSU my uncle was professor their but, i feel LSU and Notre dame are very similar no poaching.
Joe Sloan did not plays at La Tech. Skip Holtz did.
I think LSU fans get spoiled into thinking every year should be like the best year. Whoever gets the OC job is expected to keep LSU's offense ranked #1 or pretty close. That's not realistic. Hankton has only been a WR coach and Passing game coordinator. Remember Jake Peetz? Joe Sloan is a really good QB coach, but just because he's been a OC before doesn't mean he's the best option. His offenses at LA Tech were not that great. Look elsewhere!
Joe Brady is the offensive coordinator with the bills.😊😅😂 I don't think so, sir!
Sloan should be The Offensive coordinator. Changing sides of the ball to the defense,
Defensive coordinator deline coach DBU with Corey Raymond.
Usually OC will become a head coach. Or go up to the NFL. ND took him. Poached him. Just like LSU did with Brian Kelly
Why has Mike denbrock not been officially announced yet!? Been rumored for days now but for some reason it’s not been announced which is strange wouldn’t it be crazy if all this was a story put out by a media guy way to early and nothing comes of it lmao 🤣
I personally don’t think so with all the story’s but it would be wild
What's not officially announced?
Why would Rees take a step down?
BK and Chip Long had a falling out at ND, I highly doubt he will be an option.
you're 100% right, Chip Long got fired for demanding the incompetent offensive line coach Jeff Quinn (Kelly's friend) be let go. chip Long will not even be considered for the position
Do not want T Reese.
Joe Brady hasn’t done a damn thing since 2019 and he didn’t call plays then. And then with Carolina he was AWFUL.
Lol. You need to do some research about chip long leaving ND.
Had major issues with Brian Kelly and Kelly buried him as he left publicly and totally unfairly. I'd be shocked if long would talk to Kelly much less work for him. The AD hired him at ND not Kelly
Saban didn't exactly set the NFL world on fire as expected, but there he is, the best college football coach of the current Era. I'm just saying that your point about Brady in the NFL is moot as college football goes. The same can be said for Spurrier. It's not the same damn thing, and I tend to hear you, but I don't see how you don't seem to see that.
This is not a Joe Brady endorsement.
Go after the A&M coordinator they just hired
Losing a Offensive Coordinator to a head coaching job is a sign of a success program; losing one to the same position is a sign of him leaving to a better program.
Not true! The man's ENTIRE family is in Michigan! Actually, an hour and a half from Southbend!
@@larrybonds4222 2 1/2 hour drive versus a 3 hour flight? Not much of a difference.
We need a defensive back coach. Ours left the program because of his illness
Would love to have Joe Brady back but he’s killing it in Buffalo right now !
JOE SLOAN PERIOD
Well, fire the whole defensive staff then. Based on the QB we have. He is a “gunslinger,” here’s the OC we should look at:
Joseph Cale Gundy
A.J. RICKER
Kliff Kingsbury
Josh Henson (he was the TE coach in 2005-2008)
JERRY MACK.
Most of these Coach various versions of the air raid offense.
Joe Brady ain’t ever coming back
And that's a good thing.
That 2018 offense wasn’t good with just Steve Ensminger 🙄
Naming Joe Brady loses credibility. JB loves where he's at.
He’s addressing an LSU audience and he covered why it was unlikely. He didn’t say he wanted him or thought it was realistic.
How good was Jake Peetz?
I wish they stop bringing up Brady.
Sloan over Brady all day long and Reese isn’t leaving Bama for LSU I don’t think. That leaves Joe Sloan and Long.
Its The PLAYER Not The COACH
You do know that Brian Kelly fired Chip Long at Notre Dame, don’t you?
He’s re-hired guys he fired before.
@@theknightswhosay I did not know that.
Chip was a good oc at ND. He got fired for reasons not related to being an oc and ill leave it at that
He also wasn't hired by Brian Kelly. Kelly was forced to fire the OC and DC to keep his job and the AD had a hand in his next hires, basically forcing him to go outside his good old boy network.
Most of what Kelly said about long on the way out was proven untrue, Kelly just didn't get along with the guy.
@@SuperMirer So why would Kerlly hire him at LSU?
Kudos to U 4 Ur candor on the Denbrock departure. As U pointed out in Ur last show this was an administrative fumble and error in assumption by BK thinking he could wait til the Board meeting
I’m certain the LSU job will be attractive to multiple top candidates
Reese? Why would Reese leave the goat & the Bama machine? He already told BK no once as U outlined. A few hundred grand per year won’t change Reese lifestyle. These young coaches done have lives outside of football anyway. I watched Reese suffer the red faced sideline rants of BK- guy still probably has nightmares. ND AD hired a shrink/coach to help BK “evolve”… despite his unlikeabilty BK was Alltime winner..
