It's time to RETURN to the epic San Luis Potosi for a NEW 3 part series! I was last in San Luis in February 2019 and visited Real de Catorce, La Huasteca, Xilitia and more as well as experiencing local dishes Enchiladas Potosinas and Huastecas and the famous Costanzo Chocolates!
San Luis is definately my favourite place in Mexico, largely because it feels more untouched by tourism than other areas of Mexico such as Guanajuato, Cancun, San Miguel de Allende and Puerto Vallarta, which I love!
In this vide we start by checking out the following -
- Barrio San Sebastian - a wonderful residential area close to Centro!
- Mercado Tangamanga - an awesome traditional Mexican market full of produce as well as affordable Enchiladas Potosinas!
- Centro - one of my favourite Centro's in Mexico!
- Calzada de Guadelupe - a gorgeous long road heading past the Museo de Leonora Carrington, down to an awesome church!
- Basilica de Nuestro Senora de Guadelupe - a stunning church with all the features you expect from a church in Mexico!
- Parque Tangamanga 1 - a huge city park beaten only in sixe in Mexico by Chapultepec Park in Mexico City!
Stay tuned for much more from San Luis Potosi - the perfect spot to include in your Mexico trip in 2019!

Hola amigos! We're back in San Luis Potosi after 3 months!! Popular foreigner destination versus lesser known city... what are your thoughts? This is the FIRST of a THREE PART 'Return to San Luis' series, there's lots more to come! Oh, and we reached 13000 subscribers today!! Gracias amigos! ❤🇲🇽
¡Hola amigos! ¡Ah, y hoy llegamos a 13000 suscriptores! Gracias amigos! ❤🇲🇽
You've made me rethink my plans for Querertaro. Not sure if it's the place or your enthusiasm. Nevertheless, started looking at house rental prices. Though the state shape looks more like a Scotty dog than a German shepherd dog. Either one works for this retired dog trainer!
@@beastiedarling haha you're more of an expert on dogs than me amigo! I'm a cat person! With Queretaro, I wasn't there long and I was still a bit down after my dramas in CDMX, so I didn't portray it in the same way (I was in SLP for a month in Feb so have a different view of it!)
Blessings always enjoy it
Bienvenido oootra vez!!!
thank you for showing the world my beautiful Potosino state
I live here in SLP and absolutely love how you are showing our city. It is a very nice colonial historic city .
So is it true that they kidnap kids on the yellow bridge?
One of my first teachers of Spanish came from this city. She was very proud of this place.
I spent my childhood in San Luis so I might be biased, but it is absolutely one if the prettiest cities in Mexico. Another beautiful, historical city that is a must in Mexico is Tlaxcala. Super beautiful.
I am from San Luis Potosi and I am just so proud of where I come from , I miss it .
Huasteca Potosina is paradise on earth. It's unbelievably beautiful, you have to see it.
I was in Ciudad Valles, Xilitla and Edward James in February. MUCHO CALOR! But I didn't go to any cascadas, I don't like water and without my glasses I am basically blind so wouldn't be able to film anything. Might go back there one day though, at a cooler time, if that exists jaja
I'm from San Luis Potosí, and i love it, it' my favorite city, jaja, and love Enchiladas Potosinas too.
Welcome, and enjoy it!
Que hermoso es mi San Luis ❤❤
Hola Miranda!

