    Thank you for this knowledge, sir. I didn't have male role models growing up, so I was never taught these things. Who knows how many lives you've saved with this tip alone.

      Hi. Thanks very much for your kind comments. I really appreciate it. I taught many many Scouts about the issues with cross contamination in coolers over the years and thought it would good for others as well. Thanks!

    These Yeti type coolers are pretty amazing in their ability to keep stuff cold for an extended time, expensive and interior space is small for their overall size but well worth it.

      Hi. They really are great. The one on the right is a Duluth Trading that they apparently do not sell anymore. It is almost an exact Yeti copy. The basket even fits both.

    What’s up how about taking these coolers into bear territory? I see videos saying it’s not safe to store food in your car but you can’t hang a cooler up a tree so what’s the solution

    You can deter bears from entering your camp site with a portable electric bear fence. Small kit that brings huge peace of mind.

    I have a question for a weekend camp trip would this method work? Or how many days would this be recommended for?

    • @useful.knowledge
      @useful.knowledge  Před rokem

      Hi. This is definitely fine for a weekend or even longer. The key is to keep the meat cold and it’s just like being in a fridge. You may have add ice to the ice cooler but just keep it cold in there. I have used this more than 5 days.

    This is exactly how we do it. I even have the exact same coolers down ti the colors. Weird.

      Hi. It’s a Duluth Trading. They put them on clearance about a year ago really cheap. It’s been a good small cooler. I’m not even sure Duluth sells them anymore.

    Will the ice melt over a few days?

    • @useful.knowledge
      @useful.knowledge  Před rokem

      Yes, it will over over a few days based on outside temp and the kind/type of ice cooler you have.

  • @earphbound720
    @earphbound720 Před 3 lety +1

    Do you just keep replenishing the ice?

    • @useful.knowledge
      @useful.knowledge  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi. Yes, if you’re out for over 3 days, you will probably have to replenish. These newer ice coolers are way better than 20 years ago when we had to replenish every day or so.

      No problem at all. We also have a camping 101 video. I made this one because most folks are tricked into thinking they have to walk 10 miles and spend lots of $ to go camping. Here is the link: czcams.com/video/xUqTgNJgWUs/video.html
