Not enough people are appreciating the special effects here. I mean, the actor is blurry, but the bag he's wearing in the apartment is sharp! And this is in 1997!
Only Woody can get a big name like Robin Williams to show up in a film for maybe three and a half minutes, entirely blur him out, and get a scene stealing brilliant performance out of him
Let's be a little objective here. Now really, was this performance "brilliant"? What did he actually do or say to make it "brilliant"? Couldn't any actor off the rack do what he did in this scene?
And in a typical Woody (autobiographical?) statement the solution is his family, others, must adapt to his justified personal malady rather than he change or find a solution. (I was stills photographer on this film. Did some shots of Robin in a mirror focusing on the frame to create the illusion myself) Also did "The Fisher King" with the genius gentleman where he played another painfully unhinged out of focus character. AMAZING performance.
Awesome scene. I love the creativity of this movie. I'm not a Woody Allen fan, but you couldn't tell by THIS SUPERB MOVIE. Cast of characters are perfect! #OutOfFocus
Fox's Marge Simpson, who plays Grace, is a good co-star. Julie Kavner and the late Valerie Harper should've been at the Wrestlemania with Mary Tyler Moore, as it would shown respect to Mary Richards creator, as well as Simpsons co-creator, James L. Brooks, who has made managed to get into the McMahons lives since they wanted to Cyndi Lauper and Wendi Richter into the WWF universe. In addition to being Marge Simpson, Kavner also worked with Brooks on the Valerie Harper-starring Mary Tyler Moore Show spinoff Rhoda as the younger Morgenstern sister Brenda. Lou Albano would even work Brooks' frequent Taxi actor Danny Devito in the 1986 film Wise Guys
Daddy's out of focus! "Reuben stop it!" This is still so funny to me. This happens a lot with members of my family. It happened with a selfie my daughter and I just took. She is so out of focus on that picture!
I think to undestand the scene it must to be complete. At the end of the scene a doctor puts glasses on his wife and children so they can see him focused.

One of my favorite Robin Williams moments.
Working with Julie Kavner after Dan Castellaneta kept filling in as The Genie. Yeah, that is pretty awesome.

Brilliant: "Daddy's out of focus!" :-D
This is pure genius. There are more ideas in this film than in 100 others. Casually slapping 3 min if Kafka in cinema and then moving on.
Woody is a genius.

Yo i wanna be in a movie
Have you ever scene this effect used in other movies, tv shows, commercials, etc? I saw it was used in a cellphone commercial. But that’s it

Rest in peace, Robin! Thank you for all great moments you gave us :((
"get some rest, and see if you can just sharpen up."
Brilliant, as always. Robin, you shall not be forgotten anytime soon!
the two that gave this scene a thumbs down above for this video must have been out of focus.
"Reuben stop it!!" Lol
i laughed so hard😂😂😂😂 after 5 seconds i finnally saw the out of focus
*_"Daddy's out of focus! Daddy's out of focus!"_* 😆📸
Williams is great here, but how a bout that writing! An out of focus actor?! Wow, that's cool.
It's also cool that Marge Simpson voice Julie Kavner was his wife
@@minewheaties5029 couldn't miss that voice in a million! 😁
This is one of my favorite scenes in this movie. Wish it were longer to show the family at the doctor's office getting glasses.
God, I miss Robin Willams.
I miss him too!
RIP Robin Williams.
Lolololol when he goes back and the wife asks whats the matter and he answers I'm out of focus
😁😁😁
My favorite is the son and Robin's reaction.

The great Tony Darrow is the principal cameraman.
Genius
Genius!
Robin Williams was a genius.
Well, Woody Allen wrote that film...
marge simpson
Fuck yes! Julie Kavner. I'd never put the two together. Hannah and her sisters is one of my favourite films as well. Lol. Well spotted.
And Rhoda too! Argh
@@alexthomas1750 Brenda, Rhoda's sister
@@peteradaniel After Homer Simpson voice Dan Castellaneta kept filling in as The Genie, it was easy for me to see that
Must have been an exceptional actor to play this so authentic! How did he do that???? ( :) )
Julie Kavner using her Marge voice. How did he do that???? ( :) )
This is great!! XDDD
When Robin Williams worked with Marge Simpson.
good nice!
Wich cinema technology is this? xD
The video is also out of sync xD
I'm curious whether this was improvised by Williams
He ate "flek"!
How did they do this, I mean technically
Shellfish 🤣🤣🤣🤣