Bienvenido!!!!! No te vayas, quedate aqui en San Luis Potosí...
My family is from San Luis and I’m so happy to hear someone else appreciate the city so much
It's the best!
I travel to San Luis Potosi from age 10 to age 35 with my whole family. Our annual Religious Convention is base there. Most of our family met our future spouses there. Great memories of personal and Church activities as a child and into adulthood. I have always had it in my mind always. Thank you for this video, made me some what sentimental at 60 yrs old. Shalom
Hi David! You're my new first-thing-in-the-morning... along with coffee, you take me to incredible places. My situation in the states holds me here for a while, and you are creating future travel plans for me. So glad to have found you, enjoy all your work. I've been to Mexico 5 times on holiday and have always wanted to return for extended stays. Watching you makes it seem somehow possible. Love you and your life as a traveler! Jim
Thanks Jim! It's tough working and travelling but it's definately possible!
Finally one foreign person who loves San Luis, I am from Monterrey but this city and even more the state are stunning, regards from Nuevo Leon!
Hola amigo! Thanks for watching! I was in SLP for a month in February, there's another 10 videos in the playlist. I'll be in your city on June 8th!
@@davidostrowski679 Monterrey is so different from the other cities, i hope you can enjoy the city specially the macroplaza and paseo santa lucia, i recommend you santiago city that is a pueblo magico near from Monterrey, and if you have time to explore the state you need to go to iturbide, galeana, rayones and Linares, by the way you have to taste cabrito, glorias and machacado, the most representative food of the state, have an excellent night¡ :)
@@goser132 thanks for the info man! I haven't done any research yet! I won't be there for long as I'm going to Montreal on 15th!

Hi David! I discovered SLP City 2 years ago and was a fantastic experience. I had planned a trip to San Miguel de Allende but changed my mind due to high prices of accommodations. I found SLP charming, clean, safe and affordable. There are some very nice museums there and also there are some very interesting spots not far from SLP City. The state of SLP is populated by very well preserved impressive colonial haciendas (Mexican answer to European castles). Maybe because during Colonial times SLP was super rich in silver and because of the dry climate, you can find in SLP the best haciendas in all of Mexico. If possible get a tour to some haciendas like Gorron Hacienda, where Catherine Z. Jones filmed Zorro. They are spectacular. Have an great time in SLP. Cheers
Thanks man, LOVE SLP! Real de Catorce a few months ago was my fave. I love the whole silver history. I've already left SLP (this video was filmed 8 days ago), I'm in Zacatecas. I'm going down the mines next week like I did in Taxco!! Thanks for your awesome info as always amigo

Glad to be of help Bob! If you check out the playlist link in the description there's another 10 videos from SLP from February this year!
@@davidostrowski679 How is the rainy season, is it cloudy all the time?
@@FlyingCameraGuy you know what, with the exception of CDMX in the summer, I've never seen rain in Mexico. Yesterday in Zacatecas was the first time I'd seen rain in 6 months!
@@FlyingCameraGuy Sometimes it rains in rainy season, not always. It is normally tempered with dry sun without humidity, if you are from las vegas, you have to realize that it is like the climate of las vegas dry but the triple of burning sun in las vegas is the difference. I was 9 months ago in Las Vegas.
@@enriquepatino1193 Thanks for the comparison with Las Vegas.
So many good memories of San luis Potosí , i miss it a lot, wish i could back to live there..I used to go to tangamanga 1 alone , i loved how quiet it is. just to sit somewhere and listen to, music, read or just relax, may not sound quite exciting but for a person like me it was like paradise
Awesome! In the third video I go to Tangamanga 2, lots of people having picnics on a Sunday, playing music, boyfriends and girlfriends etc. Loved it!
@@davidostrowski679 cool , can´t wait to watch it cause I actually never went to T2
I was so pleasantly surprised by San Luis. I went for my birthday and I loved it. I think it has one of the nicest historic centers I've seen in Mexico.
I'm glad someone else agrees with me Poncho! I love Plaza Fundadores and Jardin San Francisco also

Gracias Dan! #vivaSLP!
I felt the same way! I went to San Luis Potosi Mexico and was amazed at all the colonial architecture and charm of the city and was impressed. I was told San Miguel de Allende was even better when I went to San Miguel de Allende I was greatly disappointed, Not that it was not beautiful just there was a charm that was not there almost like there was something missing.
Absolutely agree! San Miguel was in no way as special as people say!
I love it. That’s my hometown San Luis Potosí.
Thanks for the video
Orgullosa de ser de la huasteca potosina
