    My oil pump is working fine still I do premix 30ml 2T. The bike runs fine however I see oil deposits below the exhaust port lol. It’s a big bore hence I prefer premix too.

    • @BrattyBiker
      @BrattyBiker  Před 2 lety +1

      I guess that's too much oil. I'd suggest you to delete the oil pump and run purely premixed.

    Hi, I own an Yamaha Rx 100 1989 model.
    Firstly can I use nulon engine oil treatment in my motorcycle is that okay??
    Secondly I’m using 2t oil in my petrol tank because previously my engine was seized and came to bore as the pump failed. But now based on the reality that the hike of the petrol has increased drastically so I’m planning to comeback to pump what are your thoughts?
    But sometimes again I feel let me stick to premix 😄(I’m adding 40ml per litre in city and on highways speeding above 60kmph I used 50ml per litre)
    I’m Using Mak but now planning to use Motul as I heard it emits less smoke comparatively.

      Welcome to the channel dude!
      1) Yes, although I am yet to use it on my RXG, many of my mentors/seniors have used it on their bikes, even in the past when you could walk into a Nulon is proven to be quite good for 2 stroke engines. But make sure to do one full tank of premixed fuel along with the Nulon treatment, something like this : Our RX has a 10.5lt fuel tank, so 10 ltrs of fuel + 250ml 2T oil (translates to 25ml per litre) + 100 ml NULON (translates to 10ml per litre). Ride this till reserve and then use normal premixed fuel. This is the best way, as recommended by them.
      2) Premix will always be the safest option when it comes to reliability. Yamaha's Oil Pump, is actually known to work well for many years but the problem is that failure has no warnings but only result of a siezed engine. We can only rebore so many times before we have to struggle with time and money on searching for a replacement block-piston kit. So regardless of petrol price, I would still stick with premixing.
      Premixing is also cheaper in my case, 1lt of 2T oil costs about ₹250-300, I premix 25ml per litre inside city, if you are using the pump, a full oil tank of 1lt 2T oil can last for ~1000KM of running (assuming you get 35kmpl, that's about 28.5 litres of petrol, almost 3 tankfulls, almost ₹3,000 worth of fuel) whereas if you are using the same 1lt of oil, but premixing 25ml oil per litre of fuel, that means 10lt petrol + 250ml oil, so it will last for almost 4 full tanks (10lt x 4).
      So 25ml, I find this perfectly adequate and the bike is running great! I do go upto 30ml for ocassional highway runs but most of the time, it's 25ml per litre. In your case, I feel 40-50ml is too much but if its working well, then no worries.
      If you premix 40-50ml per litre, any oil will smoke lol, so try reducing how much you mix. Don't go below 25ml, 30ml is the sweetspot. MAK is a good oil, on the cheaper side, quite thin and works well. Do try the Motul Motomix and Shell Advance VSX. I have not compared them in terms of smoke because my bike doesn't smoke too much, neither am I concerned about it. You can also try ELF 2T by Total Lubricants. Good oil with a peculiar smell to it.

    Bro, is it advisable to stick to one petrol brand?(Like Indian Oil). Or is it ok to switch petrol brands? Btw what petrol brand do you recommend for 2 strokes?

    • @BrattyBiker
      @BrattyBiker  Před 4 lety +2

      It is highly recommended to stick to one or two exact petrol station as the quality of labour determines the quality of work and ultimately the quality of fuel and it varies a lot between bunks even of the same company.
      I cannot exactly recommend one single brand for petrol as it has to do with personal research and identifying the best in your area. It can be an IndianOil bunk or a Bharat Petroleum bunk or even a Shell bunk.
      I have heard that Shell is more expensive due to their better cleansing process and quality of fuel but I do not have a significant proof to this.
      Whatever you do, try to bring and premix your own oil (you can carry a small bottle or shell’s pouches) instead of the oil from the fuel station.
      But I will do my research on the cleanliness and purity of fuel between brands and will make a video for sure!

    Just open your oil pump change oilseals to the OE new one thats it your pump will work as new all theory of oil pump is depend upon oilseals

    • @BrattyBiker
      @BrattyBiker  Před 3 lety +2

      Not exactly. There are other things that can go wrong with the pump, like the actuator getting stuck, the gears wearing out,dirt in oil tank can screw up the pump and block the hose too ; all this can cause engine siezures and the worst part is that it can happen anytime with no warning.
      Oil seals are important, yes. But it only makes sure that oil doesn’t leak from the pump. It doesn’t directly contribute to the functioning of the pump.

      If you are not able to carry oil, then find and use fuel stations where they have a seperate pumping machine for oil (like petrol) and not some big jar where they use measurement cups for oil. The latter is not trustworthy.
      If you are able to carry oil and a large syringe, then I'd suggest you use Shell Advance VSX or Motul MotoMix 2T. Great budget oils with super lubrication.

      So if you want to premix, you have to remove the oil pump and you have to close/seal the oil pipe which goes from the oil pump to the carburettor. I have made a tutorial video on doing these : czcams.com/video/l2fo7vcW0mI/video.html
      You can follow that video tutorial.
      Make sure to store the pump,tank and its pipes safely.

    • @BrattyBiker
      @BrattyBiker  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, it must NOT suck air, because if it does, then what happens is that the tuning of the carburettor would be messed up, the engine will run lean and this can cause problems like starting trouble, pickup and mileage getting reduced.
      That is why it is necassary to close it or seal it.

      I am going to use on my bike too. Nulon wil create a small coating of itself over the piston,cylinder walls,crank,bearings.etc to reduce friction by a bit.
      Helps in smoothening the engine and getting better engine life.
      Disadvantages, nothing much but if you want to nitpick, well, you need to mix it properly with petrol and you need to make sure that the tank,fuel on/off switch and carburettor is clean before you pour it in.
