I have the pros in white and amazingly they outshined my factory LED low beam on my tundra.
Jimmie G nice! Any troubles aiming them?
Road Patina The adjustment is very limited. i can see y you use zipties. I aimed it to the lowest but essentially these fogs r too bright to have any clean cutoff. Maybe i should have gone with the Sport.
Jimmie G I thought the same, but with the output of the proâs I would have always wandered what I was missing, if I got the sports!
I ordered pro fogs and sport driving to use with high beams cant wait to see how it works . Your comment "you probably shouldnt use these all the time but i might have to" had me dead, Im the same way. too thumbs up
Should be a light show! I use mine almost everyday in so cal traffic and have never been flashed.
Great video. I appreciate being respectful of other drivers on the road by not blinding them. đșđž Got my DD SS3 fogs today and can't wait to install!
Thank you! They are great, you will love them. Bad things can happen when people are blinded driving towards you. I have not been flashed once đ
I broke my clip today and didn't realize that is why I couldn't get everything back together. Spent a good hour trying to force things until I gave up. Need to buy some epoxy and see about a new clip. Thanks for the video!
Bummer, I hope you get it squared away!
Great job Brandon the videos are getting better and better. Keep at it
Chris Sanchez Thanks bud! I would love to see some mad wood working skills on video!
Intro is legit! So on point!
LilRedChevelle thank you! I appreciate the kind words.
âCut the chit chat. Letâs goâ đ
Well, everyone is thinking it!
Yep all day and night. Get attention during the day for additional safety.
You know it đ
I put in the clear pro model last month. I had to angle them down as far as it would go to try matching headlight cut off. Much better than the wide cornering Baja design they replaced. I know those things where really blinding people and they would let me knowđŹ.
Chris Slaughter I read Baja had to recall theirs, as the cut off line was not within legal limit. Still love these! Mine are pointed down too and wish they could be just a bit higher!
Would you recommend going with the sport instead because of the cutoff?
Thanks for this... and, your voice is so soothing, has anyone ever told you that? đ
Lol never herd that one but thanks!
Those clips on the plastic piece definitely difficult to remove without damaging. I have first fog SST pro yellow installed, and second after work today. On my 2017 1794 trim tundra, I installed without trying to pull out the front as you did. Was a bear putting in support tie wraps, and hardest part of all, was aiming. Getting to the 2 side aiming screws really hard. Iâm going to pick up a shorty socket with hex and stubby driver with hex to tighten same two screws.
It was definitely a song and dance to get them installed. I broke one of those fender liner retaining brackets and used a few screw drivers and plastic trim removal tools on the other side! đ€ good luck.
Got very similar tundra myself enjoyed the video very much
Thank you, nice trucks aye!
Merci pour ce bon vidéo d'explication. TrÚs utile !! :)
đ
Just ordered these for my 2020. Hopefully I can get these snug.
Have u tried using a hose cut to fit the edge of the bezel? That might make up the gap stopping it from moving while driving etc.
Never thought about that!
I believe they offer a flat bezel instead of the angled bezel you have on the fog light. Do you think that would prevent the movement by setting/sealing in the housing better?
I have not seen an updated bezel. Itâs been several months since the install and there was only the round oem and the square oem from the trd pro with rigids. I would love a better bezel as ALL the lights wiggle in the oem bezel and people have resorted to zip ties, clamps, or custom L brackets. Keep me posted if you find a better way!
Great video !! I have a 2016 tundra with chrome front grill , where can I find a black grill like yours ?
TRD Pro grill and color matched hood buldge. Any Toyota dealer can order them. Check Sparks Toyota online for prices and part #
Thanks đ
Great vid thanks! have you been getting flashed by oncoming traffic?
858RLTR thank you! I had a hard time finding a parking lot with a wall to properly align them. The lights are pointed pretty far down but still throw a ton of light for now. They are actually sitting back on the workbench so I can wrap the bumpers corners, then try again to realign! BTW are you a Realtor in SD?
Road Patina Thanks for the reply. I have seen a few other vids where they adjusted them all the way down to prevent blinding people. They look to have a pretty good cut off also.
yes I am a realtor here in SD. Guilty as charged haha.
U said sweet cut off that sports have? I'm debating on sports or pros, but pros got me with the brightness
Yes, I believe the sport has a sharper cut off line but not as bright. Love the pros for the power but they cost a bit more. Check out the MAX for more brightness and even more money!!!
Hi! Do you have any video driven around your town with your fog lights on? Thanks!!
Unfortunately I do not. Truck got hit so only have one fog currently đ
What do you think about the MAX ? Worth it ?
I have not tried them out. DD makes great product I am sure the MAX is legit. My only concern is blinding oncoming traffic. My PROs are angled down and I never get flashed!
So I have a question. I installed my ss3 pros on my 17 tundra today but will only turned on when my lows are on what did I do wrong?
