Quinnen Williams is amazing talent for sure. The thing that impressed me the most out of all (including his technical mastery) was the running the LSU RB out of bounds. I'm drafting him after seeing that play. Imagine the motivation he would give to the rest of the d-line and defense as a whole.

Jets gonna go as far as darnold takes them. That's where it starts.
He had a good connection with Pryor and Jets waive him for a clown that played with Darnold in college. Stupid as move. Pryor got snatched same week. 3 TD in 3 games and Jets waive him.
Tony Micel Pryor caught two passes for 17 yards the rest of the season after the Jets cut him. Hmmmm...

Imagine drafting Q.Williams and then putting him on the edge. And then when he inevitably doesnt perform the same due to position change, we label him a bust.
Now switch that name to Solomon Thomas and thats what the 49ers fans have done.

This video made me realize how much of a beast Williams is. Now that he has a 4.83s 40yd in the books, I am very impressed with Williams.
The sequence from 8:26 is rare stuff from a DT. Aaron Donald is the only one who does this frequently that I recall from the current rank of NFL DTs. I guess this is why the Donald comparison is being made here.

Dude, I truly appreciate this. You have sold me on this guy. I’m a Jets fan (3rd pick 2019) and have been against the analysts picking Williams in their mocks for the Jets- mostly bc they have other needs before a DL. Watching him along with your analysis really changed my mind. Dude can pretty much do anything.

I want to see him next to Buckner as the 49ers starting Nose. I believe you can make up for lack of a great edge rusher by having two great interior rushers (see Bryant Young and Dana Stubblefield, Aaron Donald and Suh), and pairing Buckner and Williams would be devastating inside. And seeing them both line up at 3 in wide 9s or double A gap pressure looks would put the fear of god in opposing guards.
If I saw Quinnen Williams line up next to Buckner I'd lock my front door and turn my TV off

@@pedroy0909 Drafting Williams would give Soloman a chance. Bosa plays Thomas' position, Williams doesn't. Williams would replace D.J. Jones and Earl Mitchell, not Thomas.
Aj Dembroski bosa plays the position Solomon is playing rn but he is better on the inside and I’m sure he will produce if we move him next to defo

@@nickdoesrobloxnickdr absolutely while he is not a traditional nose tackle he has the run stopping ability to hold it down better than 85% of nose tackles in the NFL. He could also be a monster 3-4 end with his raw power and pass rushing polish.
He’s more than just a run stuffer though. He’s also the best interior pass rusher in the draft.

Love the content Brett as always. I was wondering if you've ever thought about showing clips of how teams slow down and/or stop the players you talk about. For example, what Clemson did to neutralize WIlliams' impact in the National Championship. I'm sure NFL teams look at games where they're not as effective so I think it'd be neat to see both the good and bad of a prospect. Again, love the videos!
Cynical Man-Child they doubled him every play and ran away from him. Also did a good job getting the ball out quickly before a pass rush could develop.

The 49ers dumping Garçon, Gilliam and other dead weight guys are saving lots of money. If they don't use it on AB, they can just sign Brandon Graham and Dante Fowler, trade Armstead, and draft Williams.
Like Brett said, when you get a chance to pick a unicorn just don't overthink it, pick him and say thank you to the football Gods. My Giants did it last year, grabbed a unicorn of a running back instead of darnold Allen or Rosen at qb. Ain't nobody regretting it.
Sometimes i think easier reads/instinct get looked at as reading the play/formation. for example the LSU clip at 6:40. I feel he just read that his guard pulls, then he knows instinctively that the down block is coming, then just being an athletic strong man, is able to go over top of the center.
This is why Brett is second to none. He was spot on in this video and now the top 2 DT’s in the sport are Donald and Quinnen.
He’s played at an elite level later in the year, he struggled a bit in the beginning but he’s starting to hit his stride now, he just needs to stay healthy and get more consistent.

You know the system, you know exactly what skills you're looking for, so you can hone in on those skills creating a sum greater than the parts.

Consistent system, great coaching staff, great culture of discipline and love for the game. What you mentioned is the reason the Pats are always so dominant.

Donald wasn't even viewed as an elite DT prospect. Almost everyone thought he was too small to play inside... Add to that, Aaron Donald started as a D end not a DT

Oliver has the same explosiveness, but he's even smaller than Aaron, and not nearly as refined yet.

xx12vortex12xx not really much new content to go over from it. Pats ran the same defense the Bears did vs them and Goff got frustrated not being able to go deep. Rams ran a lot of the same stuff other teams did that worked vs Brady over the years since they have the players to make it work and stopped the run to make sure it worked.