Butthurt itrash fan still salty😅😅😅😅😅
If Joe Brady hated recruiting then there's no chance he's coming back. You have to be good at recruiting if you're going to be a college coach. Period.
Sloan may have been great with Daniels but there is a huge difference between being a QB coach and an experienced play caller. He needs to go to a smaller school to be an OC then work his way to the big time.
All this going on and still, Matt house still has a damn job. The wrong coordinator left the program. Regardless, LSU offense will be ok because BK is an Offensive guy. The defense needs a major facelift.
Get to the point quicker sometimes but, umm…
Lol😂 no one poached your OC. He is going BACK to ND. He is a Notre Dame guy. 😂
I like Tommy Rice
How can anyone respect you with a bunch of bud light in front of you?
Show him the money😅😅😅😅
Chip Long is not an option, Kelly Fired Long after he demanded that Jeff Quinn the O-Line coach, Kelly's friend and and incompetent coach should be let go, it was long that got fired instead. Chip Long is a very good OC but he will not even get an interview at LSU as long as Kelly is there. Kelly is more apt to hire a friend than the best man for the job, it just so happens that many of his friends are good coaches, but Chip Long is not among them.
😂😂😂 good, just like mizzou felt the knee in the stomach on their DC being poached by LSU, glad to see you lose your coach.
Matt House needs to go. There is no exception to keeping him at all.
No for Sloan
Here’s a crazy idea, Art Briles. He was acquitted at trial and would be cheap. Sankey already hates LSU so you’re not burning any bridges. You could even make him co-oc and tight ends coach with Joe and in a few years, when he’s ready to retire, hand the keys over to Joe if he’s earned BK’s total confidence
Terrible idea
Brady developed players. He sucks at calling plays.
Pete Carmichael may be available soon....
Fuck no
We want Joe Brady. He's a QB and a WR whisperer. He knows how to get the WR to see exactly what the QB sees. He shows the WR exactly why he has to be where the QB is going to throw the ball. That chemistry between WR and QB is a necessity and Brady knows how to create that. One year one year he showed up. His recruiting flaws would take care of themselves because of his winning ability on the field. Now-a-days he hopefully has been humbled by the NFL and his lack of NFL head coaching offers. Seems like everybody on that 2019 LSU Championship team had the big head. They all are not where they should be so now it's time to get back to business and do it right this time. Joe Brady for OC....... Geaux Tigers!!!!
Please, please, Change that migrain-inducing music! Other than that, you do a good job.
Matt house is awful as a defensive coach, l can't understand why Kell didn't keep some of coach o staff from the defense they were outstanding coaches
Peyton Manning Peyton Manning Peyton Manning!!!!!!!!!!
Tommy Rees to LSU is a stupid suggestion. Joe Brady to LSU is a stupid suggestion. Pretty lazy reporting there, Matt.
Delusional LSU Fans seem to not understand our OC went back to ND because he knows it's about suck time in BR. JAYDEN carried the entire winning record on his shoulders.
Time will tell, eh?
Are you saying Mike Denbrock can't recruit talent?
Stay away from Joe Brady...
Lived long enough to see LSU win 3 National Championships and play for 1, field 2 Hiesman trophy winners and win a bunch of big games. Brian Kelly is not the answer but it was a great run...😊
It's comical that you think ensminger had anything to do with that offense so all of a sudden he changed everything and started calling games in a way he has never done before..lol
The offense made a lot of progress from early 2016 to later in the year, and then it was strong at the end of 2018. It’s comical you think you’re knowledgeable.
Very funny Lsu had porch ND head coach
This is an insult not to consider Hankton how many National Championships has Sloan won 0 . Ok Sloan developed JD , Cordell developed Nabors & Thomas . I have nothing against Joe my beef is with Matt getting those rethreads out of the wood works embarrassing.
Really Joe Brady. Has he done anything good since 2019.
If he had of stayed he would took coach o spot got HC at LSU. Then he would left LSU soon as HC job came open for NFL. Let him stay in the NFL where he truly wants to be at.
LSU OC is leaving partially because LSU is probably , not going to be an offensive power house. in 2024. LSU does not have a top QB and without a top QB LSU will be 6-6 team in the SEC in 2024
I repeat leave Joe Brady where is at... He is not what LSU need. All he is gonna do is stay 1 or 2 years and leave to the NFL. Joe Brady will never be allowed back at LSU
Joe Brady what a joke
