  • It was a great - albeit short - first run out on the lake. This was the high point of our Victoria Day (May 2-4) long weekend here in Ontario. Often referred to as the unofficial start of summer, we couldn't have asked for better weather.

    I debated with myself on watching this one as this is the time of year I miss our 370 AMFM3 the most. But I broke down and am glad I did! I never had the opportunity to boat through waterways like you showed us in this video. Beautiful! And, a 2 for the first few times in this new slip/marina is ok with me. Anchor Girl will be giving you a 10 soon, but long after you give yourself one! Again, thanks for this one, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

      I'm hoping to be up to a Number Three for my docking by the end of this season ;-)
      Glad you were able to watch this vid! Hoping to get out for some travel type cruising over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for those videos. . .

    Boogaboo, I took a long break from CZcams and posting because my family sold our Chris Craft cruiser almost two years ago for a wake surf boat.. Not my decision but alas.... Any way of getting on the water is better than staying on land! As always, love watching your videos. My dream is to buy my own one day and use it as a live-aboard during the summer. Hope all is well with you and Anchor Girl!

      @@BoatingWithBoogaboo I am still waiting on a remote oil filter line that starting leaking at the end of last season. So frustrating! This season will be a lot different. I lost my Dad on Monday.

      So sorry to hear that. As I believe I mentioned in the past, this month marks 23 years since we lost my Dad. He, like with yourself, was a huge influence on my love of the water and boating.

    Black flies perhaps? I too am severely allergic to them. They are terrible this time of year. Flonase works great for me. Hope anchor girl feels better soon.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před měsícem

      Definitely not black flies. We get plenty of those in the summer during our travels. These bugs look like mosquitoes, but they aren't. Slightly larger with black body. They come out every May in our area of the world, and are gone by the end of the month.

    Great vid, I didn't run any video on my first run (had to move boat via water from Port Clinton to Oak Harbor) after quite a bit of work on the boat over the winter and wanted to focus on sounds, etc.

    It seems like every time it's calm, the bugs are out. Lake Michigan is rarely calm but sometimes it is so calm, it is glassy in appearance and the bugs land right on the water a half mile off shore.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před měsícem +1

      That's a long, sad story, but social media is not the place to share it. Perhaps we'll see each other somewhere along the Waterway and touch base. Bottom line is that we are much happier and better off now that we're at Starport Marina. Still blown away with the level of service here and how much all of the staff truly go out of their way to offer help!! Never seen anything like it in our 25+ years of boating.

    I will be renting a houseboat in Peterborough September 30 through October 6th this year. Can't wait to see the Trent Severn for the first time and hope the leaves will be changing. For those familiar with the Trent Severn which direction would you recommend I should go towards Lake Huron or towards Lake Ontario ?

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před 18 dny

      Hi Raymond, good to learn that you'll be experiencing the TrentSevernWaterway by boat this year!
      That said, I'm unfamiliar with any houseboat rentals operating out of Peterborough, but I am quite familiar with the area. Given that you only have six days to travel (3 there and 3 back), you'll find that your options for destinations are quite limited. If heading upstream (more or less northbound), you should be able to reach Lakefield or a little farther, perhaps Burleigh Falls. A great marina at Lakefield, but be sure to book a slip ahead of time. Burleigh Falls is a pretty spot to spend a night at the lock.
      If you were to head downstream (more or less southeast), you would have a day's worth of travel to get to Hastings, which would be the first practical overnight destination going that way. It's a long trip down the Otonabee River and across Rice Lake, but very pretty.
      Whichever way you go, be sure to add an extra day of travel into your itinerary to account for weather delays, etc..
      Have fun!!

    Looks awesome Paul,
    Looking for your advice
    I am considering to buy a 1998 330 SeaRay Sundancer , just like the one you previously have had. I am being told that you cannot scan the hours on the mercury 7.4 EFI engines for a 1998. can you clarify for me how you were able to scan the motors in your 1998 330?

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před měsícem

      Well, I'm gonna tell you this about that 😉 When we bought our 330 Dancer, I never had the engines scanned. However, we DID have them done on our current 370 Sundancer, which is the same year and exact same Mercruiser 7.4 Bluewater engines that were in our 330 Sundancer, so not sure what/why/from who you're getting that information.
      Aaaaaaand, our prior 400 Sedan Bridge also had the same Bluewater big blocks in it and we had those engines successfully scanned - two times.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před měsícem

      Aaaaaaand, we also looked at a different, 1997 370 Sundancer before buying the one we have, and I had the engines scanned by the broker as well 🙄 Sounds like you need to seek out a different mechanic 😅
