I went to OCS straight from boot camp, so I never really had to do anything. The Navy gave me everything that I needed.

I appreciate it and the info is there. Tons of priors, like myself had to purchase more items--since no1 told us.. I'm just paying it forward

1.5k in savings let’s go! Can you have phones in OCS bootcamp and what do you think selection wise is a good candidate

Probably a dumb question but if there are any discrepancies (I.e. a speck of paint on the parka liner, fading NWUs, scuffs on dress shoes) would you recommend just biting the bullet and buying new there?

Fast question. I would wave in the side of caution. Would you get hit on it, in an inspection. Don’t buy a new one for one little thing on it

Is there a place to store the extra luggage and garment bag that will be needed at the end of OCS? How many bags are needed? (Not enlisted ai everything will be obtained there)

Great question. I’d suggest only bringing an overnight bag- hygiene items. you only need a few items, Everything else is provided to you.

Did you have to go through medical as active duty already?

What do you medical? When you go to OCS, the first week is all medical(All over again). Yes. Very repetitive

So I can run my 1.5 mile in under 11 min and can max push ups and plank…. I’m a prior but while in college I was on a D1 track team and jumped and ran frequently. I’ve lost some of my endurance but can still pass everything with ease that’s required for OCS. Physically I think I’m ready. Just was curious if their was little tidbits that helped. I’ve had friends go through and they gave me pointers too, like pace yourself on the RLP, First Friday, and fast cruise because it’s not a race just gotta push hard.

I also left boot camp like 2 years ago so, most of the gouge is still fresh for me I’ve been studying a ton as well
