I’ve playing a lot of Breath of the Wild recently and every time I fast travel I think about the fact that the npc’s don’t even react despite the fact that I just burst into blue shards.
how I imagine it, since time freezes while it happens, from the npc perspective Link just suddenly vanishes. Maybe a quick blue flash? Suddenly disappearing without seeing any of the effects cuz it’s too fast sounds more funny

You know what’s funny is that in Kingdom Come Deliverance this is actually how the system works. If you close the map overlay you’ll see you’re actually just really quickly travelling down the path your icon shows you moving through.
I’ve been wondering how the game did that before. An idea was Henry still moved on the map while the whole world was not rendered. Can’t say I ever thought to close the map UI or if I even can in case it was just a video showcasing how it works with a modified game.
same, here after playing that game for hours, its engine is total copy of gothic and risen

I once used goto pos shortcut in original gothic game, many times to underground jail cell, after about 30-40 tries repeating it, the guard just freaked out and just ran away like crazy, that game was made in 2000, this was my first experience with AI NPCs thinking independently

I haven't played fallout, but the having the camera centered on the NPCs whilr having the actors with stiff movements was excellent.
This is easily one of the best sketches on YT from a comedic standpoint, and the cinematography is great as well. You guys are great.

Actually it's at walk speed, so there's a lot of automatically sneaking and detouring to avoid combat, either that or I like to think it's like when you're driving and have a good podcast, pure flow state.

Imagine that but your character gets a doom guy switch over when you fast travel, that takes over your character and makes to run to the destination while destroying anything in your character's path from death claws to worst enemies with ease.
I think this is a much better and cooler idea than just teleportation.
The algorithm is directing me here this day. And I keep re-watching 2:17 and the essence of the dialogue start being captured there.
It's been 10 months and I'm still re-watching this part.
He doesnt just teleport because the time it would take to fast travel is loaded
I love how this works so well with Fallout: New Vegas because fast traveling in that game actually plots a line from your place to the point you're travelling to and skips the time it takes to walk there in a straight line. 10/10