Fogs are wired from the factory to only turn on when headlights are on. If you want to turn them on independently, research âAnytime fogâ mod for Tundra. I believe there are a few methods!
Can you make a video showing how to install the switch?
Claud Guam the factory switch on the signal stalk works. I do not have a separate switch for these. There is a few different ways to run them as 'anytime on.' This mod is well documented online if you want to give it a shot!
I have a 2018 tundra and I tried with the signal and itâs not working, I install a relay and itâs not working.
I am loving the intensity of these lights! So helpful in the crazy So Cal weather we have. Check out the Tundra intro video here czcams.com/video/RmK4Ui4hvNc/video.html
i know I'm pretty randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
@Reuben Justice Flixportal :)
@Joziah Bo thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!!
@Reuben Justice glad I could help =)
was there any light bouncing with the factory fog light? If not, then maybe itâs not their fault when you install a different fog light. Was there a big difference in weight between the 2 fog lights?
The factory fog was very loose and rattled. It was not noticeable while driving because they put out such little light. I think the only real fix, is to make an L bracket and mount the light directly to the bumper support.
@@RoadPatina oh ok.... the color is so nice though.
I installed mine and they are great except that when I turn them on they generate a ton of RF noise in my FM station. Has anyone else had this problem?
Hm none with mine. Iâd reach out to DD.
How long did it take for them to come in? Or did you buy these in person?
Brandon Telese I got lucky and got a set that was in stock. Check with the retail shops in the forum I saw some shops had dozen in stock!
Yea DD website says 3-5 weeks lol I need my fix now!
Brandon Telese Website said that to me also but shipped the next day!
You can find it on Amazon. Sometimes they are in stock. When they are, it will be two day shipping. I got mine on sale.
Alex Enache awesome! I have seen some sales now on their website too!
Do you get alot of people high beaming you back? I just recently put my ss3 pro sae fog on my tacoma and almost every car I drove pass is high beaming and honking at me lol. And yes I did adjust it way down.
Really? I have mine on all the time even in day light and never get flashed. Not even once. I did use a wall and measured about 25 feet out to make sure they were aligned well below my headlights. They had more adjustment than I though. IIRC if you push them in first, they can aim down even more.
@@RoadPatina honestly I'm trying not to be the asshole on the road but what can I do. The light put so much putting i cant control it. I've already adjust to the point it where it bottom out. Can't really do nothing to it.
@@guywhosleepallday8194 I get it bud! I feel the same way and turn them off if needed. If you donât see their faces lit up, they are probably not getting hit with the light, just not used to the high output.
I broke the clips on both đą
Bummer!
Iâm confused about the colour options, i see some with close to amber and some yellow, is there a yellow and an amber options?
I believe the amber is the yellow color. That is what I received. Iâd check with them to be certain!
@@RoadPatina i guess itâs the lighting thatâs making it yellow/amber at some angle, thanks for the reply boss!
@@RCGJR_ gotcha, they are more on the yellow side for sure!
Do they come with harness or is that separate?
Juan Arevalo harness and everything to instal was included! I recommend đđ
@@RoadPatina thanks I just placed my order for my tundra as well. Hope I get them soon
Juan Arevalo I donât think you will be disappointed. Mine showed up much faster then they initially stated.
Are these the driving SEA or fog SAE?
SAE fog!
@@RoadPatina thank you.
@@Freyes2017 no problem! Not sure about the difference but I do love the fogs.
Is the housing of the light plastic? Or aluminum?
The housing of the light is metal and very well built!
@@RoadPatina cool just making sure! Due to budget will be going with Diode over Baja
@@yezkaholic Diode was my first choice after much research. You can buy the sport over the pro and save a bit more. Just not the same output. BD lights were having some issues being truly DOT legal at the time I purchased.
@@RoadPatina yeah ive looked into both options, the price difference is significant. Most folks say BD is a bit brighter. But do you really want to pay couple hundred extra for a bit more lumens
@@yezkaholic I also consider other drivers on the road being blinded! Need to have a good cut off line. Great info on the link I posted from tacomaworld forum.
Lights should never be aimed higher at their hot spot than the center of the light is from the ground... ie. 24" from the ground to center.... shouldn't be aimed more than 24" up the wall at 20 feet...
Fogs should be aimed flat.... not up towards the headlights.... that's what blinds drivers eyes . You see so many of these trucks with modified/ aftermarket fog lights driving around where the fog lights are 10 times brighter than their headlights. improper aiming is the reason why.
Correct! Good info.
Is your name Johnny?
No sir, I am Brandon!
Toyota seriously failed on this hole Fog Light mounting system. The TRD Pro fog are even worse since the bumper end itself is also plastic. Just fucking garbage. I have cable ties all over my Rigid TRD Pro fogs and they still shake.
You should have invested that $$ into new tires.
LPnewt in the mail!
$280-$600 for a set of foglights and they tell you to use zip ties. đ€Ąđ€Ąđ€Ą
